The over scoring of Riley McCusker. Apparently (word of the day) this special treatment for the gymnasts USAG likes is still at work ( Didn’t think it wouldn’t be , honestly) With her 5.6 and 5.5 start value beam getting second and 5.2 start value in floor getting tied for 4th.
Am I surprised she was over scored? Hell no but I was kind of surprised they still insist on holding her up. It’s clear she will be in the hunt regardless of what she actually does on the competition floor. Marta got a face lift and looks like

John Orozco’s comment on his instagram.
Someone apparently questioned him on why he went to Nationals and I guess it’s okay to sell your alleged soul if you do it for an award.
Of all the people who could have stood up for the victims the last person that should be doing it is the guy who was added to an Olympic team based solely on his membership in “Team Hilton” Funny how he never said a word when it benefit him every year.
And lets talk about , Allan Bower who finished second at Nationals being left home in favor of Sam Mikulak, among others. The guy finished second in the AA. He deserved to be part of this would team over a guy that falls and chokes at every major competition he has attended. Not to mention he was 1 messed up pommels routine from winning the whole damn meet.(Finishing third on pommels even with the mistake) Hey, It’s not like we need an gymnasts on the mens team that can HIT POMMELS….
NOTHING has changed for the men. They will continue to be the butt of jokes until they do something when it matters. See you in 4 years.
Jump, Jive & Thrive is a special that will be airing in October hosted by Shannon Miller and dumbass, Scott Hamilton that will feature gymnastics, dance and a bunch of other hoopla to benefit cancer. Miss Val will be choreographing and it will feature Olympians like Alicia Sacramone and Laurie Hernandez.

I have said it a million times, NBC needs to fire the loser trio and hire Shannon Miller and Alicia Sacramone. Start watching at 106.13 and tell me these two wouldn’t be great together. Alicia’s arrogance and sarcasm with Shannon’s up beat Mary Poppins persona would be comedic gold.
The judges are on crack. Leotards are just plain ugly with a few exceptions. Riley is liked by the judges regardless of what mistakes she makes. Ragan got a gift on beam big time but unlike most everyone else she actually stayed on.
I found this entire Nationals the most boring it has been since 2009. It might even top. I don’t see any of these girls being on the team in 4 years. Not even Ragan though she has the best shot.

Don’t kill me but I kind of like Smith’s leo. DTY with a step. 14.400. She was wobbly and a bit messy in some places tonight but overall she is the deserving leader after night 1. She stayed on beam. Others did not and she was rewarded for.
Huge Amanar with a step for Chiles. Decent air but very good distance. 15.150
I missed Hurd on bars will check it out after. Missed riley on beam. Nice job feed.
Alona messy landings on floor but this is the one event of hers I don’t cringe watching overall.
I kind of like SJS Paint ball throw up leo too. Gd what is happening to me.lol
Trinity Thomas messed up her Pak on bars but for such a tall gymnast I like her swing.

Very short vault for Hurd.
Riley hit bars. Some form feet issues but that was great for what we have seen so far. She was also short on last few handstands.
Great floor for Ragan til her last pass which i think was short but the camera panned out so it was hard to tell.
Well deserved 14.550 for Riley based on what other received. Thought Ragan was under scored compared to everyone on that event.
I finally like a leo (Souza) The floor routine not so much. Texas Dreams has different leo’s??????

Alona fell on her wold turn was short on every leap and jump. Really low dismount. If this is in the 13’s I am done.lol 11.095. She did not get any connections or leaps if the judges did their jobs. sill too high for my taste.
Sloppy landings all around for Chiles.
Fall off beam for Locklear to go with all her cheated leps and jumps and bobbles and a big step back on her dismount. Oh well her Leo is kind of pretty albeit way to high at the neck. That would drive me nuts. 12.800 which is way too high compared to the mess from everyone else on beam.

Ashton hit her bars but it seemed really empty.
Hand down on beam for Chiles.
I don’t think Thomas’s floor will ever grow on me.lol
Jade Carey’s vault was a mess. Her form is a messy mess with a huge leg separation. She fell on her Amanar that I didn’t see.
Ragan’s beam was wobbly but she stayed on. Not her best. I agree gymnast41. Nerves are getting to Ragan.
Fall and huge step and both feet fly out of bounds for Hurd on floor.
Flat feet and missed handstands for Alona on bars. Real judges are going to kill her bars score if doing their job. 14.500. I guess the fix is in for her being named to world team for her connection to Woga. Why am I not surprised? Russian/ American connections by judges at worlds is appalling but with Kim gone hopefully that changes.

Alona has a piked down messy vault with step. Soza messy on bars and now we watch SJS stand around waiting for her event. Fun.
The leo’s so far are unusally ugly tonight.
Good bars from Chiles. Flat feet but hit her handstands. Though one big leg separation on release.
Trinity Thomas is growing on me. She has pretty lines. She needs to fix her leaps on beam.

I just totally day dreamed through Riley’s floor and they never showed Ragan’s bars on the international feed. Okay they showed Ragan on bars. Some leg issues but she flew through that routine.
A couple balance checks on beam from Hurd but she covered them well. Very short dismount and two steps forward.

The background music has been horrid all week.
We have a Canadian singing the National Anthem totally off tune by the way. The song is meant to be sung one way I hate when people change it up.
This is a little interview with Lilly Lipeatt from Cincinnati Gymnastics Academy. I have no clue how old she is but she sounds like she is 30. (She’s 12 according to google) I get the same feeling watching Lilly that I had watching Jordan when she was ten. Lilly is a lot older than she looks but by my math she turns Senior the year of the next Olympics.
Andreea Raducan is now the head of the Romanian Federation. I don’t know what her qualifications are to lead this “ORGANIZATION” Besides the fact she was an Olympic medalist but I guess time will tell. If her first order of business isn’t to hire real Uneven Bar coaches at every level of the sport in her Country then I won’t have much hope.
I am one of those people who didn’t think Andreea should have received her Gold medal back for the Olympics. The adults in charge knew what they were doing when they tried to cheat and give cold medication to a big chunk of their Olympic team and while Andreea did what she was told if there are no real consequences to your actions you will never truly learn your lesson. The Romanian federation needed to learn their lesson and hopefully they did.
I have decided not to go to Worlds. After missing 4 months of work last year I can’t justify the expense just to see Shang Chunsong and Larisa Iordache ( I saw Ponor in 2003) I think I am most disppointed at not seeing King Kohei. Hotel would have cost me almost 13 hundred bucks which is insane. I am hoping Boston gets worlds in 2019.
