Live blogging the US Classic: Seniors

Only if this feed works:)

So far I get four apparatus at once. They did that earlier then changed when they wanted full routines. I can’t sign in to the Olympic channel because I can’t remember my password or user name. So this will have to do. I am also watching the Red Sox leave men on base on TV so this should be fun.

Damn I am out of Frosted Flakes and this hasn’t even started yet.

I will continue this because Rocio asked me too but I love doing this to NO one especially when I am asked to do it every time…. ( I apologize some of you were here and my comments beep didn’t tell em)

Live Results

Want Ads…. Tells me he’s been lying. I’m gonna put it in the Want ads….

I live. In America…… Owwww

Just got two irate e-mails because USAG and the Olympic channel had an ad for next years American Cup and showed Jennie Thompson but not Shannon Miller.

Rotation 4

If Shchennikova is the second best we have behind Ragan ( or even third behind Riley) The US is in trouble.

Huge Amanar but messy landing for Chiles

They are taking a long time for Gaskins score so they can lowball her.

Nice bars for Parea with a layout for a dismount. WHY BOTHER COMING????

Ashton falls on her dismount. Cheats all her leaps but hits everything else.

I am not sure what Souza did on floor but she either bailed or didn’t plan a first pass. I liked the beginning but that music was horrid.

Locklear got a 13.600 with a fall. Marta judges are now Liukin judges and they are worse.

This was soooooo boring. Parea won bars with a layout for a dismount.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rotation 3
My feed cut out on Riley so I don’t know what happened totally but she had a few messy passes.
Whoever that Woga girl was she still had a better dismount than Nastia 🙂
Chiles was a mess on floor. Everything I remember about her is still happening. Sloppy dance and tumbling and messy landings.
Shchennikova is gross and messy and cheated jumps galore.
Hurd hit floor. Nice routine (messy dismount) but I don’t like the music.
Regan hit beam. Nailed everything but missed one connection in her leap series. 15.350
Deanne Soza looks ready for College gym.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

ROTATION 2

Staying Alive. Appropriate music.

Laney Madson looks mad. No smiles for her hit vault.

Brandy Johnson’s daughter looks just like her from the back.

Trinity Thomas had a nice bars. (Only 13.900) Malabuyo missed every handstand

Riley stayed on beam (lots of bobbles)then fell on her dismount.

Regan had a messy form on bars and swung really fast (she couldn’t wait to get off) 14.550

Chiles off beam on two layouts and she bailed mid double wolf turn and stood up.

Marta got out at the right time.

Hurd had to put her hand on beam to save herself and had multiple bobbles but what she did well was done very well and rest was messy.

I only remember being this bored at a Classics once.

I missed the beginning but Adeline Kenlin just had a great beam routine. Best routine of the night so far (what I saw) 14.850

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
ROTATION 1
Abby Walker looks like a young Jamie Pressley.
Paulson hit her floor. She landed her passes well and has clean form but I don’t know I was distracted by all the violins. 13.250
O’Keefe messed up bars but side view means her form looked decent.
Only got half of Sunisa Lee on bars so we could watch Madsen (11.950) fall on floor and walk through her routine.
Jade Carey’s first vault was a 14.350 Her Amanar looked decent.
Purple and pink is the new hot pink…
Riley was very messy on bars. Horribly messy and she screwed up one part. She still got a 13.450. That will be biggest gift of night.
I know you really want to be elite Emily Gaskins but if Nunno couldn’t help you no one can and that pink bow is for 6 year olds. She got a 13.300 and I have no clue how.
Chiles hit bars but missed every handstand but one. 13.600
A Parkettes. Messy form. Marz Frazier
( my bad. Some people were here and m
    Everyone’s floor music sucks… no one’s choreo matches their music.
  2. Mim Says:
    Faves so far: Paulson on floor, Chiles on bars (handstands aside), Carey on vault, Sunisa Lee on beam. Really want to see how Malabuyo is going and wish they’d showed Schennikova’s bars.
    • G Says:
      I’m excited for Emma too! She’s one of my favorite Texas Dreamers since Key. I think she hit her first event.
  3. dianajc99 Says:
    maybe daughter #3 is the charm for the schenikovas??
  4. Jessica Says:
    This is a very boring competition.
    Those Texas Dreams leos….burn them.
  5. dianajc99 Says:
    to help honor gymnasts with the presentation of medals..
    Or you could have just said stay for awards but whatever?
  6. Sainabou Nyang Says:
    This meet was meh. Saw a lot of good NCAA gymnast though. USA at worlds is gonna be interesting.
  7. Mim Says:
    I really like Adeline Kenlin and Morgan Hurd but so many of these seniors lack pizazz. I think I’m the only person on earth who isn’t really on board with McCusker. I know she looks like Nastia type gymnast and does that bendy Nastia chest dance move on floor that makes everyone thinks she’s got great lines and artistry but she looks very fragile and like she won’t have the stamina to get though the quad. The only floor routines I liked were Morgan’s and surprisingly the Texas Dreams girls.
    • G Says:
      Cometely agree with you about Riley, I’d be mega surprised if she makes it through the quad because she really does look fragile. And with Maggie Haney having her compete when she’s so far from ready the chances of her not breaking over and over are slim.
  8. Cupquaked Says:
    I know it’s just classics but it seems like the days of US domination are over. I’m thinking if Komova comes back, she’s got a good chance of getting those golds in the AA. Unless Iordache gets back to full strength. Then I’d put my money on her. Her and Kyla were the only two to ever get close to beating Simone at her peak.
    • Gymbot Says:
      Regan Smith and Morgan Hurd looked fine for me. The girl with Amanar and Rudi combo also had big tumbling on floor so I think worlds looks ok for the US. Too bad for Ashton, I think problems aside this version of Schennikova and even Riley are probably going to outclass her
  9. imperatorcarolus Says:
    Thank you very much, GTT. I can’t thank you enough for live blogging it, specially if it wasn’t very good. What a mistake-full competition! I was used to see USA walk through routines almost without mistakes, and this high level of mistakes is surprising. Why Reagan only competed on bars and beam? And Hurd had a O on vault? And Schchennikova is the best AAer with scores in the 12’s and 13’s? I am very surprised. Besides Reagan as AAer, is there any promising senior that missed this competition that could be a threat on Worlds?
  10. imperatorcarolus Says:
    Seems that Cata is going to present a new BB mount:
    • Gymbot Says:
      I spy the full twisting double layout in there as well. Anyone know what they’re saying? Where is Iordache? Do they only have have Ponor left and the 7 year olds they interviewed?
      • imperatorcarolus Says:
        The last news I have of Iordache is that she is going to compete at the Universidade and she will Romania’s flag bearer. I don’t know why she is not in the clip, but maybe she simply wasn’t there. She was in may in the Koper Cup, so maybe it was recorded then.This is her BB from that competition:
  11. Gymnast41 Says:
    Apparently camp is spent refining skills and working on new things/technique instead of reps of routines like camps with Marta…so kinda explains the splat fest yesterday.
    My worlds team is Ragan, jade carey, Hurd/mckusker, and Ashton. Not really feeling Alyona tbh…
  12. Delaney Says:
    Lauren Hopkins is talking shit about you again. She believes you are some girl that uses twitter and is telling anyone who will listen that this person is you. She’s even gotten a few people that follow this girl to block you. I don’t know what she is saying but it must be pretty bad.
    You should also know one of the people who posts here is bad mouthing you all over the internet. She uses the same name on twitter as she uses here. Just thought you might want to know.
    • gymtruthteller Says:
      Someone told me that Lauren is almost 30 ( Do not know if that’s true) If she really feels the need to troll the “gymternet ” and bad mouth me then so be it. That says a lot more about her than it says about me. I am sorry to hear others are being involved. I have never been apart of a fandom as whiny and easily offended as the adults watching gymnastics.
      As for the other person who posts here bad mouthing me I have received multiple E-Mails about it (If it’s the same person) and know all about it. Look, this blog is me being honest and if anyone has an issue with it they can leave. When you’re as honest as I am eventually something I say will offend you so this person can either stay and be a hypocrite or leave. No one is bigger than the point of this blog.
    • G Says:
      I can’t read the Gymternet articles anymore because its so passive aggressive and fake objective. Girl needs to grow up
    • Mim Says:
      I thought Lauren said the person causing her grief on twitter was a trampoline gymnast? I follow her blog/twitter but have never seen her mention GTT.
      If people aren’t happy with your posts GTT then I’m not sure why they comment here. Bizarre.
      • gymtruthteller Says:
        It’s been awhile since she talked shit online from the email I got she now does it in email and PM’s but I literally don’t care unless she is the one that sent that threatening email / Facebook message to that lady a few years ago then we have issues . Accusing others of being me is immature and insane .
      • JAS4 Says:
        I had to quit following her and spanny on Twitter and Tumblr because they got on my nerves. I couldn’t take all the Nastia and Gabby butt kissing post anymore.😂 It was nauseating!
  13. sanitynmotion Says:
    I didn’t even watch this and frankly don’t care. How bad is that? Marta did leave at the right time and I feel like she knew it.
    I am hoping there are good juniors in the works?
    • JAS4 Says:
      I wish Maggie and Skinner were still competing elite! They would both be great for Worlds this year!
      • gymnerd Says:
        One, if not both of them, got screwed. I kind of like the idea of USAG begging and Skinner giving them a giant middle finger.
    • Mim Says:
      I wish Martha was still around, admittedly! Say what you will about her but I prefer her to Valeri.
  14. dianajc99 Says:
    Hey looks like we are finally getting an official junior world championships in 2019.
  15. imperatorcarolus Says:
    Olympic games in LA and Paris! It would be too much to ask for Aliya and Komova to hold on until 2024, wouldn’t it?
    • Cupquaked Says:
      I’m surprised they already decided. The vote wasn’t supposed to happen until October, I thought.
      But both plans looked SO good. I’m glad the Olympics will be in countries that can actually afford them. I’m already making plans for Paris. I have family that lives right outside the city!
      • imperatorcarolus Says:
        Great, Cupquaked! I live in Madrid, so Paris is close enough for me to consider going to see something. I would love to go to see any gymnastic competition (both artistic and rhytmic), maybe skating and if I am lucky also swimming!
    • Akshay Says:
      Remember, the original 2024 American bid was for Boston. If Boston had been awarded the 2028 Olympics, maybe GTT could have hosted a party for regulars here, and then we all could’ve gone to see the Team Finals or something.
      • gymnerd Says:
        That would have been so much fun. Maybe we should all meet up in LA in 11 years.
      • gymtruthteller Says:
        I made a post for that. Party at my house but I do find it funny LA doesn’t mind illegal aliens breaking the law and stealing people’s tax money or the ones on welfare that shouldn’t be here so why care if the real Americans pay for a sporting competition where all the tickets will go to celebrities????
      • gymnerd Says:
        Preach.
  16. imperatorcarolus Says:
    Ellie Downie has said that she won’t compete at Worlds. It seems that she injuried her ankle at British Nationals and had surgery. She says that she won’t be ready for Worlds, so she won’t compete. What a surprise! Things were looking great for her AA (and floor) possibilities this year.
    • JAS4 Says:
      She definitely could have medal in AA at worlds. Although I think it is smarter to take the time to heal properly now while it’s still early in the quad!
      • imperatorcarolus Says:
        Yes, I think so, too. But I was surprised to hear this, as I didn’t know she was injuried. And I little sad too, because I thought she could medalled for sure and we don’t know how fierce competition will be next year. But if she isn’t ready because of injuries, of course there isn’t anything else to do 😦
  17. KG Says:
    I haven’t commented on here in forever but do still read!! Thanks GTT for live blogging!
    I just CAN NOT get excited about this quad. I have never been this unenthused about gymnastics. I’d honestly have been more excited if Rhonda had taken over from Marta. And yes, Before anyone says it, I’m aware running a college team is highly different than the national team. Maybe I thought she’d be a breath of fresh air? Valeri’s reign just seems like it won’t be any different than the Karolyi’s, just maybe less medals, but same broken athletes and favoritism, and probably the same pressure from USAG to throw up GD’s name (or the like) for good NBC PR.
    I think my lackadaisical attitude also has to do with the poor international showing.
    I don’t know, someone give me a gymnast to root for?
    • gymtruthteller Says:
      Welcome back. I give you Lillian Lipeatt ( and I probably spelled that wrong) she’s like 11.
      YES GYMNASTICS IS BORING but there is no reason you need to leave. Come here and talk anything else.
    • Akshay Says:
      Yup, we basically agree. It’s hard to get enthused about Gymnastics lately.
    • Sainabou Nyang Says:
      The only thing I like about this quad is that there is no guaranteed winner. Its anyones game. The playing field is a little more even, that is until Simone returns😄 if she does.
  18. Case Says:
    Gymnastics is so boring I can barely stand it right now. So GTT, do you miss the Panda?
    • Cupquaked Says:
      I literally was just thinking, this is the first year that I am not excited about championships at all. It’s just so boring. The only gymnast I even marginally like is Ragan. Everyone else is either injured, retired, or taking a break. Ugh.
    • gymtruthteller Says:
      I liked Pablo. I always felt like the media in Boston needs someone to blame and the decided Panda was their guy. So yes, I do kind of miss him. He was a nice guy. His teammates liked him but I must say I do love Nunez. He’s better than advertised.
      • dianajc99 Says:
        I miss panda too. still have the hat. wee scapegoated him for some stuff too.
      • gymtruthteller Says:
        You didn’t scapegoat him as bad as Boston did. The media here is tragic.
      • Case Says:
        Now I have to ask you about Price. I know he’s always been your favorite player, even in his pre-Boston days.
        Since my team is out of it I have nothing better to do. 😉
      • gymtruthteller Says:
        I am on my way to Fenway as we speak:) I have always hated him. Eck annoys me with his Yankee love (all our announcers annoy because of that) He’s human waste. He needs to be traded. It says it all that he didn’t apologize and actually defended his comments then played hurt and went on the DL to avoid the fans taking him down. I am literally on my way to Fenway as we speak so these comments are rather calm but I have more when I have time:)
      • Case Says:
        Agree. Price was able to hold back his inner diva for one year, but now his true colors are showing. I didn’t think he’d be able to take the heat in Boston. He needs to go pitch for an obscure small market team again.
      • dianajc99 Says:
        Holy crap we got the panda back.. when did that happen
      • gymtruthteller Says:
        2 weeks ago. The stupid Red Sox like blowing money so they are paying him to play for you guys. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE NUNEZ (were keeping him forever even if he is an ex Yankee) but poor Pablo was never given a chance.
      • dianajc99 Says:
        ok so it didn’t cost us any money..
  20. dianajc99 Says:
    apparently its the anniversary of gabby winning the Olympic AA. so spanny freaking out
    • gymtruthteller Says:
      Spanny is a nice girl with a bit of a stalker addiction. All kidding aside a few years ago she bad mouthed me then came here when I replied about what she said about me. She said something like, I bet we would be friends in the real world. We then exchanged a few e-mails and I forgot about it til now.
      I don’t think she likes confrontation. She loves Gabby. We all have our faults 🙂
      I actually heard from an insider that a lot of people like Gabby’s mother. She is actually very personable . Then I was told by a different insider that the Douglas family is very much two faced. They like to talk shit behind the backs of people which makes them the worst kind of people.
      Kind of like Gabby in that article saying her and the final 5 were never friends. Yet she doesn’t act that way when she runs into them say… at the ESPY’s.
      As for me I don’t mind confrontation. I don’t need insiders not that I would ever turn one away if they want to share info with me. But I prefer this place to stay gymnastics fan friendly.
  21. imperatorcarolus Says:
    Beckie Downie won’t be at Worlds either. She is still recovering from the elbow injury she sustained at Europeans, so it will be a Downie-less Worlds. 😦
  22. Cupquaked Says:
    Andreea Raducan is now the president of the Romanian Federation. I think it’s a good move.
