Live Blogging: Womens Olympic Trials Prelims

Comment of the night:

Gymnastike: Shannon Miller on Raisman’s bars – “I kind of want to glue her legs together. and point her toes”

Lol

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The news is talking to Aly’s grandfather. He says she puts a lot of time into gymnastics and that she should go to the Olympics. Now they mention Alicia, Aly said she was scared of Alicia at first but now they are good friends. (Old interview) They are live in Needham:)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jordyn did her job but if Gabby has hit the Uneven bar she would have been in second. The fix is really in.

I am going to give Gabby credit for hitting floor. That was great for her but there is NO WAY anyone is getting a 9.00 in execution. It’s a joke to even think they will. Gabby was overscored on vault too.

Kyla, you need to hit that damn Amanar and fix beam. Did anyone else see the bitchy look on Nastia’s face after Kyla fell on vault? You know she wanted to smile.

Mckayla’s floor score was funny high but I am glad she hit.

I still say the same Olympic team. Kyla hit her alleged best events tonight. This will piss her off for night two.

What do you think???

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I guess I am fine with this. Who needs to peak now, In a month but Kyla, Kyla, Kyla:(
ALY is leading off the news in Boston, Go Aly:)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Aly OOB, Both feet on first pass, sigh

Damn, Price ahead of Kyla in the AA.

COME ON KYLA- Shit, she fell on her Amanar. DAMN, DAMN, DAMN

WAY TO ROLL YOUR EYES NASTIA. What a bitch. Yep, Kyla has your spot. Deal with it.

Come on Mckayla: Floor- STUCK, 3.5 Hit second pass, small hop. She HIT, Yes! and I don’t even like her.lol

15.200, yep, umm no but okay.lol

Gabby-Vault: Amanar- If that gets a 16.100 I am going to flip.lol, FLIP

She got a 15.800.lol Give me a break. MARTA SUCKS.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I was wrong. Gabby needs a 16.100 on vault. If she hits they will give her her close to it.
Sure is taking long for Jordyn’s score on floor, 15.400.
Wieber- floor: Stuck double, double. Stuck second pass, stuck triple turn? I don’t think she was OOB but it was close. Great routine.
Price- Floor: Can this kid tumble but her dance is, Maloney-esque.
14.900
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

They skipped Mckayla on beam, she only got a 13. She needs to hit floor.

Price only got a 14.500 on the UB but we didn’t see it so who knows why.

You were going to select Nastia Elfi? Why, because she screwed up 3 of the 4 routines at Nationals.

THIS BOARD HAS TO GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You knew Gabby was going to get a gift on floor. Only 7 tenths behind Jordyn. Jordyn still has floor.

Kyla-floor: Hit routine but no upgrade. OMG, UPGRADE KYLA. 14.500. I will never understand why she is doing a double twist. It makes no sense. Even a double pike makes more sense.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
They better NOT skip Kyla on floor.
Gabby-floor: Gabby hit floor, God help us what this score will be.lol She hit her passes with the cheap leaps out. Whose calling a 15.500?????????? Close, a 15.450. Thank God the Olympic judges will never give anyone a 9.250 execution score on floor.
Jordyn – beam: hit beam. I was too nervous but she missed one connection, hit two others.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Why did Kyla get rid of Phantom of the Opera???? Nope. A mistake by a commenter:)

Vega- OOB but hit floor for her.

I think that 15 was a gift for Alicia on beam.
NOOOOOO, Go away Kerri.

WHY, do we keep seeing Vega? She is second to last. Marta is going to name her an alternate because of her coach.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sacramone: Bobble filled beam but not bad. She stayed on and for some reason I found myself rooting for her to stay on. What am I on.lol
Finnegan-floor: near fall. Too bad. She is pretty on floor.
Aly-Beam: one big bobble but the rest was typical Aly,
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Elizabth Price is in second, woo whoo:) She needs to keep hitting because she is our alternate. She is Allyse Ashino.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Live link, not NBC. You need to download something.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

They raised Kyla’s beam score to a 14.900. I wonder why?
Bross- beam: Off. Go home with Nastia. She is hitting the rest. I bet she nails the dismount.lol Another bobble, Here we go, Nope, on her ass. She’s crying.
Gabby- beam: switch leap was short of degree, a few bobbles and a missed connection. If this gets a 15 I am done.lol 14.900 No complainst for me, yet:)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Vega- Beam: hit, I didn’t pay close attention.
Mckayla on bars- Horrible messy, yuck.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jas, Kyla missed two connections. Her first where she didn’t even do the second skill, and one other. Finnegan missed almost half her connections and still got credit for a 6.7 start value. That will not happen at the Olympics. Don’t they remember Mccool?.

Jordyn has the ugliest bedroom I have ever seen. Cute filming by her brother.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Nastia-beam: she did okay till she missed her switch ring NO CREDIT, not even close. Sorry retire already. A 14.500 is way too high but whatever. We know Marta is on control.
Jordyn-bars: nailed new dismount, muscled her weiler kips but pretty good
Finnegan-beam: messy connections all the way through and she had bigger bobbles then Kyla but it wasn’t bad but she should not get a lot of connection bonus.
Kyla-Beam: she missed the first connections and the sheep connection, had two small bobbles but she stayed on. Stuck the dismount. 14.600 NOT good enough but will take.
Aly: Bars: She hit, well for her.lol Form is so icky.lol
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
sanitynmotion, You are right. They do think we at home are stupid about this code.

Nastia is not quitting. I guess she likes looking like a fool. It is almost like they have told her, you’re in just hitonce so she doesn’t care and I am still pissed they did not show Anna on bars.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
How do you ignore Anna on bars NBC?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Gabby- she messed up , KYLA WAS BETTER

Gift for Gabby, a 15.250, really?
Anna Li- UB: No Anna, Thanks NBC
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Come on ANNA.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Nastia still gets over a 14 for that shit. That score should be impossible. The mess up before the dismount was a freaking huge break even before the dismount and now we get Phelps? urgh.

Nastia doesn’t even care. wow

Vega fell on bars

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jordyn, vault: Amanar. Almost stuck, good enough.
Nastia- UB: FALL ON DISMOUNT: It was not flawless, missed handstands
Price- Vault: Amanar: neat stuck, pretty good.
Finnegan- bars: good for her, step.
Sacramone – vault: small step and messy form by landing, she looks mad.
Ross- Come on Kyla, stuck dismount, A-W-S-O-M-E 15.500
Vault: stiff legged amanar but good enough-15.550
Bross- UB- leg seps but not as bad as usual, stuck dismount. GREAT for her. 15.300
Maroney- Vault: Amanar- nice but a step Vault 2- short on second vault, underotated but good enough.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Marta talks, I tune out. Just start the competition already.
Okay, here we go:) 1 minute. WAIT, Now they say they will be back in twenty for helps, WTF
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
5 minutes to go and I have NBC on. The boy knows how I am so he is giving me a hard time but he will give me the television, I have my ways:) I still have the fake site online, just in case.
9 minutes to go. My feed is 10 seconds off of NBC so make sure you all chime in if Nastia messes up.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Here is the link to the competition quick hits from Examiner.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
According to Jas, Bridget Sloan might be injured, via twitter. What a fun night. Marta has her first kill. I also read a few days ago Finnegan might be injured.
Elbow is what twitter says.
My TV says this things starts at 9 pm. Then I hear 8 PM. So which is it?
It’s the damn Olympic trials and people are wearing pink and purple. What happened to using the same leotards and switching on day 2?
This twitter has some far away pictures. Of course Nastia is in throw up pink. I think it was Jas that put the link.
I can’t find a link for the online coverage of Trials for NBC so I might be gone during day one. Let me look around.
Alicia is wearing the team finals leotard from 2008. This girl is ready and fighting her demons.lol You go girl.
Live up-dates from IG on facebook.
Bridget Sloan is out. Damn you Marta. Kill the fun ones and leave Nastia as healthy as a horse. Of course she kills the UB worker.
Quick hits from warm up.
From now on I will be live blogging up so ALL new comments will be at the top.
    I read Finnegan was falling on beam in warmups. Bridget injured NO…sigh…yeah, the alternate position might just be super key this time around.
  2. JAS4 Says:
    At this rate she’ll break everyone before the Olympics
  3. JAS4 Says:
  4. sanitynmotion Says:
    Update: Bridget Sloan has scratched from the competition. More details to follow.
    Another one bites the dust. FUCK.
    • JAS4 Says:
      • gymtruthteller Says:
        Bridgets best interest or USA-Gymnastics best interest?
      • JAS4 Says:
        Less competition for Nastia is what they ment to say lol
      • gymtruthteller Says:
        It didn’t take them long to scratch her on the start list
      • JAS4 Says:
        I’m sure USAG/Marta was all like well you don’t want to risk permanent injury so you can compete at Florida and blah blah blah blah…. Then when they are away from Bridget Marta is probably like How many more to we have to get out of Nastia’s way
        Watch out Bross you might be next on Marta’s list
      • gymtruthteller Says:
        I hate that I have to root for so many people I don’t like to hit just to keep Nastia away.lol
      • JAS4 Says:
        Yeah I wonder how many more will get broken so Nastia can make the team
  5. Kel Says:
    Live blog from Couch Gymnast said Nastia just did a “horrifying” pak with lots of help from her Dad. Wonder if that will continue in the competition???
  6. Kel Says:
    Bummer about Bridget, but I think she was a long shot to even be an alternate. Just a sad way to go out…
  7. sanitynmotion Says:
    I hope ASac doesn’t freak that Sloan is injured the way she freaked when Sam was injured in ’08…
  8. Kel Says:
    Gabby and Kyla are hitting their bar routines in warm-ups. Keep it going girls! Couch Gymnast is awesome…live blogging and sitting next to Dominque Dawes.
    • gymtruthteller Says:
      Kel, you are at Trials??????
      • Kel Says:
        No…I wish!!! Just reporting what Coach Gymnast is saying, who is at Trials. Great updates from Coach Gymnast about who is hitting what…who looks good, who doesn’t.
      • gymtruthteller Says:
        I’ll have to check that out but I don’t follow her on facebook. Thanks
      • Kel Says:
        Just google Couch Gymnast…not Coach…that was a typo 🙂 There is a link on the website to the live blogging…great updates from all the warm-ups. I know warm-ups are not always an indication of what will happen in competition, but I imagine Marta is still there watching. Sounds like Sarah was really struggling and Nastia was having problems on Bars.
      • gymtruthteller Says:
        I found it. Thanks. I knew who you meant.
        Nastia is just winging this. It reminds me of Sasha Cohen and the last Olympics.
  9. Catherine Says:
    I am getting very confused by the three different timezones..mine and the other two and whether or not NBC are delaying the webcast..will streaming of the comp actually start in 20 minutes, yeah? My stream is the illegal one, not the official one but I doubt it makes a difference..
  10. E Says:
    Here’s NBC’s link to the broadcast…although I think you need a cable account to be able to view it.
  11. sanitynmotion Says:
    I can’t effing log in via NBC.com because ATT Uverse sucks. Sh*t. Guess i’ll have to watch the broadcast later or find it on YouTube.
  12. E Says:
    AHHH….forgot to paste the link in my previous comment lol. http://www.nbcolympics.com/liveextra/video-watch/2012/june-29-gymnastics-w.html
    You need to have a web account with a supported provider of NBC/Universal Sports to view it.
  13. Catherine Says:
    Guys the spanny tampson link is working internationally..also on full twist twitter. Stream 2.
    It took a whole..3 seconds to mention Nastia! Record.
  14. Anonymous Says:
    At first I thought WHY is Kyla wearing Nastia pink? Eww. But then I thought maybe she is saying Hey Nastia, I am stealing your leo and your Olympic spot too… watch this FULL bar routine with a stuck dismount!
  15. Melissa Says:
    Yay For Kyla’s bars!!
  16. Melissa Says:
    Oh Nastia. Anyone think she’ll bow out now?
  17. JAS4 Says:
    Nastia should not have tried that dismount she knew was tired
  18. Catherine Says:
    OH MY GOD..I was waiting for it but still shocking..
  19. sanitynmotion Says:
    Double yay for that major FLOP from Nastia!!! Thanks GTT for sending me that link…worked!
    I’m so STOKED she just sat on her butt. YES #hotpinkmyass
  20. JAS4 Says:
    and yet Nastia still gets a 14.050 for that
  21. Catherine Says:
    Idiot to do the dismount, that’s the most laboured slowest routine I’ve ever seen.
  22. Kel Says:
    How do you score in the 14’s when you fall on your ass?!
    • Gigi Says:
      You’re on the Karolyi payroll.
    • Gymsurfer Says:
      But 14 is not good enough, right? Right?
      • Kel Says:
        No…I stand by what I said earlier. If Kyla hits, she’s going. Kyla got a 15.5. How in the world would Marta justify taking Nastia after she fell on her ass in Trials and performed so poorly at Nationals? Nastia had to hit 2 bar routines…not just 1.
      • gymtruthteller Says:
        not good enough but still proof marta will fix this if she has the chance. a 15.1 would have been too high
  23. Biyatch Says:
    Wondering how Bridget getting hurt is affecting Alicia. Seemed the two of them had gotten very close.
  24. JAS4 Says:
    Marta thats how lol
  25. Sarah Says:
    There’s no way Marta’s going to be able to take Nastia after that routine.
  26. Catherine Says:
    Nastia clearly cursed the bars…WTF..
  27. Gymbee Says:
    Man the nervous feeling I have watching Gabby in the Trials does not bode well for how I will feel when (if) she competes in Team Finals! 😦
  28. JAS4 Says:
    if she still scores higher than Kyla and Anna I say its fixed
  29. Catherine Says:
    American ads are so different ha. I hope Gabby hits everything else but I want ti to become more obvious that McKayla’s floor should be used over hers..
  30. JAS4 Says:
    Gabby got a 15.250 with a major error
  31. Biyatch Says:
    Gabbys score is such bullshit.
  32. Gymbee Says:
    Haha the VO just said “Remember, the top AA spot after night 2 is the only guaranteed spot for the Olympics team in London” – is he just dumb, or is the team not going to be announced at trials after all?
    • Gymbee Says:
      Honestly, he just said it again “Jordyn is looking to pick that ONE spot to the Olympics after these 2 days”.
  33. Catherine Says:
    Wow, you can bet if McKayla has the same error but smaller like at Nationals Day 1 you can you guarantee her score will be hammered for it. Gabby probably will still beat Jordyn.
  34. Kel Says:
    Kyla and Anna will probably be tied for 1st for bars after night 1, but Kyla had better execution scores which Marta prefers. Nastia was 7th out of 8 in her group for bars. I think the reason her score was so high was because of her start value (6.5).
  35. JAS4 Says:
    i know Kyla had some wobbles and missed connections but only a 14.6 that seems low
    • Gymsurfer Says:
      Yeah, why so low? Can someone explain?
      • gymtruthteller Says:
        she left out her first connection and missed one later on. Start value was a 6.0
      • Kel Says:
        Her execution score was actually pretty good, but they put her difficulty at a 5.7. The missed connections really hurt her difficulty score. She seemed so concerned about staying on that she was almost too timid.
      • Gymsurfer Says:
        Gotcha. Thanks.
  36. JAS4 Says:
    Jordyn got a 15.350 on bars
  37. Catherine Says:
    14.6 is a little low alright.
  38. JAS4 Says:
    Nastia a 14.500 for beam
  39. Kel Says:
    Nastia scored lower than Kyla on beam…14.5. Kyla’s gotta do better on beam in night 2 though….if she’s going it’s for bars and beam. Bars = great…Beam = usually great…not so perfect tonight.
  40. JAS4 Says:
    Kyla, Gabby, and Jordyn all had a 6.4 SV on bars
  41. JAS4 Says:
    Vega 14.250 on beam
  42. Catherine Says:
    I’m sure the selection committee will be so concerned about McKayla;s fall from bars, she is a lock for AA and EF gold on bars!
  43. JAS4 Says:
    Gabby did pretty decent on her routine but who wants to bet she will be ridiculously over scored
  44. JAS4 Says:
    14.900 for Gabby’s beam
  45. Kel Says:
    Um…they just raised Kyla’s score to a 14.9?
  46. Catherine Says:
    WHAT is the story with beam, everyone’s fecking it up.
  47. JAS4 Says:
    I feel bad for Bross
    • Dee Says:
      Me too. I kept saying to my friend I have no idea how you even walk into the arena and perform knowing it does not matter what you do…you still are not going to London…
      Watching her seriously kills me, I feel so horrible for her. Just a little less than 2 years ago we all thought she was going for sure.
  48. Ace Says:
    Anyone know where I can watch online streaming of the competition broadcast?
  49. The GYM JUICE Says:
    Interesting that Jordyn is from such a small town, when most of the olympians are from huge metro areas. Also, why does rebecca STROLL CASUALLY into her Patterson?! She needs to do a powerful roundoff like Aly!
  50. Gymsurfer Says:
    Poor Rebecca. She’s a goner. She was never gonna be picked but still. What a sad way to end things.
  51. JAS4 Says:
    someone needs to do an intervention with Bross about that Patterson dismount
    • The GYM JUICE Says:
      Valeri knows she won’t make the team with a fall, but he also knows she won’t make it without the difficulty the Patterson gives her. So he just lets her go for it.
  52. Kel Says:
    Gabby and Kyla tie for 2nd on their beam rotation…good enough for now…
    Nastia and Rebecca…I feel bad for Rebecca…not so much for Nastia. I wish they would find a way to bow out gracefully, but I think it’s a little late for that. Doesn’t Nastia want her legacy to be the Olympic All-Around and not this?
    • gymtruthteller Says:
      Doesn’t matter. Kyla needs to upgrade floor or she might as well forget about the AA. Marta will not let that happen.
      • Kel Says:
        Very true, but I just want to see her make the team. I think she could qualify for some event finals (maybe bars…maybe beam if she improves a bit).
    • Gymsurfer Says:
      You would think. Maybe she was under pressure from her sponsors to keep goingagainst her will?
    • The GYM JUICE Says:
      I almost think Martha will give Nastia right up until the games to get her bars ready. I could see her putting Nastia as an alternate and then changing things up at the last minute if her bars gets better
  53. JAS4 Says:
    they didn’t change her SV or anything just her E score to an 8.9
  54. Kel Says:
    They raised Kyla’s difficulty from a 5.7 to a 6.0.
  55. JAS4 Says:
    Marta has probabaly told Nastia that if she can get through one bar routine she is on the team and that is why she seems so smug
    • gymtruthteller Says:
      That is what I think. All we need is for her to fall off bars tomorrow and it doesn’t matter what she does. There is no way Marta can name her to this team even as an alternate.
  56. JAS4 Says:
    14.950 for Aly on beam
  57. JAS4 Says:
    I am still a little disappointed that Alicia didn’t go for the FHS Double on Vault lol
  58. Gymsurfer Says:
    I think I want Alicia over McKayla.
  59. JAS4 Says:
    Alicia 15.000 on beam
    • Gymbee Says:
      Woo she beat Gabby!
      Daggett is whining about the judges being soooo much more strict on beam this time than at Visas. Get used to it haha.
  60. The GYM JUICE Says:
    Kyla got rid of Phanton of the Opera????? But I liked it!:((
  61. Gymsurfer Says:
    Bela is a tanorexic.
  62. JAS4 Says:
    Jordyn 15.050 on beam and so far Gabby seems to be doing pretty good on floor but im sure more over scoring will occur as usual
  63. JAS4 Says:
    watch them give her like a 15.8 like they did Aly at Nationals lol
  64. JAS4 Says:
    15.450 for Gabby on floor
  65. Catherine Says:
    15.45 FUCK
  66. JAS4 Says:
    I wish Kyla would upgrade her floor to at least a 5.8-5.9 D score if she did it with the execution she could score at least high 14s and why on earth do Tim and Elfie have Gabby on beam
  67. Catherine Says:
    YES the board!!! So, absolutely no clean beam routines then? Damnit Mckayla HIT FLOOR
  68. Gymbee Says:
    The Nastia lovers on twitter are delusional. They honestly think she is going to win the Olympics. Even the Swedish gymnast Wagner is with them “that’s like the 2nd best routine in the world!”
    Someone called her heavy, and people are up in arms hahaha.
  69. JAS4 Says:
    I am waiting for them to give Gabby huge gifts on vault and lowball Jordyn on floor to put Gabby ahead or at least really close so they can overscore her into the number one spot Sunday
    • gymtruthteller Says:
      They can’t. Jordyn is ahead by 7 tenths. I don’t think they can. It just CANNOT HAPPEN:)
  70. JAS4 Says:
    14.9 on floor for Elizabeth and of course Gabby will go on Vault after Jordyn on Floor
  71. JAS4 Says:
    if Jordyn doesn’t score higher than Gabby its total crap
  72. JAS4 Says:
    Jordyn gets a 15.400 for Floor with the same D Score as Gabby even though her execution was way better
  73. JAS4 Says:
    im calling it now Gabby will tie Jordyn
  74. JAS4 Says:
    nope 15.8 lol
  75. JAS4 Says:
    I would much rather see Kyla do clean DTYs but Marta wont have that
  76. JAS4 Says:
    15.2 for McKayla on Floor I dont see that happening internationally more like high 14s
  77. JAS4 Says:
    Aly 15.600 on Floor
  78. JAS4 Says:
    I think that Marta wanted to go out of her way to make sure McKayla out scored Elizabeth on Floor if you look at the scores you can tell who Marta wants on the team and right now Kyla is in 5th which I think if Nastia hits Marta will try to give Kyla’s spot to Nastia
    • sanitynmotion Says:
      Agghhh don’t say that. I didn’t get to watch most of it. I hope for YouTube videos later. Damn work schedule. Sigh.
      Kyla fell on her amanar? Yeah – see…Marta called that.
      From the way things sound basically everyone but Jordyn had mistakes that they need to fix. Well, besides the fact Jordyn needs to change her beam…
    • K Says:
      Kyla is in 5th because of Kyla, not Marta.
      • gymtruthteller Says:
        Tonight I agree with you, sort of because Price can tumble but that floor routine is horrid dance wise. The artistry police will kill that routine at worlds. Kyla hit the events she needed too so I say she still makes this team.
  79. Gymsurfer Says:
    Aly can do better than that on floor. And beam too. Shewas clearly nervous tonight.
  80. JAS4 Says:
    http://live.usagym.org/index.d.html list of all scores
  81. Ace Says:
    sorry to disagree, but most of them got a 9.0+ E score on floor, including aly raisman.
    • gymtruthteller Says:
      They won’t get that at the Olympics. NONE of them. That is my whole point. Feel free to disagree with me.lol
      Aly’s best score last year was barely over 15 in the event finals.
      • sanitynmotion Says:
        I agree. Floor scoring is ridic. Gabby is going to be shocked when her floor in London is like 14.5…and Aly’s will be 15.1…and Jordan’s 14.9…
      • Anonymous Says:
        Aly had an 8.8 or 8.9 in execution in event finals at Worlds. The reason her score was barely over a 15 was because her difficulty was 6.1/6.2… now her difficultly is 6.5. So even if she gets an 8.5 execution at the Olympics she would still have a 15.
  82. Kel Says:
    Kyla didn’t leave the best lasting impression with that near sit, but I agree that she hit the events she needed to hit. All that matters on Sunday is she hits bars and beam. Period! Who wants to bet though that Marta says something about how improved Nastia’s bar routine was until the very end. UGH! Please fall on Sunday. PLEASE!!!
    • gymtruthteller Says:
      Kyla isn’t Vaulting at the Olympics anyway unless Marta wants to really fix this for Gabby and take Aly out of the AA.
      If this team is who we think, who can she leave out.
      Jordyn, Aly, Gabby, Mckayla, Kyla ????? Kyla will be left out especially if she falls again.
      • terrigymfan Says:
        Price looked good. I could see Marta taking her instead of Kyla or maybe McKayla. Possible but still think probably not. If Price hits again Sunday though, it’s going to be a tough decision.
        Nastia is history now even with Marta.
      • gymtruthteller Says:
        Price hit her Amanar and floor but her bars was only a 14.500. There is no third bar worker if she takes price.
        Jordyn, Gabby, Elizabeth, Mckyala and Aly. Price getting a 14.500 won’t stand out in finals.
        I think mckayla hits floor on day 2 and she is in. That overscored floor routine was huge. Marta just told her, hit and you are in. Through the judges.
        Do you mean left out of vault or left out of the Olympics completely?
      • gymtruthteller Says:
        Vault. There is no way even if she hit she was scoring what Gabby scored and they won’t take Aly out of the AA. That leaves Kyla off vault and floor
      • Kel Says:
        I don’t think Marta will take Price over Kyla because she needs Kyla’s bar scores and hopefully her beam scores. Price doesn’t score well on either of those events. If Price goes, I think it will be to replace McKayla. At this point, I can definitely see her being an alternate. I can see Alicia being an alternate too. If Nastia stays on bars, on Sunday, I can see her being an alternate although I would give her alternate spot to Bross or Li soley for their bars.
      • Kel Says:
        Got it…agreed. Kyla just needs to get bars and beam on Sunday. Hit those and she can punch her ticket.
      • sanitynmotion Says:
        And this has been Marta’s plan all along; if she can’t get away with not taking Kyla to London, she’ll mess with her AA chances by getting in her head about vault and making her keep her floor D score low. Those are the two apparatuses that Aly can make the gains on Kyla – and Marta obviously wants her two pets to at least give Jordyn a run for her money.
      • terrigymfan Says:
        Good point about bars. That means she just about has to take Kyla over Price. Plus Marta loves that supposed “international look” of Kyla. Price is better all around than Mckayla but she adds more to the team with her vault so I agree Marta will bend over backward to take her. I do feel sorry for Price. She is very solid but has been too far under the radar. I think she would make rhe team if there were six slots.
      • sanitynmotion Says:
        Price is like last quad’s Bieger…almost. “Almost,” but not quite. I think she should be an alternate though. She lacks the experience so I can’t see Marta taking Price over Maroney, who is basically a lock for that vault gold. I really like Price, ASac, and Finnegan for the alternates; is Finnegan injured?
        I also think Ross got screwed with the floor thing but that’s her and her coaches fault. I hope she sticks around after London because I feel like she still has more to offer. I kind of hope they all stick around; with this new age rule and the fact they can’t compete at international competitions as seniors until they are 16 (Shawn got to compete at worlds when she was 15, they since changed that), I feel like we just get introduced to these girls and then BAM they are gone.
        It really sucks about Bridget; what a catastrophe. I feel awful for Bross; was she crying? Yikes. No way will Marta take her.
        To London 2012: a WOGA-free Olympics it looks like!
      • gymtruthteller Says:
        Bieger had a history of success. price has nothing.
      • gymtruthteller Says:
        Bieger had a history of success. Price does not.
    Anyone else notice how on nbc.com the headline says Jordyn leads but the main pic is of Gabby? Then another article headline “Gabby chases Jordyn after day 1 of trials.”
    Sheesh can they be more obvious about who they want the next “it” girl to be…
    Nastia’s fall on bars
    http://www.nbcolympics.com/video/gymnastics/nastia-liukin-falls-on-bars-at-trials.html
    • gymtruthteller Says:
      She did better then Nationals but she was still off on two of her handstands in the bi-ono connections. Off on the handstand before the release and her feet came apart. There was still so many place to deduct and they did and should have deducted more.
  85. sanitynmotion Says:
    Kyla should stick with her DTY and upgrade floor. But that’s not gonna happen. I have a bad feeling about all these girls doing amanars and heading off into Marta’s training camps.
    I have a feeling an alternate will end up having to be used. Hopefully I’m just being paranoid again.
    Why did Gabby downgrade her bars routine? She should be trying for a 6.7+ difficulty by now, especially if she wants a shot getting a medal in London.
    • gymtruthteller Says:
      She nailed the Amanar all week. This has to be in her head. Maybe 2016 will be her Olympics to shine and now she will just be part of the team.
      She needs to upgrade floor. A double twist? I don’t get it. Even a double Pike would make more sense.
  86. Catherine Says:
    Plenty of over-generous scores. Kyla’s amanar during the week was mentioned as being quite low and this has proven it’s not safe for her to do, doesn’t have the brute power for it. She should stick with her beautiful DTY. It’s floor that’s much more maddening, sooo loooow.
    Sarah messing up was heartbreaking, really wanted her to nail everything. Still in with a good shot of alternate but she looks wrecked, I’ve heard she’s injured.
    Thrilled McKayla hit floor 🙂
    Very jittery competition, hope for more hit routines on Sunday. And Nastia BETTER scratch bars, she’s actually dangerous on them.
  87. Wha? Says:
    Aww, poor Bridget! This sucks 😦
  88. Kel Says:
    Will Nastia withdraw with an “injury” or will she remain stubborn and compete another night? Headlines out there about her say things like she “crippled” her chances of making the team. Ouch! Not the way I would want to go out if I were her…she never should have waited so long to come back. I really think if she started even a year ago, she might have been able to make the team.
    • gymtruthteller Says:
      I think she will stay in. I feel like she has already been promised an alternate spot if she hits just once and then gets 3 weeks to prepare. I DON’T TRUST MARTA:)
      • Kel Says:
        Do you think Marta will replace Kyla with Nastia once the games are closer? How do you do that unless one of the athletes is injured?
      • gymtruthteller Says:
        Who knows. There has to be a set time and date where the team is set so whenever that is (replacing a gymnast with an alternate) she can if she names Nastia an alternate but the rules at the Olympics is different then worlds. I am just not sure what they are.
