Do you remember when?

November 23, 2010

This is a cute little montage about gymnastics. About how you start out having fun and how it turns into work.

Great idea. Very original. The montage has been awhile but this was the first time I saw it.

Ask me anything- Update

April 20, 2010

I spammed myself and the questions took an hour to be put up. I am still not getting any questions though my friend asked a few they just have not gone through. Looks like this is happening to everyone.

Keep trying maybe they will fix it. Thanks

Aunt Joyce made one of these and while I don’t have his following I thought I would create one of these and see what I get.

So ask away. I might not be online a lot the next 3 days so be patient if I don’t get back to you quickly.

Sessions set for College Gymnastics

April 16, 2010

Here is the link to the rankings

Seems a lot messed up to me that Oklahoma the second seed in the Country has to be in the morning group. In fact the way they came up with these seedings makes no sense. You should reward the teams with the best records.

Teams are ranked based on the NQS from 1 to 12. Teams 1, 4, 5, 8, 9 and 12 were placed in Group A; and teams 2, 3, 6, 7, 10 and 11 placed in Group B.

The best AAers are in the first session and we all know scores always go up.

week 10

Should be number 1 Oklahoma easily beat Washington by over a point. Hollie Vise competed her first AA at Oklahoma winning it with 39.600. Natasha Kelley won vault with a 9.925. Hollie was only the second gymnast at OU to compete the AA this year.

Georgia lost to Michigan. Shayla Worley did not compete. Georgia is going to be lucky to even make it to Nationals at this rate. They better step up. That should say their veterans better step up. McCool and Taylor not competing AA at this stage of the game is ridiculous.

LSU beat Iowa with Susan Jackson having another astounding meet winning the AA with a 39.525

UNH beat North Carolina
Former Woga member Diane Grey had a 9.800 on bars.

Alabama and Stanford have the week off and UCLA competes later in the weekend. Anna Li is out with an ankle injury

Then and Now: Hollie Vise

February 12, 2010

hollie

Former World Champion on the Uneven Bars Hollie Vise was not known for her power. A below average vaulter one place I always felt Hollie was under appreciated was her floor routines. She could tumble a full in at her best but that was a struggle. So why do I feel she was underrated on floor? The kid could dance. She made the dancers today look like kids in their first year of ballet class.

Watch her progression dance wise through the years and at the end see what Hollie looks like today on floor in her Senior year at Oklahoma (her first year competing floor) If you only have time to watch one of these routines I suggest 2003 Nationals or 1999 American Classic (beware the music doesn’t change until 2003.lol)

1999 American Classic (I liked this better then what she did in 02)

2000 US Junior Nationals

College Gymnastics week 5

Shayla wakes up

College gym fans

Shayla Worley finally lived up to her potential. Number 1 Alabama falls to LSU and Susan Jackson does it again!

Those are your headlines for week 5 of College gymnastics.

Georgia got some pretty shady scores for decent routines but I really think competing against Kentucky just made them look better then they are. The scores at the start of the season were low and as soon as Alabama started scoring these ridiculous 197 plus totals the scoring has gone up big time. Georgia benefitted from this tonight. Shayla had 3 scores over the 9.900 mark and Georgia easily beat Kentucky.

Susan Jackson helped LSU take out number 1 Alabama. Oklahoma beat Nebraska to remain perfect (when will Hollie Vise get to do the dang AA? )and UCLA beat Arizona by nearly 3 points.
