Grace Taylor is human

March 29, 2010

Here is the direct link to the video. I can’t seem to get the embedded to work

I had heard about this interview awhile ago and I just ran across it at gymnasticscoaching.com and it totally caught me off guard. You always think of Grace Taylor as this sweet little kid that never lets anything get her down but in this interview she looked mad and depressed. It was kind of nice to see.

I don’t want to see Grace upset that would be like kicking a cute little puppy for no reason I love Grace as a person. She always seems so positive about everything so this interview is kind of like when you saw what an asshole Tom Cruise was for the very first time or when you found out Mel Gibson blamed Jewish people for everything wrong in the world.

I will give Grace a break for two very big reasons 1- she was 100% right Georgia should have won this meet and 2- everyone is human. She is allowed to be upset and say something controversial. No one can be perfect all the time. Grace has always been human this was just the first time she ever showed it to us meer mortals.

College Gymnastics week 10

March 13, 2010

week 10

Should be number 1 Oklahoma easily beat Washington by over a point. Hollie Vise competed her first AA at Oklahoma winning it with 39.600. Natasha Kelley won vault with a 9.925. Hollie was only the second gymnast at OU to compete the AA this year.

Georgia lost to Michigan. Shayla Worley did not compete. Georgia is going to be lucky to even make it to Nationals at this rate. They better step up. That should say their veterans better step up. McCool and Taylor not competing AA at this stage of the game is ridiculous.

LSU beat Iowa with Susan Jackson having another astounding meet winning the AA with a 39.525

UNH beat North Carolina
Former Woga member Diane Grey had a 9.800 on bars.

Alabama and Stanford have the week off and UCLA competes later in the weekend. Anna Li is out with an ankle injury

Auburn recap

AuBURNS Georgia should have been on the banner but I didn’t think of it until I was done so I’ll leave the words here.

For the first time in the History of their program Auburn University beats Georgia. Georgia is hitting a new low this year and the newbies like Shayla Worley who were supposed to be replacing the annoying Courtney Kupets are not living up to par. Georgia still has time it isn’t even the half way point yet but things do not look good when Grace Taylor falls off beam twice. I have faith in Shayla she will be fine but it might take a while to get used to her new body. By the way she looks awesome. She looks human. Come to think of it I don’t know why I have faith in Shayla . She was this inconsistent as an elite but all around this was not a good week for College gymnastics. (so far)

Denver’s Kristina Coccia competed beam but fell on floor. Sarah Shire fell off bars, Stanford lost to Oregon State and Utah was less then steller in their win over Washington.

UCLA doesn’t compete until Sunday.

If gymnastics was easy it would be called football

August 22, 2009

I ran across two gymnastics articles while I was surfing the net and had to comment on them.

First a former gymnast now a football player (DeAngelo Hall) talks his love for the sport and the 1996 Olympic Women’s gymnastics Gold medal team. Even calling Shannon Miller by her first name. If only athletes that had not been gymnasts could do the same thing and maybe our sport would get some credit it deserves.

The second article is about how the Georgia Football team went up against the Georgia gymnasts and couldn’t compete with them pound per pound. A really great read
