Komova’s AA Comeback

Thank you Rocio who has been made vice President since he is the only one of you that posts anymore:)

There are subtitles but I’ll be damned if I can find them.

It should also be noted that a few people have now being told they need their comment approved and frankly I am sick of re-explaining this to everyone because people are getting offended, thinking I am doing this to them so…. WORDPRESS is sending comments to moderation NOT ME. NO ONE, Has been banned or blocked or set to purgatory. If you use a phone and a computer and or a tablet and you switch between them, wordpress might send you to moderation waiting for approval AKA purgatory. I like everyone that posts here and have no no reason to ban or temporary block anyone so if you are going to purgatory or told you are banned or blocked, its NOT ME. Send me an e-mail. I’ll check. FOR THE 500TH TIME, I don’t also check spam or purgatory. So if you use wifi at work or starbucks this might happen to you

Here is what Rocio must have been talking about. It’s a recap of what was said. So basically her coach whines she was robbed , twice. The coach, really thinks she was robbed by Jordyn and she somewhat implies she deserved the Olympics over whats her name. “The vault gave the judges a reason to take it away was pretty much the opinion. Second thought with all this whining maybe I should have picked something else to blog about lol

Thank you for my new title, GTT! I’ll wear it proudly.

Regarding the documentary, you can put the subtitles in English pushing the “subtitles” button, and then, in the little dented wheel button, you will see a tab called “Subtitles: Russian (automatic generated). Push there and you will see another three options. One of them is “Translation”. You will be able to select “English” and the subtitles are going to be translated authomatically. I have seen it with German subtitles. It is very laudatory with Komova, but that is to be expected. But interesting images of the somewhat reclusive Round Lake, so I would recommend it.

  2. Rocío Martínez López Says:

And I don’t trust Valentina (I am repeating myself, am I). A couple of days ago, it was said that she wasn’t going to be ready for Worlds, and now they are saying she is going to do AA and promoting her strongly, so I don’t know if we are going to see her soon or not. They better pray for her to step up because Europeans were fairly horrible for them, even with Melnikova’s and Eremina’s medals.

  3. sanitynmotion Says:

Then she shouldn’t have LET them take it away with that crappy vault landing! I agree Komova deserved the Olympic gold but I’m not so in agreement over worlds/Jordyn.

But hey, Shannon was robbed too from her Olympic gold and so was Shawn Johnson over 1 event (bars)…makes no sense to me to this day, that Shawn was light years better than Nastia in floor and vault and beat her butt in beam all the time yet one Nastia bar routine deserves the gold medal.

Subjective sports suck but it is what it is. Michelle Kwan is in the same robbed camp too as we all know…at least she ditched her wet noodle husband.

    • Gymbot Says:

Sanity is on point. In 2011 Komova had a bad floor, but her better performed floor in Quals barely scored better – so the tight scoring at the end should have been a greater difference. I am biased though, I’m super American

      • gymtruthteller Says:

Funny thing is a few months ago I started a blog thinking Komova might have had a point about 2011 but I never got a chance to finish it ( start it really) I am the opposite of super American I am not a fan of most of our gymnasts but up until I watched it again recently I too would have defended Jordyn as the right winner.

      • Case Says:

Jordyn was the right winner. Komova’s camp wants to rehash all this six years later while ignoring her shitty vault landing. Bye Felicia..or Valentina…or the janitor at Round Lake or whoever else is fanning these flames.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

        The janitor lol

      • Gymbee Says:

The janitor reply made me snort in a phone meeting at work and I’d forgotten to put the phone on mute. Cue a room full of swedes asking what sound I made, I blamed hay fever.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

        lol

    • G Says:

      ^^ this!

    • gymtruthteller Says:

If Nastia’s form had been fairly nit picked Shawn would have had a point but the second she messed up that stupid vault, a vault she never should have needed in the first place it was over.

Don’t get me started on Nellie Kim the cheater and 92

      • JAS4 Says:

Wonder if Nellie will find a way to have the robot judges do her biding 😂http://eng.gymnovosti.com/robot-judging-is-coming-to-gymnastics/

      • Rocío Martínez López Says:

I don’t know how the robots are going to judge a concept so abstract as “artistry”. At least, we would be able to call their bullshit in this regard, because they constantly say that they take artistry into account and we all know they don’t give a s**t about that.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

So true. They use that deduction for the gymnasts they don’t want to win like Aly in 2011. Granted she isn’t a dancer by any means but her and Mai’s routines were fine in the presentation sense (ton of choreography at least on Aly’s part) and they found a reason to deduct. Aly at least tries where as Gabby walked through her routine and literally gave no effort at all.

  4. gymnerd Says:

Tiger Woods’ mug shot looks disturbingly similar to Marvin Sharp’s. And we know how that one came out. 😦

    • gymtruthteller Says:

Tiger is bored. He’s SUPER rich and bored. a DEADLY COMBINATION. mY MOTEHR WALKED AROUND YESTERDAY SAYING, hE DOESN’T LOOK DRUNK HE LOOKS DRUGGED OUT AND THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT HE was. ( Ignore the capitals my caps button was on.lol)

      • Case Says:

He’s a mess. Another case of finding fame and fortune way too young. I don’t think things are going to end well for Tiger.

    • dianajc99 Says:

      Did he retire or something?

      • gymtruthteller Says:

He got injured and hasn’t been able to play.

      • Case Says:

He hasn’t played in like 10 years it seems.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

Its only been like 2 years but yeah. It’s been awhile. He’s better off then most. with all his money. Let him do something else.

  6. Rocío Martínez López Says:

And now, French nationals! France is looking good: http://www.wogymnast.com/2017/06/melanie-de-jesus-dos-santos-and-marine.html

    • JAS4 Says:

With the new code in place I think we could see lots of surprise medalist at world’s! France seems to be in better shape than Russia and possibly Romania at the moment!

      • gymtruthteller Says:

Unless Larisa does AA Romania might get a beam medal but that will be it and Larisa is so damn inconsistent so it won’t be her.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

I am very interested to see how floor scoring goes because that seems real low this year

      • JAS4 Says:

Did they change the floor code a lot? With the scores I’ve seen so far it looks like even Simone wouldn’t be able to break 15 on floor.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

I think they must have because even very good routines are getting massacred by the judges. Oh Gymbot????????

      • Rocío Martínez López Says:

They are better than Romania for sure, except for Larissa and Cata. And even with them, Cata is a two-event gymnast and we haven’t seen Lari do the AA since 2015, so we don’t really know her shape or how she can adapt herself to the new code (Romania’s bars has shown us for years how difficult they find to adapt to a new code). I don’t think that Lari is terribly inconsistent. She had good a consintent performances in the 2012-2015 period, but I think she has been forced to perform when she wasn’t totally healthy a lot of times and that showed in her performance (in last worlds, she hadn’t be able to practice the dismount were she had a mistake consistently). She is not Simone rock solid, but pretty solid taking into account the rest of Romania or Russia. I think that France can surpass Russia, not because they are better, but because Russia has terrible problems of consistency and not an impressive difference of difficulty to make for their mistake (they ALL fell on beam on the Euros, both in quals and in individual finals. That is a disaster).

The floor code suffered a lot of changes. Here you have a deep insight: https://balancebeamsituation.com/2016/08/31/2017-2020-code-of-points-a-deep-dive/. The reason because Cata missed floor final on Euros was in part because of this change. Now the front requirement has to be connected to an accrobatic series, so when she missed hers at the end of her last diagonal, she couldn’t do a front wheel or anything else to make for it, because it won’t have been valid anyway.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

As much as I enjoy that blog her posts are waaaaaay too long for me and my not that into gym anymore mind. Whomever writes that blog reminds me of someone but I can’t figure out who. Their writing style is very familiar.

      • Gymbot Says:

I think Biles would score well above 15, she had so many skills under belt that she could have adjusted easily.

The changes require front tumbling in a tumbling line along the diagonal, with takeoff from two feet. It also requires saltos connected in a tumbling line (whips, front tuck to round offs into tumbling satisfy this).

The gymnasts haven’t busted out full difficulty, except maybe Mai Mutakami and Sae Miyakawa.

Now that there isn’t any D dismount bonus, many new senior gymnasts seem to have kept C forward elements as dismounts as they did in the last junior code, keeping the changes simple for now. I bet the difficulty will grow once they have the new tumbling lines under control. Most of the routines score about 5 tenths less.

Relatively, bars and beam got a lot of difficulty bonuses for single elements and more bonuses for connection, so scoring seems closer to last quad.

  7. dianajc99 Says:

so rumor has it the the Landi’s have left WOGA

    • Bess Says:

I was coming here to post this exact same thing…except it’s not rumor from what I heard. I think there is also some shake up at another well known gym but I’m going to keep a lid on that until I hear some thing definitive.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

Oh just spill it. Come on. You know you want to:)

      • H Says:

Is it about them buying Brestyans? If so that must be pretty perfect if Mihai and Silvia still will be coaching there.

    • G Says:

Yeah it’s definitely true because Maddie Kocian posted an instragram about it. I’m not if they left abruptly or where they’re headed. And now I’m curious about the other gym drama lol

    • Gymbot Says:

I’m not surprised. The model seems to make a name for yourself as a coach and then make your own gym. Does the rumor say if it was on good terms?

  8. gymmom2 Says:

Heard Justin Laury was let go from WCC. Although not sure why they would make the jump there unless offered some ownership. Although I also heard it wasn’t their idea – so wonder about that. Cecile posted pictures on Instagram quoting Dr. Suess saying “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.”
