Mckayla Maroney is on Instagram dancing around in a thong…

    • Gymnast41 Says:

Saw that, and her backlash at the haters doesn’t make any sense to me at all. Basically saying she doesn’t want to be seen as a role model anymore despite being one and prompting people to unfollow her. Thought she was on the right track after deleting the “bad”pics on her instagram but guess not…

      • Gymbee Says:

So bizarre. Such a cry for attention. I wonder what’s up with her.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

She has no direction. Parents that let her live rent free and a need for attention. A dangerous combination.

      • Mim Says:

The dark part of my brain has suspicions about what’s up with her but I won’t go there. Lack of direction in life also, agree GTT. Parents letting their teens/adults bum around doing nothing always surprises me. Actually in Aus within the past month there have been two great current affairs tv shows on our more ‘intellectual’ tv channels that have explored what life is like for elite athletes post retirement particularly with the lack of emotional support, with many athletes experiencing depression, anxiety, etc. It made me think of MM particularly as she mentioned suffering from depression after being forced to retire before she was mentally ready to. Both are Aussie centric but I think apply to elite sport generally.. if anyone is interested in watching online the shows are “Insight” on SBS and “Four Corners” on ABC.

      • gymnerd Says:

Not fair, Mim – if you went there, you need to tell us what you think is up with her. Me, I think she’s about one step away from a career as a porn star.

      • Case Says:

She’s trying to stay relevant any way she can. Unfortunately she is choosing a dark path.

      • Gymbee Says:

Mim – I remember one of her “keek” videos are of her at Worlds in the hotel room with some of the girls – she’s in a leo and a certain team doctor is massaging her upper thigh. I can imagine anyone who was already a bit mentally unstable, after this coming out would be prone to more problems.
Not saying that’s what’s up with her, but I remember being creeped out even then at how incredibly “friendly” or familiar he was around the girls when they were chilling and joking around.

      • Mim Says:

Gymbee, that was my train of thought since the news broke. Hopefully that feeling is incorrect and she’s just “finding herself” or whatever.

      • gia20 Says:

She was losing followers. Now she got them back and then some. Wait for her to release a single on itunes or something. It wouldnt surprise me if she enters the adult entertainment business. Anyway Im not surprise. She has nothing going on for her. No college. No job. Dont know what happened to her “acting career”. Just rich parents who let her live home rent free.

    • dianajc99 Says:

Its gone to huffpost and TMZ.

    • sanitynmotion Says:

I saw that today and immediately came here. I think it’s awful. Clearly she’s losing her sense of self and wants attention any which way she can get it. I almost puked when I saw her video of her in a thong, and then there’s another one where she’s just whipping her hair around and pouting. Like what kind of attention does she think she’ll get doing that? Nothing good.

I don’t know about the doctor video but that whole thing literally gave me the chills (of her prancing around). I want to call her mom, literally. The funny thing is she lives in Laguna Hills or somewhere like that it’s not too far from my house. Like can I make a lawn painting “YOUR OLDER DAUGHTER NEEDS SERIOUS HELP AND PLEASE TELL HER TO STOP POSING NEARLY NUDE ON SOCIAL MEDIA.”

I’m sure there’s a better way to phrase this. Are her parents that idiotic?

      • gymtruthteller Says:

She’s an adult. Don’t think they can make her do anything, really.

      • sanitynmotion Says:

Yeah, but in my honest opinion adults don’t still live with their parents, lol. Ok, maybe some do but still. If I were her parent I’d be like “you are not posing that way in front of my stairs!!!!” Bleck.

I bet she does come out with some music single that never makes it to the charts.

      • Gymbee Says:

I completely agree sanity, same here. And even though she’s an adult her parents can still guide her. I know when I was 20 I was depressed and my parents were of great help to me.
Lost her sense of self seems like a good description.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

Here is what our future President, aly Raisman has to say. I swear this girl wants to run for office some day which is why she is so politically correct

      • gymnerd Says:

Video wouldn’t play for me after “I saw her the other day for the first time in over a year.” What happened when they saw each other?

  2. Cupquaked Says:

Super random but I met He Wenna, a trampoline champion from the 2008 olympics, tonight when I went out to dinner.

  3. Gymbot Says:

I’m glad Larissa is still brining in medals. I hope she achieves her goals in this quad

  4. G Says:

Simone eliminated from DWTS tonight. She had great scores and ability but just didn’t get the “Laurie treatment” as far as edits and praise went.

  5. Gymnast41 Says:

If any of y’all got to watch it was nice to see Simone open up to show a more personal side last night. She basically revealed that the bronze actually disappointed her more than she showed to the media…I’m sure that DWTS was something she needed though since she was so used to winning everything, it was a shock to her system considering she got two perfect scores, but you could see in her face she saw it coming (or she just knows how to lose graciously lol) and the fact that she’d learned from the experience

  6. Cupquaked Says:

USAG pulls out of purchasing the Karolyi ranch, citing lack of funds.

Obviously for other reasons. But this is a step in the right direction. An isolated ranch in the middle of south Texas always made me uncomfortable.

    • JAS4 Says:

I wonder if they will end up training in Colorado like the men do

    • sanitynmotion Says:

They want to distance themselves from the Karolyis? What are they going to do now with that decrepit structure?

I honestly never understood training there because it always looked like the gym was about to fall down…the equipment looked super old too.

      • Gymbee Says:

Yes – that gym didn’t look like it had been updated since the 80’s. I thought I read somewhere that it was leaking as well, and in summer the air-con didn’t work so they had to train with doors open or something. Always found it weird when you see those AMAZING gyms college teams have. My friend was a Mizzou gymnast and she sent me photos from their new gym and it was the nicest I’ve ever seen. Comparing that to the national training centre was laughable! No comparison. They should get a modern facility – (where there is a separate treatment room and the doctor doesn’t need to come to the dorms 🙄)

  7. Rocío Martínez López Says:

Osijek cup is this weekend! Today were the first finals. Here are some videos. Iliankova won Bars and Kovacs seems to be still on fire. Flavia is in this cup too, so the injury she had in her last competition wasn’t too important.

  8. Rocío Martínez López Says:

    Shegoulnova’s bars:
