Does Larissa have a floor or vault yet? I can’t even remember what her most recent injury is.. I hope she’s back for euros and beats Ponor on any event they both compete

  2. Bess Says:

Sooo…went to shop for a new leo for the little one and Gabby’s leos are no where to be found on the GK site…did we know this? Simone, Nastia, Aly and Laurie are all still there

    • gymnerd Says:

Gee, that’s…too bad. Hmmmm, wonder what’s up??

      • gymtruthteller Says:

        I love you lol

      • Bess Says:

Now, now lol. I have no idea though…I know she had a “back to school” collection but the little one “poopoo-ed’ all the design options in her line. Not sure what happened btwn then and the spring/summer collection. Makes you wonder if maybe their contracts could be collection by collection depending on how their sales are as opposed to multi year deals. Then again, I can’t imagine poor sales in the summer/fall led to the pulling of a spring/summer line bc I would imagine they have to plan further out than that for the collections

  3. sanitynmotion Says:

I have mixed feelings here. Like “Yay I love her” but “damn Romania should have been forced to accept that they exiled their best gymnast by treating her like crap last year…

    • gymtruthteller Says:

I wish she would have retired, personally but the more success she has the dumber they look. I don’t hate Ponor but the way she acted last year was deplorable. She tried to turn the public against Larisa who single handidly kept Romania from distinction.

    • Rocío Martínez López Says:

I don’t want her to retire. I want her to win as many medals as possible and show those who thought she was done that she is still amazing, like Musty did with VR. And then, when she decides to retire, let them beg her to stay after they wronged her so much, show the Romanian Gymnastics responsibles all the medals she has won and say: “Look all these medals because they are the last ones you are going to see for a Romanian gymnast in a loooong time”. And then go like a diva.

Senate hearing on the abuse scandal today. USA Gym a no-show

    • gymtruthteller Says:

To be honest . Not sure what the big deal is. They are about to be sued for millions. I expect them to go broke and bankrupt . Why would they self incriminate ?

  5. gymtruthteller Says:

Michelle Kwan is getting a divorce. I knew it. She was never with him and spent the last few months hanging with her nieces. No Kwan babies to save skating:(

  6. gymtruthteller Says:

LOL that they had Kwan originally listed as a gold medalist. People still think she won. That i love

If you want to see the Spanish Gymnastic Cup, you can see it for free worldwide here:

    • gymtruthteller Says:

Thank you Rocio. Thank you for always being such a help providing links. They are a big help to me amd everyone who can’t spend any time online anymore searching for gymnastics stuff.

      • Rocío Martínez López Says:

Thanks to you,GTT, and to all the “usual suspects” who write here. There are some good blogs in Spain, but I don’t know a lot of people to talk about gymnastics, as it is such a minority sport here. So this blogs has been great to me and I have learnt a lot from you guys. :). Also, any news of Jesolo? I can’t see it, but people from Twitter says that Flavia is first and Russia is not improving from past competitions.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

The girl that fell at the scam just got a 15.05 on bars . Ashton only a 14.7 something . Daria a 14.2 on bars . Ermeia a 14.8 something

        Random thoughts:

-Russia is very, very screwed. This is their senior team, the one they probably would send to Worlds and Europeans with minor modifications and they got in third in a competition where most of the most important countries are not present (excluding USA). They are at a serious risk of following Romania’s path and we know it is not a good one. They have serious consistency problems and low starting scores in floor that made them begin with around one point per gymnast in general in all apparatus, sometimes even more.

-USA is not longer on “destroyer” mode. Their teams of 2012 and 2016 of “you can’t get close to us even in your dreams” or “We are so superior we could fall three times and finish first” were very superior to today’s senior. Of the senior team that have possibilities of (correct me if I am wrong) only Reagan is missing (I don’t know if I could consider Chiles in that rooster anymore) and her scores are not decisive, like Simone’s or Aly’s could have been. This kind of team is abordable.

-It is going to be an interesting Worlds and we can see the first AA podium without USA’s girl in decades. 56.6 is a score very affordable for other gymnasts (and Reagan’s score at American Cup was even lower). In 2015 Worlds, there were eight gymnasts who were above this score and fifteen gymnasts in Rio’s AA, eleven of which are still active and have improved, like Ellie Downie.

      • Rocío Martínez López Says:

It’s important to note that USA Junior team in Jesolo ended four poits over their senior teammates, so the they are not in “destroyer” mode can be temporary, though.

  10. gymtruthteller Says:

Juniors would have swept the senior AA

  11. gymtruthteller Says:

    Junior team: 1- USA 171.850 2- ITA1 157.900 3- RUS 156.500 4- ITA2 5- FRA 6- ITA YOUNG 2004 7- CAN 8- ITA speranze 2005

    shawn is pregnant 🙂

    • gymtruthteller Says:

      Oh no a

      • G Says:

Just realized it COULD be an April fools joke? Kind of silly though if so

      • gymtruthteller Says:

Stupid actually but…. It kind of looks fake. She’s huge in that picture.

      • G Says:

Right? Like I don’t know how well she could have hid that, even with her big baggy long shirts. Hmmm

      • gymtruthteller Says:

She looks like she is 6 months.

      • G Says:

Yep It was a joke. Lame, I feel like there are just certain things you don’t April fool about. Especially if you’re in the public eye.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

I don’t see the big deal. So she pretended to be pregnant. I don’t get I am surprised she waited so long to reveal it was a joke. I did get an e-mail about how some people were upset because they can’t have kids and I was like give me a freaking break. I am never having kids and it didn’t offend me. Some people are too sensitive.

      • G Says:

Oh yeah that’s over the top. I guess I just think its stupid lol and not creative. i love a good April fools joke

  13. gymtruthteller Says:

    Maggie is back.

    • JAS4 Says:

I wish Maggie was still training elite! She’d have a good shot at world’s if she was back to her 2015 level.

  14. Cupquaked Says:

Whoops. I didn’t realize I was logged into my wordpress account when I posted that comment. Feel free to delete/ignore it, GTT.

Anyway, Maggie would probably win the AA at worlds if she competed/if USAG let her compete. I’m low key hoping Simone takes a week off from being famous and competes and wins it all.

    One can dream…

  15. Rocío Martínez López Says:

I think Locklear is going to be very lowballed this year. The fact that she ended third in Jesolo when McCusker had some problems is worrying.

    • Cupquaked Says:

Did she compete I the AA? Or 3rd behind McCusker for bars? I was under the impression that Locklear’s AA was shit besides bars and a slightly better than mediocre beam.

      • Rocío Martínez López Says:

I meant third on today’s UB final. I think she competed AA because USA had two senior teams, but I am not sure. In any case, she is basically one-event gymnasts so, if she did, she was very far behind in the list. In the UB finals, she was third behind Eremina (1st) and McCusker (2nd).

  16. gymtruthteller Says:

Jaycie Phelps is pregnant. Is she married? Does anyone get married these days before popping out baby spawns?

  17. gymtruthteller Says:

This page has a video of Jesolo (Riley on bars) If this was prelims she was very overscored. Missed every handstand. Close to the bar on her release moves.

  18. gymtruthteller Says:

Here are some more from a different page
