Now, now lol. I have no idea though…I know she had a “back to school” collection but the little one “poopoo-ed’ all the design options in her line. Not sure what happened btwn then and the spring/summer collection. Makes you wonder if maybe their contracts could be collection by collection depending on how their sales are as opposed to multi year deals. Then again, I can’t imagine poor sales in the summer/fall led to the pulling of a spring/summer line bc I would imagine they have to plan further out than that for the collections
I wish she would have retired, personally but the more success she has the dumber they look. I don’t hate Ponor but the way she acted last year was deplorable. She tried to turn the public against Larisa who single handidly kept Romania from distinction.
I don’t want her to retire. I want her to win as many medals as possible and show those who thought she was done that she is still amazing, like Musty did with VR. And then, when she decides to retire, let them beg her to stay after they wronged her so much, show the Romanian Gymnastics responsibles all the medals she has won and say: “Look all these medals because they are the last ones you are going to see for a Romanian gymnast in a loooong time”. And then go like a diva.
Thanks to you,GTT, and to all the “usual suspects” who write here. There are some good blogs in Spain, but I don’t know a lot of people to talk about gymnastics, as it is such a minority sport here. So this blogs has been great to me and I have learnt a lot from you guys. :). Also, any news of Jesolo? I can’t see it, but people from Twitter says that Flavia is first and Russia is not improving from past competitions.
-Russia is very, very screwed. This is their senior team, the one they probably would send to Worlds and Europeans with minor modifications and they got in third in a competition where most of the most important countries are not present (excluding USA). They are at a serious risk of following Romania’s path and we know it is not a good one. They have serious consistency problems and low starting scores in floor that made them begin with around one point per gymnast in general in all apparatus, sometimes even more.
-USA is not longer on “destroyer” mode. Their teams of 2012 and 2016 of “you can’t get close to us even in your dreams” or “We are so superior we could fall three times and finish first” were very superior to today’s senior. Of the senior team that have possibilities of (correct me if I am wrong) only Reagan is missing (I don’t know if I could consider Chiles in that rooster anymore) and her scores are not decisive, like Simone’s or Aly’s could have been. This kind of team is abordable.
-It is going to be an interesting Worlds and we can see the first AA podium without USA’s girl in decades. 56.6 is a score very affordable for other gymnasts (and Reagan’s score at American Cup was even lower). In 2015 Worlds, there were eight gymnasts who were above this score and fifteen gymnasts in Rio’s AA, eleven of which are still active and have improved, like Ellie Downie.
I don’t see the big deal. So she pretended to be pregnant. I don’t get it.lol I am surprised she waited so long to reveal it was a joke. I did get an e-mail about how some people were upset because they can’t have kids and I was like give me a freaking break. I am never having kids and it didn’t offend me. Some people are too sensitive.
I meant third on today’s UB final. I think she competed AA because USA had two senior teams, but I am not sure. In any case, she is basically one-event gymnasts so, if she did, she was very far behind in the list. In the UB finals, she was third behind Eremina (1st) and McCusker (2nd).
