The aftermath.

Feel free to discuss the tour, the newest controversy or whatever else comes up. The last blog was getting way tooooo long.

  1. JAS4 Says:

Looks like nothing but scandal and dwts news for gymnastics lately. Any competitons coming up soon?

  2. dianajc99 Says:

according to the huffpost GD is an American hero.

  3. david0688 Says:

So it looks like that Raiders player that asked Aly Raisman out on a date wont be able to after all since her got cut. Lol. Aside from that, I haven’t heard any drama yet.

  4. Rocío Martínez López Says:

What is going on with the hackers and the doping on Simone? The Spanish news I have read said that they have discovered that some athletes, including Simone, were doping under falses certificates of approval for terapeutic reasons, but it doesn’t sound right. Could any of you clarify this for me, please?

    • SS Says:

From what I’ve gathered it actually sounds like Simone has ADHD (not really a huge surprise if you watch her during competitions, lol) and is on meds for it, for which she has an approval for. Therefore there really isn’t any scandal, aside from the hack and Simone’s rights being violated.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

Her mother was a junkie so who knows what Simone was born on (speculation I know) I am just surprised they approved her taking medicine at all for ADHD. Having dealt with children who have it I can tell you it’s no picnic.

      • Rocío Martínez López Says:

But what the news said was that they were doping because the approval given by the doctors to take banned substances was false. I understand completely if the athletes have some condition that warrant the need of meds…that is normal, no scandal there. But in the news, it is said that they weren’t real conditions, but just a excuse for dopping aproved by doctor linked to the USA’s federation. That’s the bit I don’t know if its correct. If they had medical conditions that warranted the use of meds, there is no news whatsoever.

      • Ss Says:

I think that is what the Russian hackers are trying to imply, but from what I’ve read there is no actual information to support that. Aimee said on Twitter that Simone has a real, documented, and approved release for her medication.

      • dianajc99 Says:

ADHD is a real disorder and meds are usually recommended for it. The issue her is the question of athlete faking a disease to get meds that would be on the banned list.
in 2004 a number of track athlete were on a med that treats Narcolepsy. one of the rares conditions there is.

      • dianajc99 Says:

RUS had 2 more medals stripped from 08, so there a little pissed and are lashing out right now!

      • david0688 Says:

So some how, according to her hackers, taking meds to control her ADHD gives her an advantage? That logic is faulty

      • dianajc99 Says:

Yup..and did anybody notice that they only released the info on black athletes who dominate their sport.

      • SS Says:

Looking at wada’s website as long as you can prove you have ADHD you can be approved to take your medicine for up to 4 years at a time. Honestly, she’s probably been on it since she was a little kid. The fact that this is news seems pretty dumb to me.

      • Rocío Martínez López Says:

No, david, what it is implied is that there is no medical conditions whatsoever, so medical certificates were faked to justify the appearance of banned substances in their tests with USA federation’s knowledge. But I don’t think there will be futher problems, because they will be able to clearly demostrates the necessity of taking the meds and everything will be finished. But they are serious charges anyway and I am afraid the public effect they could have.

      • Cee Says:

They are not serious charges–the Russian hackers are trying to make it seem as though “everyone does it” to mitigate the scandal of the state-sponsored cheating that went on in Russia. Anything to take the heat off them. But this is a medical condition, which everyone who mattered (FIG, USAG, IOC) knew about, and for which she was cleared to take this medication. This is just not a big deal, other than by bitter non-medalists (and of course the huge invasion of these athletes’ privacy).

There is literally nothing to see here, other than a bunch of losers trying to drag black and gay athletes and make them seem like cheaters. It’s pretty despicable.

  5. Ilanchik20 Says:

Simone has been tested and retested and she is allowed to take this so I really don’t see an issue. And she has been taking it for a while.

I guess they insinuating that us athletes are more likely to take Ritalin. This is prob true but that’s because adhd is more likely to be prescribed here–again nothing to do with Simone.

Ferrari said Simone should loose her medals.

I feel for Simone. All this negative USAG stuff when she wins.

  6. Rocío Martínez López Says:

Simone has said in her Twitter that she was taking the meds of ADHD, as you have said, that she have been taking it since she was a kid and have all the permission needed for that. So I think the polemic ends here.

  7. Exgymgurl Says: Used a is supporting her and the Williams sisters

  8. Mim Says:

What a crap week for gymnastics with the abuse allegations, Russian hackers and Vanessa Ferrari mouthing off.

Honestly Vanessa is a freaking adult and needs to accept she’s still in fourth place and get over herself. Poor Simone is going to have to continue dealing with so much BS now that she has all the fame with being number one. I hope she’s not going to let this get to her.

  9. Exgymgurl Says:

She also tweeted that taking meds for adhd is nothing to hide or be ashamed of. I like that. It will help lots of children

    • KG Says:

If I had to guess, ADHD and other diagnoses made by psychiatrists are probably much less prevalent in many foreign countries. While the stigma of mental illness or anything “mental” is still a big thing in the U.S., it is probably much worse in other countries (Russia, Italy). By no means am I implying that adhd is a mental illness, just a learning differential, but it’s not like a virus or a broken bone, so it is not seen in a tangible way and thus is open to more criticism and speculation. I imagine Ferrari thinks Simone is “faking it” to get meds for improved concentration or something.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

A lot of parents put their kids on it to concentrate better and let’s be realistic here if you have the money you can buy anything. I find it interesting the Williams sister are on it amd this is the first we have heard of it.

      • Exgymgurl Says:

The Williams sisters exemption is for OxyContin not add meds

  10. dianajc99 Says:

There should be a disclaimer that Peter’s was later banned for life.

  11. Rachplum Says:

Lots of drama going on right now with Dr Larry Nassar, who was formerly the team doc for USA gymnastics until a few months ago. He is being accused of sexual assault of 2 former national team members (one site said one was an Olympian, but she is remaining anonymous – but filed the report in Sacramento if anyone knows what former gymnasts live out there?) It will be interesting to see how this plays out!

    • Mim Says:

Have a look the comments about this on the previous post.

      • Rachplum Says:

Haha, oh man! I stopped reading the last thread quite a few days ago. Here I thought I was “in the know” with gymnastics gossip!

      • Mim Says:

That thread got pretty long! It’s good people are talking about it though, might finally light a fire under USA Gym to do something positive.

    • sanitynmotion Says:

Was Danscher the Olympian? I can’t spell her name.

I think it’s awful…and sadly am not surprised. I see he was a doctor (and still is?) for Twisters? I hope Jordyn wasn’t involved in all that.

I have to say, these girls/women wouldn’t be bringing this to light if it weren’t true. There’s no “plus” in it for them to have to come out with this. I wonder what triggered it though years later (maybe they came together and compared notes? figured out this needed to be stopped and they weren’t imagining things?) …

      • gymtruthteller Says:

Sadly woman do lie in some of these cases and it makes it worse for those who really are abused. I read an article that said the Olympian who has not been named yet didn’t realize she was molested til she talked to some people at the Olympian thing they had this summer. This is a tough subject. Some people believe victs no matter what but we have had proven times where woman have lied ( The Duke case. Ty wanna Brown (sp) and other accounts ) it just makes it worse all around.

      • sanitynmotion Says:

Yeah, that’s the worst part. That there are liars, so it makes any case seem suspicious. I for one have no clue why anyone would lie about such a thing. But then again, I am not familiar with the Duke case or Tywanna Brown or whatever.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

The Duke Case is Where The Stripper Said She Was Raped but she wasn’t and in the past she had lied about being raped before and the Brown case is old but roo complicated for me to bring up. These cases are kids and that’s a lot more complicated.

      • sanitynmotion Says:

I don’t remember but I don’t like to even think about this topic. There was a recent Stanford case where the kid only got 3 months of jail time and he was found guilty. At least the judge has since been removed. I’m sure you heard of that it was all over social media. Brock whats-his-guts. White privilege. Yada yada. Which I understand the anger but I hate that it was made into yet another race issue.

There was something like this about Peyton Manning when he was in college, right? Didn’t he molest or harass a sports trainer and it got covered up?

      • gymtruthteller Says:

Don’t get me started on Manning’s free pass. The girls name was Brawley not Brown my spell checked changed it.

      • Case Says:

Dr Nassar is a really respected physician and there are many coming forward to support him. I’m not defending him by any means and if he is guilty he should burn. But there are some people that feel he is being convicted before trial simply because of the issues in USA gym right now.

One gymnast is claiming he molested her while her mother was present for the medical exam? Why didn’t the mother say something? Or go ballistic on him like I would have?

      • gymtruthteller Says:

That’s why I said it’s a hard situation. With something like this more names will come out if it’s true if it’s not it will stay at 2 or close . If you go to a male doctor in Mass you need a female in the room. Pretty Ure it’s law.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

And as sad as this is going to sound the worst possible name to be connected with this is the name that will be connected. Not calling her a liar and never would. She just has so many issues.

      • sanitynmotion Says:

I thought it was said the mom could only see her neck and back…but what do I know. The whole thing gives me the chills.

I hope it’s untrue, but then why would they come out like this? Why would you want that exposure?

What’s weird is he already quit USAG, right?

      • gymtruthteller Says:

He quit USAG months ago. Probably when he found out about the accusations. When all is said and done we will see how many names accuse him. Until then people need to stop speculating and throwing out rumors about alleged victims so that this situation will be handled fairly for all.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

And my comments aren’t about this blog they are about idiots running their mouths convicting Nassar or bad mouthing potantial victims without knowing what they are talking about. Some people just need to just shut up and let the law do its job.

      • Ilanchik20 Says:

Didn’t Penny make a statement saying that they relieved Nassar of his duties once they found out of allegations in 2015? I thought he said they reported the accusations to the appropriate sources.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

All I know is NAssar said on his Facebook is he was ending his ltime with USAG and people were surprised but this was months ago

      • dianajc99 Says:

The Stanford judge wasent removed.. He chose to step down to civil court from criminal. He can still go back

      • sanitynmotion Says:

Boo I stand corrected. He’s probably getting full pay for doing no work on taxpayer dime. Seems how our system is run these days.

      • Cee Says:

“There was something like this about Peyton Manning when he was in college, right? Didn’t he molest or harass a sports trainer and it got covered up?”

Sanity, yes, this is confirmed. Deadspin had a couple of articles on it–the whole thing is pretty vile, it made me lose a lot of respect for him. She was trying to look at his foot in the locker room and he suddenly teabagged her, and there were other incidents.

“I have to say, these girls/women wouldn’t be bringing this to light if it weren’t true. ”

I agree. Tawana Brawley and the Duke case are very rare outliers. As GTT says, the Brawley case was very complicated–she was a teenage girl who stayed out late and made up a crazy story about being gangraped to avoid being punished by her stepdad who was very abusive. The story really took off because of the racial element–Brawley is black and she said her rapists were white. It’s a LONG, crazy story but in the end there was no forensic evidence at all that she had been assaulted (the rape kit showed nothing) or that she’d spent the night lying outside on the ground as she’d claimed (showed no signs of hypothermia). But she’s the outlier as I said. Much more often is the Cosby/Don Peters scenario–man in power gets away with it, again and again, until finally enough people start to believe the victims. So I keep an open mind but I tend to believe the victims.

  12. dianajc99 Says:

    Tour kicks off tonight.

  13. Rocío Martínez López Says:

It seems that here in Europe the press is giving a lot of attention to the hacking issue, debating about it. Not about Simone or other athletes themselves, because the did what they had to do regarding their conditions and the Olympic comitee. but because of the system to obtain a permit to being able to legally use meds considered as doping. A lot of people have pointed out that there is no impartial medical court to determine these cases and that a lot of medics can be bought or bribed to sign the papers, especially for illnesses considered psicological or minor. Even an ex-cyclist have come across and said that the 90% of this kind of autorizations are only to improve an athlete’s performance. I have to say that I thought that there was more control on this and even when I don’t think that many athletes have done this, I am sure that some have used this subterfuge for sure. Maybe something good can come of this and the system improves, so the people who really need meds can be cleared in front both of the Olympic comité and the press and the cheaters can use it to gain an unfair advantage.

  14. Gymnast41 Says:

    Finally official. Valeri NT coordinator!!

    • Gymbee Says:

And Nastia will announce her comeback in January 2020, aiming for one of the specialist spots.

    • Guest Says:

We are just going to see who will be the next unfortunate girls like Ohashi/Bross.

    • dianajc99 Says:

      Let the code whoring begin…

    • dianajc99 Says:

nancy aumor and USA today are happy.. he’s coached an olympic champion..ask the gym community what they think of his kid and that title.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

Aumour or however you spell her name is nothing g but. USAG troll. She loved everything they do . She probably gets paid to write nice things about them. The gym reporters spend more time kissing the ass of gymnasts than doing their job.

    • Guest Says:

Did Valeri resign his job in WOGA and sell all his shares of WOGA? It is obviously a conflict of interest if he still has any relationship to WOGA when he is involved in selection of team members and hosting the training camp.

      • Tortuga Says:

He gave up all ties to WOGA when he took over the developmental program, tops etc. Madison’s coaches are the big coaches there now. I don’t think Evgeny is coaching anymore either? Just part owner.

  15. Ilanchik20 Says:

    Afan gets married.

A post shared by Ксю Афанасьева (@ksenia3333) on

Her husband is a former NT member

  16. dianajc99 Says:

    the Demons are coming..

  17. SS Says:

Quite a few gym people liked Dr Nassar’s new photo on fb. Not necessarily a statement of support, but interesting none the less:
    – Nastia
    – Cassie Rice
    – Rita Wieber
    – Mary Lee Tracy
    – Melissa Marlowe
    And Geddert’s daughter

  18. SS Says:

    – Carly Patterson
    – Miles Avery
    – Annia Hatch
    – Lisa Spini

  19. dianajc99 Says:

Aly’s threw out the first pitch at the giants game.

  20. Katie Says:

Taylor Rice on the Stanford Gymnastics Team (it’s pretty funny, i laughed)

  21. gymnerd Says:

I went to the Seattle tour stop last night. No Gabby. Interesting….

    • gymtruthteller Says:

You wasted money on this tragedy lol now tell us what you saw 🙂 I heard rumors bitch Nastia is back refusing autographs and running from kids

    • exgymgurl Says:

Gabby isn’t promoting National Gymnastics Day for Usa gymnastics either…. this is odd. Unless she is holding out for more $$ but they are probably paying her laurie aly and simone the same with Nastia, Shawn and Jordyn getting a little bit less. #sad #kellogstour

and three more MSU gymnasts have come forward about Nassar. I honestly like what Atler said because its true, Marvin Sharp never took pictures of Sloan that we know of, but it doesn’t diminish the young girls he did take pictures of. Predators are not dumb and over twenty years probably know what they can get away with.

    • dianajc99 Says:

funny this time around the tour dosent have the info that all gymnasts don’t do all tour stops. Unless its in the program of course,

  22. Lithi Says:

Somebody brought this up at WWGym forum, I’ll just reiterate: with Valeri as the new team coordinator Nastia won’t be leaving NBC for a long, long time. GAWD.

  23. dianajc99 Says:

    Atler diplomatic and supportive.
This has been a tough decision for me to make. But i feel it is the right thing to say.

This is referring to the allegations with Larry Nassar.

    1) First I want everyone to know Larry has never done anything to me. I only really had problems with my ankle and he was always professional and i never had any bad experiences with him.

    2) I will be choosing to support these women. I have a connection with USAG through my book, which makes things a little awkward, but I feel these women need support!

    3) Please remember just because you have had experiences that were positive, does not mean these allegations did not happen.

    4) Lets just be careful before we speak who we support. And ask yourself what if it is true, what am I doing to these women who have had this experience and been ignored, blamed, and unsupported. The main reason people hide these things as adults because of the backlash, imagine asking a child to do the same.

  24. dianajc99 Says:

    Talk about bad timing

  25. dianajc99 Says:

some gym site posted a pic of daniella silivas harpers daughter..I think she was in a perfect HS on the bars. does anybody have the photo?

  26. G Says:

What is the name of the release move that Bailie is doing here?

    Happy National Gymnastics Day😋 #ngd2016

    Well that’s new

  28. dianajc99 Says:

  29. dianajc99 Says:

I think Grishy popped out a kid already.

  30. Ss Says:

Jane Doe’s lawyer says that 10 more people have come forward saying Nassar assaulted them ranging in age from teenagers to forties. If there are people in their teens then the statue of limitations would definitely not be up yet. It will be interesting to see if he is going to end up being charged in addition to being sued.

  31. Mim Says:

Is Simone the only one from the Final Five doing the tour full time? I’ve seen some snapchats but I literally don’t recognise who all the girls are except for Simone, Ashton and Mykayla. Where are Aly and Gabby? The whole thing just seems SO boring.

    • gymnerd Says:

I went to the Seattle stop last week. Aly, Simone and Laurie were there, along with a sports macro pair and the rhythmic gymnast twins I’d never heard of. Oh, and some of the men’s team. No Gabby, no Madison. I’m guessing Madison is already at UCLA and Gabby’s just over it. Who knows.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

So tell me something about this tour ? Any real gymnastics ? What songs are used . How long is the show.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

Also how filled was the place and did you see Nastia refuse anyone an autograph ? I heard she refused a few the first night and ran past the others signing but she wouldn’t stop for anyone. Gotta love how she never changes lol

      • sanitynmotion Says:

I’m a diehard gym fan and I’d never go to see this show/tour. Never watch DWTS either.
Nastia is such a beyotch I mean if little girls wanted my autograph I’d be so happy to make them happy. She’s just rotten to the core.

And what’s the aftermath with Gabby? She doing anything? Is Simone doing anything? I feel like all of a sudden there’s a lot of crickets…

      • SS Says:

Simone’s been all over the place. She was at NYFW, on Ellen, her Beats commercial was just released, her “book” is about to come out, she did a pretty painful piece with Vogue, she became a spokesperson for ADHD thanks to the WADA hacks, and she’s been at every show.
As for Gabby, who knows what she is doing? I saw on Twitter that she was in Indianapolis a few days ago. She also claimed to be doing some special project with her sister, (leotard designing? Douglas Family Gold?)

      • sanitynmotion Says:

Sorry have my head up my ass. What’s the painful Vogue piece about?

At this point if it weren’t for Facebook I wouldn’t have known Brangelina were divorcing.

      • Katie Says:

        73 Questions with Simone Biles

The whole thing is extremely stiff and rehearsed and she comes off as a little unlikable, almost. Simone is always very likable and charming so this is just a horrible video.

    • gymtruthteller Says:

Seems to me they kept the cast list down to get more money and pay for the useless dancers from DWTS

    • Akshay Says:

Whatever it is, it can’t be worse than the monstrosity that was the 2008 tour. Remember Nastia’s “Supergirl Bars Routine? I would link it, but I’d rather not have GTT ban me! 😉

  32. Exgymgurl Says: Okay so the wizard world comic on circuit? She’s not into cosplay comic books or scifi shows. This is a wierd $10k a pop appearance fee and more if she makes more than that signing autographs and taking pics for $50-$75 a pop…..

    • gymtruthteller Says:

She’s making money or she wouldn’t be doing it. Not sure of the logic either.

    • Gymbee Says:

I was wondering about this too. She’s not into it, and I doubt the wizard comic con attendees are into her? Scraping the bottom of the barrel.

    • Case Says:

Gabby has a family to feed. Girl has to work to support her two managers (Mom and sister) and her two sisters’ businesses. Gabby Inc.

  33. Exgymgurl Says:

she did a home and garden show in 2012, she’s only doing the one day she doesn’t have a tour performance…

  34. Exgymgurl Says:

Simone now is branded to mattress firm, that’s two major pick ups (beats and mattress firm) post Olympics. She said they give mattresses to foster children. That’s awesome. This is what everyone thought would happen for gabby in 2012 and didn’t

  36. Exgymgurl Says:

    Camp starts Wednesday new quadrennium

    • H Says:

Finally. Is first competition Jesolo in March? Or are there any competitions US will be in before that time?

      • Ilanchik20 Says:

Doesn’t American cup come before Jesolo?

      • Exgymgurl Says:

Scam is before jesolo if I cared I’d wonder who liukin will pick

      • JAS4 Says:

If Laurie is back in the gym and in competition shape then he might would pick her and Smith or something like that. Although I wouldn’t be surprised if it were two new seniors either.

      • byrdisthewyrd Says:

I’m kind of hoping Bailie Key is picked. I’d still like to see her have some success as a senior. I wonder if it will be Key and Chiles?

  37. Exgymgurl Says:

Gabby is apparently getting her wisdom teeth out today

    • Aerial Says:

I’d love to see Bailie actually compete again before college (wherever that is) after all the mystery and whatever happened with her not being picked for Worlds last year. And it’s very interesting that she has erased all signs of Florida from her life and is going on new officials. Doesn’t look like Peyton Ernst has been picked up gymnastically either.

      • Ilanchik20 Says:

There is gossip that Bailie is considering Alabama. She followed a bunch of gymnasts from there and I think she had an official visit there this week.

      • Exgymgurl Says:

Bailie and Peyton are both going to be at Nama next yr

      • Exgymgurl Says:

        Bama next year

      • Exgymgurl Says:

Florida in the next two years will likely lose Aly baumann, key, and probably jazzy also

      • Mim Says:

I think Alyssa will still go to Florida. Rumours everywhere that Bailie and Peyton are looking at Bama and LSU, but I’d like to see them at Bama. Can’t say I’m overly heartbroken for Florida haha.. I like Kennedy Baker but as a team I am well and truly over the hype. I wonder if the young ones like Riley McCusker and Morgan Hurd will change their verbals from Florida too..

      • Exgymgurl Says:

No Alyssa was really upset when Rhonda left and told by the new Florida coach to defer, normally they’d bring her on the team and redshirt her, but I don’t think the new Florida coach wants or likes a lot of Rhonda’s recruits. The deferral is to give her time to find a new school.
