Olympic year rules

1- I am sorry to say this and annoyed to have to say it again but no one else will be approved to comment from here on in. I am very sorry to have to do this but at this point I have received so many trolls asking for approval (impatient ones to boot) that it is really hard to tell the genuine people from the crazy ones. I wish I had a sure fire way to keep out the people who want to sign up  just to disagree with everyone for the sake of arguing but there isn’t and I am afraid I have no other recourse but to just not allow anyone new to post. I don’t like making this place inclusive but since the start of late January the amount of e-mail and people that want to post has zillionafied and I don’t have the time or patience to deal with it. I am sorry if I didn’t get back to you some of you recent people but it’s been hectic around here and that is why. The e-mail address to contact this blog is the_real_gymtruthteller@yahoo.com

2- I want the recent people I have approved that you’re all on Probation and if you all of a sudden can’t post the people above are the reason why. I can’t tell if you’re crazy or not so we will see:)

3- As of now the blog will not go invisible  during the Olympic year. I got even more people asking for me to keep it open so as of now I will agree to do that.

4- Dearest Regulars, Thanks for being you. You all have free reign to do as you please because I trust you to be your respectful selves. This blog is not about the gymnasts or their mothers or their family members ( multiple of which posted last year and were not approved to keep this blog about the fans of the sport) Yes I know insiders are fun but once they get in this place turns to , well lets just call them other places we love to hate and I don’t want that to happen here.

Good Luck

Ugh sorry you have to deal with immature trolls. I can’t imagine sifting through so much crap to find the genuine comments. Kudos to you GTT!🙂

    • gymtruthteller Says:

Now I have 3 people making comments offended that they think I mean them lol. Which is my point because I don’t know who to approve and whi not to approve. Lol.

      • Brittany Says:

Wow, that’s ridiculous. i know one of the new people that’s been on here, loves to argue for the sake of arguing cause they tried to argue with me on YouTube. When I saw that name commenting here, I was like, “here we go.”

      • gymtruthteller Says:

You need to email the name so I can check this person out lol

      • Brittany Says:

It got to the point that I just went an deleted my comment on the video cause I was so sick of her constant replies.

      • sanitynmotion Says:

What comment – this isn’t that Rein chick is it.

  2. sanitynmotion Says:

I’m not offended. Some people are just rude. At least when we disagree with each other it doesn’t turn into a tantrum of 5 yr olds.

    • Short1 Says:

Agreed! This is one of the few places I’ve come across where people can share their opinions and respectfully agree to disagree, instead of jumping down people’s throats.

  3. sanitynmotion Says:

Interesting though if a gymnast or parent posted here. What happened to GymMom? I know that last question was random.

  4. Ss Says:

Anyone see Jordan Chiles amanar? Pretty impressive for how young she is. Maybe she will be able to fill a specialist role in Tokyo, (haha I know I’m getting way ahead of myself).

Also I was really unimpressed with both Maggie and gabby’ floor routines. It looked like they both phoned in the choreography. I know this is usual for Gabby but I expected better from Maggie. I am also really hoping they change Gabby’s music by rio. It’s even worse than her 2012 routine was.

    • H Says:

      ditto that

    • tennisgrl456 Says:

I thought it looked good. I know some people are up in arms about someone so young performing such a dangerous vault when it is not necessary but I guess they are forgetting that she’ll be a senior in 2017 AND Maroney, Weiber, Skinner, and many other gymnasts started doing the Amanar well before there first year of senior competition. It looks safe at this point (which is more than can be said for when she went for it in the past) and that’s what is most important. It’s hard to believe that she isn’t a senior yet….she’s one of those gymnasts who has been around/relevant at this level for so long that you wonder if she’ll make it to Rio.

I have mixed feelings on the floor routines. Maggie can definitely sell a routine and I feel like this is the kind of routine she needs to make a push for Rio, but choreo could be better. Gabby’s floor has never impressed me. She has never really seemed to connect with her music or truly perform, but this one takes the cake. Her expression literally never changes during the entire routine.

      • Ilanchik20 Says:

I think Maggie’s music is okay this year and there are some good moments but how in the world did she get an 8.9 execution on that routine? Her last pass alone, her knees buckled and they almost touched the floor. Maggie’s big E on floor never make sense to me.

      • aerial Says:

I liked Maggie’s routine. I actually thought she put a lot of effort into her movement and expression. A big improvement from just a couple years ago.
My problem with Gabby is her lacklustre effort into her movement and ‘dance’. I swear, there are multiple times she is just walking around effortlessly between moves – no effort in arms, presentation, carriage, etc. This should be a deduction, but, the judges don’t ask me, of course!😉 It’s just a further turn-off for me, when you think of the girls dancing their a**es off, trying to connect with the audience, and looking like they truly love what they do. There are multiple juniors-going-senior that have done this since age 12.

    • G Says:

Yes! I think Chiles is great. I can see her and Deanne Soza being front runners in the next quad.

      • tennisgrl456 Says:

I adore Deanne Soza. I also NEED Morgan Hurd to stay healthy/continue to upgrade and make it to Rio😉

      • Sainabou Nyang Says:

Chiles just needs to get her mental game together. She also looks a little taller than last year which is why her bar routines looks a little labored.

      • G Says:

I love Morgan Hurd too! She’s such a lovely gymnast to watch. Once she gets her difficulty up I think she’ll be in the game for sure.

      • Gymbee Says:

I agree I love little Morgan Hurd! Can’t wait to see where she’ll get.

And I’m sorry you have to sift through so many nutters GTT!

  5. Becky Says:

That’s sucks. I really enjoy this blog and hope those idiots don’t ruin it for everyone

  6. exgymgurl Says:

Her name is rio and she dances on the sand…I wonder if marta is skipping the test event because rio is such a polluted dumphole with zika virus. I bet they dont stay in the village this year, they can put the whole delegation in a private house and have more control…

  7. G Says:

The nominative list for the City of Jesolo Trophy includes:
    Simone Biles
    Christina Desiderio
    Emily Gaskins
    Rachel Gowey
    Laurie Hernandez
    Sydney Johnson-Scharpf
    Ashton Locklear
    Aly Raisman
    Emily Schild
    MyKayla Skinner
    Ragan Smith
    Jordan Chiles
    Gabby Perea
    Emma Malabuyo
    Deanne Soza

    • tennisgrl456 Says:

Hmmm…No Foberg or Flatley. I wonder if it is bc of injury/illness or they have essentially been written off by Marta. Foberg never had a shot in my mind (and I’m not a fan of hers), but I hope that Flatley is not out of it yet:/

    • Gymbot Says:

      No key?

    • tennisgrl456 Says:

Okay, I just checked and Pac Rims is on the 17th and Jesolo is the 19th-20th. I know Key had a slight abdominal injury that caused her to miss the February camp. If I’m not mistaken, Pac Rims is slightly more prestigious bc of the competitors/team size. We know that Simone will be one of the seniors, so any senior not on this list could possibly be in the running or on the team for Pac Rims.

I’m not sure if Key’s injury will keep her out but I could definitely see Marta sending two of the following gymnasts to Pac Rims: Kocian, Flatley, Douglas, Nichols, Key.

      • tennisgrl456 Says:

Nevermind…Pac Rims isn’t until April 10th. I misread the article.

      • Ilanchik20 Says:

Apparently the year of the Olympics there is no limit on senior gymnasts. So Marta can send 6 seniors instead of 3 seniors, 3 juniors. She didn’t do that in 2012 but with so much more depth this time around, I’m kind of thinking Marta might go that way.

I really need Norah at Pac Rims, if she is not going to Jesolo.

      • gia20 Says:

Ugh. I’ll be happy if we dont have to see Gabby ever again. That girl gets on my last nerve.

      • Gymnast41 Says:

I’m definitely thinking Kocian, Biles, Douglas, and Nichols will be at pac rims considering they were on the world’ s team and Douglas/Nichols aren’t competing at jesolo because of scam…I really want aly there too and probably bailie

    • exgymgurl Says:

no kocian baumann flatley, jazzy ( ankle), key, meals

    • aerial Says:

ie. Simone + Aly + everyone else who isn’t being considered.

Simone is also doing Pac Rims. Gabby and Nichols are confirmed for that too, possibly Laurie. This one seems a true contender warm-up thus far.

And yep, I’d like to see Key there. She needs to do something, AA, and have a kick-arse meet at this point. I can’t believe how quickly Rio is coming!

  8. tennisgrl456 Says:

Thank you for all that you do, GTT! I’m sorry that you have to deal with trolls/crazy people.

In terms of the Rio team composition, I was giving some thought to the idea that Marta would only bring three AA gymnasts, meaning that with Simone being a lock, Gabby, Aly, and Maggie would be vying for the other two spots as AA gymnasts (and let’s face it…Gabby is going to be a lock so long as she doesn’t break, so it’s really one spot left). Given that the Tokyo team WILL be 4 AA gymnasts with specialists qualifying separately, I wonder if there is a chance that Marta will go with 4 AA gymnasts and 1 specialist. Obviously she wouldn’t let all 4 go up in prelims, but I don’t think that this is outside of the realm of possibility. The chances of the US NOT winning the gold with this team is slim to none and it would certainly send a strong message to the rest of the world: “Yeah, you better be worried. We won here without trying to piece together our team with specialists and had the set up been like Tokyo, we could have dropped our 5th member and completely destroyed you.”

Maybe I’m way off base but years ago the sport was ALL about the AA, then it moved towards favoring specialists, and now it is shifting towards favoring AA gymnasts again. Since this is the last Olympics before the teams will be completely composed of AA gymnasts, I could see the selection committee choosing to go with mostly AA gymnasts to get the US ahead of the game (more so than they already are).

  9. Dee Says:

Boo to the crazies even though sometimes it is entertaining. I’m just excited to see who makes this team.

  10. tennisgrl456 Says:

    Gymix results for the juniors:
    1) Perea
    2) Soza
    3) Malabuyo
    8) Chiles

Definitely thought the US would sweep the medals but NOT in this way. Chiles fell on floor and (I believe) put her hands down on beam.

  11. Sainabou Nyang Says:

Sounds like you need to hire an assistant/Secretary to weed thru all the crazys lol

  12. Melissa Says:

THANK YOU For not making this invisible!!!! For now haha

  13. Case Says:

Totally not offended and glad you are invoking these rules.

  14. Ilanchik20 Says:

Can someone tell me what the F Nastia is wearing here? Are those short wide-leg pants. And a shirt? Ugh.

Perhaps she should take fashion advice from Shawn lol

    • gymtruthteller Says:

      OMG I don’t know what that is.lol

    • KG Says:

What even is that?? Is she looking different these days? Botox-y or something?

And I’m rapidly losing interest in this sport. I used to love watching figure skating but the scoring and politics became too ridiculous. I feel like gym has taken a big leap in that direction too. I think with gymnastics, it has a lot to do with the USA’s dominance in the sport. Now that we feel like we can send any of the top 10, penny isn’t just going for the best athletes or what the team needs, but what marketing wants (GD). Ugh. I think the corruption wouldn’t have such a big place if Russia, Romania, and China were fielding more competitive teams.

And I don’t think Marta likes GD. She likes hard workers. And quiet hard workers (not girls who go blabbing to the media about gym drama, etc). Right now GD reminds me of mustafina… Where she looks like she’s going to bomb in podium training and she half asses everything because she knows they won’t leave her at home. Then goes out performs fairly well. I know it’s about results but how unfair for all of the other girls who bust it every day and may not make teams even when they deserve it.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

The hair extensions are out. The girl is not well put together

      • exgymgurl Says:

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=c1T61vX4wm4 she should take fashion and performance advice from pleshenko…. and at least watching the world feed I didnt hear her grating voice once

      • exgymgurl Says:

did anyone see nastia smoking at scam? I heard she has taken up smoking like her mom does to stay skinnier than her fiance..l

      • gymtruthteller Says:

Shouldn’t she know better than that ?

      • Ilanchik20 Says:

If this is true then LOL

In her book, she spent several pages talking about the importance of watching what you put in your body. I feel like she said something like “what you put in, you get out.” HA

      • Case Says:

LOL at Nastia smoking and her reasoning behind it. Shows her true intellect…or lack thereof.

      • Mim Says:

I swear Nastia has smoked for ages, hasn’t she?

As an aside, it’s shame you’re getting the crazies causing trouble and drama, GTT. So annoying!

    • exgymgurl Says:

Nastia is also taking advice from Tara Lipinski for fashoin. This was Taras genie in a bottle stars on ice cowtume reworked

    • gymnerd Says:

OMG, LMFAO. Is she trying out for Steve Urkel?

    • Guest Says:

It reminds me an uniform for Chemistry Lab.

    • sanitynmotion Says:

Is that a lab coat? Popeye called, he wants his pants back.

    • Gym Obsessed Says:

As others have said, her face looks super weird and this outfit is awful. The various lengths, the colors, the lace, everything…

  15. Ilanchik20 Says:

Now, this is the photo I like:

Asac is starting to show too, sort of lol.

  16. Ilanchik20 Says:

    Simone on Ellen Show LOL

    • Allie Says:

Thanks for posting this! I just love Simone… And that leo! Lol!🙂

    • Cupquaked Says:

That was precious! I loved her reaction when Ellen was listing off all of her awards. She’s so genuine and humble! I’m glad they had her do beam. It shows off the most skill in my opinion. I think Shawn (maybe Jordyn?) was on Ellen the year of their Olympics and Ellen got up on the beam and you could see what a “normal” person looked like on it. Lol.

    • Melanie Says:

I’m impressed by the number of actual skills she did on the beam. Usually they do a couple of jumps and a turn, maybe a couple BHS. She shined as usual!

    • sanitynmotion Says:

OMG I love Ellen. Literally almost died when she busted out the Efron leo.

And Simone, thank you for showing the world how awesome you are and what a better personality than some “other” shall not be named people.

    • JK Says:

What a sweet, down-to-earth girl Simone is. Thanks for posting this interview!

And Simone – please stay healthy. I honestly don’t think I could handle “Gabby Douglas, 2x Olympic AA champion”.

And to echo everyone’s sentiments, thanks GTT for continuing to keep this blog public despite having to constantly deal with crazy trolls. I’m not too excited about this year’s Olympics now that Kyla is out and Gabby is a lock no matter what, but I really enjoy reading your blog.

      • sanitynmotion Says:

I am still having to come to terms with Gabby being on the Rio team. She will not “not” be on that team unless she gets seriously hurt. She’ll be the “history making african-american gymnast” that I really hope doesn’t steal Simone’s thunder. What people fail to realize is how far ahead Simone is in her gymnastics; she’d have to fall twice for someone else to get the gold. Simone also has potential to medal individually (and gold) on vault and floor, and even beam.

I guess the only solace I have too in Kyla’s retirement is that if Kyla were to go for Rio, more than likely Gabby would just get her spot. Because let’s face it: Gabby’s getting a spot that someone else deserved. I feel like that someone else is Key and that’s why Marta put her on the blackball list. She can’t have Key coming out beating Gabby at her best events AND in the AA and then leaving Key at home. Not sure what happened last year (why Key wasn’t on that world team) but let’s face it it’s easier to dumb down Aly and Maggie’s scores to have Gabby beat them. Make Maggie do a DTY vault – Gabby’s beam and bars will outscore Maggie and floor scores are relatively low enough that Gabby won’t have to worry about Maggie outperforming her on floor. Same with Aly, only Aly’s bars are super weak and her floor needs to be solid second place behind Simone for Aly to factor in. Aly also needs a better/higher scoring beam set. Literally that beam is the only thing standing between Aly not going to Rio, because US needs a good, solid beamer and Gabby can’t be relied upon.

Sorry that whole comment was a long rant going everywhere. I’m not sure I even made a clear point.

  17. exgymgurl Says:

https://www.facebook.com/DouglasFamilyGold/?fref=photo and thenthere is this…. from the CO2 network

  18. Brainy Says:

    Simone = Class act.

  19. Ilanchik20 Says:

I don’t like Skinner but this amanar looks reasonably well.

    • Cupquaked Says:

I’m not super great at detecting vault errors because it goes by so fast but she definitely looks a lot cleaner in the air and her block is good. Her legs looked a little helicoptered towards the end though, maybe?

Maybe she’s finally realized her form was sucky and is trying to improve it. I think being named an alternate really hit her mentally. Not in a bad way just like a wake up call that she can be (and was) replaced. Especially if her form doesn’t improve.
