Week 3: Fabulous 8 fall back to earth

Florida beat Auburn 197.075 to 195.900

Bridget Sloan won the AA for her third time this season  with a 39.575.   Peyton Ersnt had a messy beam and finished with a 9.625

The wonder kids all fell back to earth.

Lizzie Leduc nailed floor for a 9,875 but fell off beam. Illinois lost to Michigan 196.900 to 195.150.  Talia Chiarelli fell off beam for a 9.225 and received a 9.875 on vault and 9.800 on floor.

LSU beat Kentucky  Sarah fell off bars for a 9.300 but hit beam for a 9.900. Lexie competed bars and received a 9.900. She also competed vault for a 9.725

Katelyn fell of beam and got to repeat her entire routine but okay. UCLA wins

Ebee Price:    Katelyn Ohashi

Oklahoma bounced back from being screwed to win their tri meet by almost 3 points. I feel bad leaving Oklahoma out of these updates

I was at the Florida meet. Sloan was badass on floor, McMurty vault is georgeous in person and nothing is better than Kennedy’s Arabian lol. Ernst was good too, just surprised by all the wobbles. I don’t know about the rest. It’s actually kind of hard to follow the routines when you are at the meet lol

P.S Asac commentated the LSU meet so I watched it. She was very good–much better than Nastia. It was cute how excited she was over Gnat’s stuck DTY, which she got s 10.0 for.

I watched some Alabama and Auburn with my nieces and got Courtney Kupets. Booo

who was asacs commentating partner, I found him so smooth and dreamy and so gymnastics knowledgable?

      • Ilanchik20 Says:

It was John R. He said Gnat’s mom coached his little sister early in her career and then she went to be an Olympian, which is not even true because she was an alternate but I guess lol.

        I really enjoyed Asac’s commentary.

And Gnat’s vault was amazing. Im so glad its not 12 yurchenko fulls anymore every NCAA meet.

    • sanitynmotion Says:

      Who is Gnat?

      • Ilanchik20 Says:

She is a junior at LSU and kind of badass. She’ll be DD’s “save the day” gymnast now that Jordan had graduated. Gnat was coached by her parents–her mom was a 1972 Olympian and dad was a gymnast at LSU when they still had men’s gymnastics. Her older sister competed for Alabama. She does a DTY in college. I’m sure Russia could use her lol.

      • sanitynmotion Says:

Haha oh so that’s her real name? I thought it was a nickname or something.

Obviously I don’t follow college gym…sigh. But her vault is harder than Nastia’s vault in elite. Let’s ponder this.

      • Ilanchik20 Says:

Her first name is Ashleigh lol

It’s a very nice DTY too. And she stuck it haha.
