I don’t have much to say about the men’s AA since I have watched very little of their meet so far…however, I just wanted to comment that I love these photos of Kohei walking past his photos of past titles and the one that was posted on USAG facebook of Simone doing the same. I can’t imagine what it would be like to walk past generations of World Champions and then oh, there’s me, me, and me again. Did Kohei win in 2009 too? Or was 2010 his first title?

he won in 2009 too.

He’s like the Michael Phelps of gymnastics.

09,10,11,13,14 and 12 olympic aa gold. Kohei and simone get married. That is all. j/k. Simone needs to marry one of the british guys. Also shang chungsong impressed me and needs a dty.

Kohei already has wife and kids. 😅

Think about King Kohei.. why is he not more dominate in the EF ala scherbo??
October 31, 2015 at 2:04 AM |
First off he gets lowballed big time. He had some beautiful routines like PB in prelims that were hacked by the judges. He also got screwed having to wait 11 minutes to perform on floor where he could have made finals. They basically make sure he doesn’t dominate the EF like he does the AA by low balling him.

Men’s AA needs complete 6 events so it may be not as easy as Women that you can dominate AA and a certain EF event at the same time because there may be more crazy guys who focus on EF events like Zonderland.
October 31, 2015 at 7:17 AM
I know but It looks like he rarely qualifies for EF??
October 31, 2015 at 7:27 AM
He usually makes one or 2. He was in the HB final last year and should have won over Epke and his shitty form.
October 31, 2015 at 7:28 AM
Kohei usually qualifies Floor and High bar. (But his Floor fell this year)

They made him wait 11 minutes. He went and put his coat on. This also happened to the Chinese on beam and don’t think for a second it wasn’t done on purpose. They lowballed Kohei so bad in prelims even I noticed it.

But I still enjoy Zonderland’s High Bar (I admit I love to watch flip-flip-flip) though his form is not very good.

He did it! Kohei won!! 🙂
October 31, 2015 at 4:45 AM |
They even tried to screw him.

I just got the end, but glad they didn’t succeded, then. He is lovely! (It’s strange to think of the words “lovely” and “cute” regarding to a man, but in Kohei’s case, they are very appropiate). What happened to Leyva, though? I thought he did a good qualification. And Russia is also bad in the boys’ department.

fall fest. The entire competition
October 31, 2015 at 5:09 AM
The beam’s curse from yesterday have spread, then.
October 31, 2015 at 5:31 AM
So the judges try to screw Kohei and he STILL ends up almost 2 points ahead of the runner-up? Give it up judges. Just let the guy freakin’ dominate.
October 31, 2015 at 6:50 AM
He was only 5 tenths ahead going into last event

Kohei has a trophy in his hands… The Longines, maybe?
October 31, 2015 at 5:02 AM |
Twitter says it is the Sport Hero of the Year trophy
October 31, 2015 at 5:43 AM |
Shit judging has made this sport unwatchable.

I think gymnastics should follow figure skating that making the scoring standard open.
October 31, 2015 at 7:50 AM
I forget where I read it but someone said they need to cap the difficulty score in gym and I was like no. That is the point of open scoring
October 31, 2015 at 6:23 AM |
Longines goes to Max Whitlock and Giulia Steingruber.
October 31, 2015 at 11:01 AM |
I like both Giulia and Max, so I am glad they won the longines prize.
October 31, 2015 at 6:20 PM |
Glad for them. Kohei received an award and nobody seemed to know what it was for. In fact, Kohei was looking at it as if he didn’t know either what it was supposed to be for when he posed for th pictures. It was funny! But on Twitter people said latter that it was the Sport Hero of the Year award.

The Cuba boy who won silver in AA is also impressive in his first debut in Worlds. Would he be the next Kohei?
October 31, 2015 at 12:20 PM |
That dude fucking FLIES!!! Kind of like Simone. But what’s fucked up is that his 2nd place finish doesn’t qualify him to Rio…he’d have to go through the test event…and what if he has a bad day? That’s just not right
October 31, 2015 at 3:23 PM
Ya, I doubt why EF medalist can qualify to OG but AA medalist can’t.
