Party at my house in 2024

partyatmyhouse

Who’s butt do I have to kiss to get Gymnastics tickets to the AA and team events?

Okay so Boston is only the US entry and its probably a long shot but I will be there.

And please ignore all the hating going on by the Boston media. They complain after we win World Series. That says it all.

I’m calling a spot on the living room floor.

    Good luck Bo$ton!

  2. JAS4 Says:

I will bring my sleeping bag 🙂 lol
I wonder if Marta will still be in charge then although she maybe more cyborg than human by then RoboMarta. Or if it will be her golden boy Valeri.

  3. gymnerd Says:

    Please count me in. 😀

The good thing is that Bostob is a sports town and has the existing infrastructure-stadiums, arenas, etc….. They could do like London did , build an olympic village and later conver them into Luxury apts afterwards.

I would say the only issues are the traffic obviously, having enough hotel rooms, and the airports. London had alt. Airports you could fly into that were close to London. Boston has Logan, Providence, and Manchester?

  5. Gymbee Says:

I was hoping Boston would get selected! And I know IOC is delighted to have non-dictatorship countries interested in hosting.
If Aly wins anything in Rio, she will definitely be one of the principal torch bearers 🙂

  6. Lithi Says:

Interesting. Here’s an article of the list of demands the IOC honchos wanted of themselves when it came to a host city. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/breaking/chi-excess-not-just-cost-turned-off-norway-to-2022-olympics-20141003-column.html

Don’t get me wrong, I like the Olympics; I hate the corporate cluster-fuck it’s become. Not to mention these bureaucrats are swimming in delusion thinking they’re some kind of royalty.

Dont want to read all? Then read the very last part/paragraph

    Happy weekend:-)

  8. SuperFran Says:

YOU GUYS. I literally am sitting front row right now at the Stanford vs sjsu meet. Ebee’s the shiz!

  9. Aerial Says:

Darnit… I would be happy not seeing Gabby compete again. I have a hard time cheering for self-obsessed people. She was a huge hit after her AA gold but her interview minutes later turned me off for life. “I inspired a nation…” Jesus christ. That’s not for YOU to declare!

Ok not point in getting riled up about the past.

Congrats to Boston. A good call IMO.

And if there is truth to the article about the IOC demands, I’m disgusted. That needs to go viral.

    • Gymbee Says:

I’m from Norway originally, and it was a pretty big deal there when the government said no to backing the 2022 bid. The people just weren’t behind it because of the IOC crazy demands.

  10. Akshay Says:

Nice win for the Patriots yesterday. Thank goodness they beat the awful Ravens, who have terrible fans.

    • Case Says:

Sorry but after last week’s game I think the whole NFL is rigged anyways. Super Bowl will be Patriots losing to Cowboys. I’m so bitter.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

WRONG. It will be the Patriots losing to the Seahawks.lol Tho I do like the fight in this Patriots team.

      • Case Says:

Wow, so ironic to see the Cowboys lose on the Calvin Johnson rule. Also made me smile….sorry but like I said I was bitter.

Pats might win it all. They’re looking tough.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

The Patriots didn’t look good at all in that last game which means hopefully they save their best for the last this time. We KILLED the Colts a few games ago so hopefully they suck that badly again.lol

      • Akshay Says:

Case, I assume you’re a Lions fan? I know you’re a Tigers fan in Baseball. I can sympathize with your pain.

I am also very happy that Manning’s Broncos lost today.

This was Manning’s ninth “one and done” in the playoffs, while Brady is going to his ninth AFC Championship Game.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

Yes she is a Lions fan. Bye Manning 🙂

      • sanitynmotion Says:

Soooooo happy Denver is OUT. Manning can’t close. His younger brother is a better closer. I hope we see Pats win this year and I’m not even a Pats fan.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

we need a title this year:)

    • gymtruthteller Says:

This Ravens team didn’t seem til bad but the fans 2 years ago were the biggest jerks I have ever encountered in sports. Right up there with Yankee fans

  11. Ilanchik20 Says:

Sloan got hurt in the first meet of the season. Sigh. But maybe it’s a blessing in disguise as she won’t have to perform the next 6 weeks.

  12. byrdisthewyrd Says:

So as of now, Skinner gets the thumbs up for SCAM. I know she’s been posting a lot of upgrades lately. I have to say though, I’m dying to hear everyone’s thoughts! https://usagym.org/pages/post.html?PostID=15322

    • G Says:

I’m sort of bummed, I was hoping they’d have Key or at least Kyla compete. I’m not a Skinner fan and I wanted her to go way this year. I know that’s mean but her form/skill chucking bugs me to no end.

      • byrdisthewyrd Says:

It surprised me because I thought for sure they’d start billing the Key/Biles showdown. Of course, I guess it’s all subject to change.

      • sainabou nyang Says:

If not Bailey, Nia should have been given the second slot imo since she came in second at nationals last year.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

I was hoping for key but skinner is fine. Maybe kyla will back into the cup this year since she backed out the last 2. Kyla is doing Kim zmeskals legend meet so as far as we know maybe she has decided 2 go to school

      • Melanie Says:

Much as I’d like to see the Key/Biles showdown, too, I’m fine with Skinner burning herself out early. The more she competes now, the more likely she’ll run out of gas by the end of the year. I don’t want her to be injured or anything, but something along the lines of her Nationals performance. Barely had energy to make it through her floor passes. She doesn’t need to be upgrading, she needs to be cleaning what she already has.

      • gymbot Says:

I had hoped we would see Raisman return.

Key injured her shoulder (?) late last season, Ross had/has the lumbar injury plus the hip injury at worlds – so I’m glad not to see either of them listed. I thought this might also be Maggie Nichols’ time to shine, or even Ernst if she’s still in elite – but Skinner is fine with me.

Mostly I’m sad about missing Iordache. Does anyone think Black can best Lopez for the series win and larger chunk of prize money?

      • mim Says:

Doesn’t Nia have some sort of injury at the moment?

Oh well, they figure Mykayla is the next senior AA-er after Kyla I suppose.

      • G Says:

        Nia is i njured?
I was also hoping to see Larissa at the American Cup. It’s shapping up to be a pretty boring/predictable competition.

  13. Ilanchik20 Says:

ASac and Kupets will be commentating for SEC. Now if only NBC would get it together.

One of the meets ASac is doing is in a town I live. I wonder if she’ll be here in person. That would be kind of fun!

  14. Ilanchik20 Says:

Anyone seen this? Thoughts? Supposedly Ponor is really back in the gym this time.

    The Problem with Romanian Comebacks

    • G Says:

I agree with the article for sure. There is definitely an issue when the program is still relying on gymnasts from the 04 and 08 quads. I like Ponor and I love Izbasa but they can’t expect the younger girls to step up if they feel like the veterans have their spots.

    • Dee Says:

Yesss!! While the younger ones need to step up, I love Ponor’s gymnastics, so no complaints here!

  15. Dark Vader Says:

Good luck to Boston! I think they would do an awesome shot hosting the Games. Definitely topping Atlanta 96!

  16. H Says:

Here are some videos of ohashi competing from gymnastic.com

  17. gymbot Says:

I was in Boston last night and heard Shawn Johnson on the radio promoting her proactiv coral something cream? Didn’t know if was relevant for discussion, but I’m not sure what age group is meant to be targeted by that commercial? Is Shawn Johnson still relevant to teens?

  18. gymbot Says:

    Also a Ross interview… http://arabianpunchfront.blogspot.com/2015/01/the-gym-max-family.html

    Some key points
-She’s deferring college next year to make the 2016 team, but aiming to compete for Standford or UCLA
-Hoping to push harder in gymnastics next year especially without school
-Back still not healed, so coaching and routines are being adjusted
-Marta apparently nixed her side aerial LOSO combo because it’s too risky for the TEAM. bhs+arabian combo not brought up. She’s working on a grigoras for beam
-working on the bahardwaj, amanar, and whip to arabian, but none are being incorporated into routines yet
-no in-bar work on bars, so rebuilding the routine for 2016

    • gymbot Says:

Also in same interview, Felicia Hano sounds really positive and well-rounded with some smart goals and perspective.

Probably most exciting for her is hoping to debut an amanar and kasamatsu (6.5) by nationals. Although I don’t know where Maroney is – the vault title at US championships could be more exciting than worlds with Biles, Skinner, Maroney and Hano competing outrageous vaults.

    • H Says:

Thanks, but my heart “stopped” for a moment since I thought you wrote Bross …

      • gymbot Says:

lol! I am pretty sure she is done with gymnastics. But what a surprise if she made a comeback for 2016.

I will always feel a little bad for her. Hopefully she’s happy with her work as a coach – and if she is still attempting to become a PT (so difficult to enter a program), I hope she gets where she wants to go.

      • Case Says:

Lol. The career of Bross is just never ending.

  19. Case Says:

Wow GTT! I think the Patriots are going to win another Super Bowl. I’m rooting for them even though I hate Belichick’s sweatshirt.

    • gymtruthteller Says:

Seahawks will be a lot tougher than the Colts were that is for sure. I just hope all the making fun of Peyton Manning I did last year when he got killed in the Superbowl doesn’t come back to haunt me.lol

  20. Ilanchik20 Says:

According to Twitter Buzz, Ohashi committed to UCLA. Super excited for her!!!

    • mim Says:

Just saw this! Really excited for her also. Glad she has the college gym experience ahead of her. She seems very happy which is nice.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

Glad she is happy but wish she had picked any other school but overrated and overscored ucla

  21. Akshay Says:

Apparently Shawn Johnson got fired from the Apprentice? I can’t stand Donald Trump, and I dislike the show. That said, I wanted Shawn to win, because GTT’s argument from DTWS holds true here: a vote for Shawn is a vote against Nastia. The more we hear about Shawn, the less we have to hear about Nastia.

  22. Ilanchik20 Says:

ASac’s wedding photos. These are actually very pretty! I’ve only seen a few before this:

    http://www.jspstudioblog.com/alicia-sacremone-brady-quinns-wedding-at-the-biltmore-hotel-in-miami/

    • gymtruthteller Says:

Alicia has big feet, the dress was ugly on the hanger but I liked it on her. Considering her God quotes I am surprised she hasn’t had 10 kids by now.lol

I don’t think any gymnasts were at that wedding but Comforte and maybe some no name from her childhood.

      • sanitynmotion Says:

All I gotta say is that wedding must have cost some big coin. Is her hubby still even in the NFL? I agree, I expect a preggo announcement soon, to follow in Memmels footsteps.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

No he is not in Nfl. If you call third string in the NFL then yes he was in the nfl. He played a few games or quarters when someone got injured and did better than guy he replaced but they still lost.
