Aly’s new commercial

I like the blue pair and that playground Aly runs through looks so familiar to me but I can’t place it. Reebok is the big time people. Great endorsement deal for Aly.

2014 Europeans official website

There is no need to watch the Olympics this year. The associated press has picked the winners. God I hope they are wrong. Imagine what Chan’s ego will be like if he wins? I would rather Plushenko win then him.

Looks like the fixed judging is in. The Russians have traded with Canada the men’s gold for the Pairs gold.

It says the US men’s hockey team won’t medal. We will see about that.

    Vanessa atler had a baby!!!!

Between the NHL players and others leaving their families at home you have to wonder…

    • gymtruthteller Says:

Heard about the baby, still don’t care. The Atler hype is dead

    • gymnerd Says:

Not sure what you mean by the last sentence, Exgymgurl…

GTT, speak for yourself. There are still people out there who are curious (morbidly so?) about Vanessa. Smartest thing the girl ever did was clam up after 2000 Trials. The conspiracy theories still abound…..

      • Case Says:

I care too. I like to keep track of all former Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup commercial stars and when they give birth.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

LMAO, Best comment this blog has ever had.

      • lol Says:

It is her blog who else would she be speaking for? Atler fanatics nearly ruined the gymternet in 1997 before it even got started. I am so happy she quit in the middle of Trials. It barely made that Olympic team watchable.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

Me too. I am glad she tanked and then went away

      • gymtruthteller Says:

I don’t even know how to mock this comment of

    • gymnerd Says:

And of course…what did she have? Name?

  2. sainabou nyang Says:

Speaking of figure skating, anyone see the 30 for 30 episode on Sun on Harding and Kerrigan?

    • gymtruthteller Says:

I Heard about it didn’t see it.

      • sainabou nyang Says:

The best part about the doc wad Kerrigans attitude after loosing to Oksana B. It was priceless how she bitched about Oksana crying with Joy about winning gold.

      • sanitynmotion Says:

Exactly, Kerrigan was a crybaby little beyotch who thought that gold was hers for the taking.

    • Tortuga Says:

I saw it. I was pretty young when all that happened so I didn’t know the timeline of the whole situation. I was under the impression that the attack was at the Olympics, apparently it was at nationals. But I definitely remember seeing it all over the news. Man Tonya got trashy. I still don’t believe two men would go out on their own to plan a hit on another athlete. It reminded me of the whole Shawn and Nastia theory that Nastia gave Shawn something to upset her stomach on the day of beam fianals. Then Shawn won anyway and people think she won the all around gold and not Nastia. Same thing with Kerrigan, she won silver but everyone thinks she won gold.

      • sanitynmotion Says:

I never got the impression people generalized Kerrigan was a gold medalist. You hear about Yamaguchi, the Terror, and Hughes and then Kwan is always in the spotlight because she was awesome and should have had it but Kerrigan not so much. She became a media darling after that Harding fiasco (she was kind of the media darling beforehand too) but mostly for her looks and Vera Wang outfits. Then she was on that parade at Disneyland and was muttering “this is lame” when she didn’t realized that was picked up by the mics. She came off as a spoiled baby brat face to me after that.

    • Lithi Says:

I did. I was surprised to hear about how Kerrigan’s silver was supposedly political. Considering this was probably the most attention ice skating had since Sonja Henie. *ducks* I laughed at how CBS was all pissed that Baiul won the gold, what the hell were they gonna do, call the judges and demand they re-do the scoring?

I heard about the Nastia supposedly giving Shawn something to upset her stomach as well, can you imagine if Nastia conspired to do a Harding-esque hit on Shawn?

  3. uglyfatkid Says:

Lol. You crack me up GTT.🙂

Can some please tell me how and the hell the team figure skating thing is supposed to work. I don’t know anything about how it is run.

  4. uglyfatkid Says:

Also, is it official then? Is Plushenko in and the other kid who has competed all year for the Russian men out?

    • gymnerd Says:

Yes, I’m pretty sure that’s official now. :\

      • uglyfatkid Says:

Oh wow. It will be interesting to see what shape Plush is in. I hope their gamble pays off.

      • uglyfatkid Says:

Strike that last sentence. I meant let’s see if their gamble pays off. I couldn’t give 2 hoots about Plush. It is just interesting to see countries gamble like this.🙂

    • Cee Says:

Ugh, I DETEST Plushy (oh excuse me, the “platinum medalist”). I honestly can’t stand even to see his face.

  5. mim Says:

for anyone who cares about australia, peggy’s selected teams for jesolo, nadia comanenci invitational and doha world cup. there is a disclaimer that basically says if they can’t verify their events beforehand, they won’t be competing so we could have a worlds 2013 sitch all over again.

and no alex eade, which is strange given she was at the recent aussie camp.

  6. mim Says:

oh and aly looks great in the commercial. good for her! she’s got sensible representation for sure.

  7. Gymbee Says:

I just read that Lais Souza got paralyzed in freestyle training for Sochi!😦

  8. sanitynmotion Says:

It totally looked like Aly’s mom!

And can I just say Aly got a major rack after retirement – totally reminds me of ASac lol. She looks great but still seems to have a ways to go before being in the elite scene again.

I also couldn’t help but think those Reeboks looked a lot like those Nike shoes – the bottoms at least.

    • Karlie Says:

haha yeah I thought it was! Too funny. And I agree…the puberty fairy definitely paid her a visit once she stopped training 40 hours a week.

      • Gymbee Says:

She had hit puberty way before London though, and I think if she keeps training like that she’ll get smaller.

Not like Shawn Johnson who looked 12 in Beijing. I’d say all the London girls apart from Gabby had at least started puberty – obvs they had growth spurts but I don’t think any of the 4 looked pre-pubescent.

      • Gymbee Says:

But yes I agree – she totally has ASac’s body!🙂

  9. katecoursey Says:

They posted a video of Simone’s upgrades from camp….that’s a cheng, right? Not the triple?
