Happy day one of the ALDS, Woo I mean the Women’s AA : Live Blogging

Kyla and Kohei won the Longines award. Well deserved. Kyla is so damn cute with her thank you’s I just want to push Simone off the podium.lol Just kidding. Simone is just as sweet.

Kohei is like. I already have one of these. Thanks

Hit the damn ball Red Sox. This is pissing me off.

GO AWAY NELLIE KIM YOU BIATCH

the red sox are ruining my good mood.

Feel free to hate on Simone’s gymnastics all you want but this kid is a adorable and the hate need’s to suck it.

Simone turning around Aliya’s medal even made Aliya smile. We never see Aliya smile unless she wins gold.

Rotation 4

This will be fun I have two little nieces running around the house why I try and watch this.lol They do not like my attention being elsewhere. Here kids eat some high fructose cookies and leave me be:) Just kidding brother. I will not poison the kids:)

I love the end of Chungsons’s floor routine but the rest is scary scary.lol She sells it well but………

Mustafina hit floor. She hit every tumbling pass with the same twisting issues but that was great. I knew she wouldn’t die after prelims. I don’t think she got the triple turn around though.

Nice floor for Iordache minus her twisting form. She nailed her first two passes and a step on her triple but that was best floor routine so far.

Yao hit floor too but I wasn’t really paying attention.

Kyla is next. She hit. A little short on the double pike but the rest was beautiful.

Simone is next. That floor score was huge a huge overscore. She had a huge step on her double double and was short on her full in but she was easily the best all around gymnast today. Her mother crying made me tear up. When did I start crying over gymnastics.lol

Congrats Simone, Kyla and Aliya

Rotation 3

Kyla is in the lead for now.Beam was a 14.533

Anyone have the link to the swiss timing thing that you download. That thing was amazing yesterday. It worked like a charm.

Simone hit beam but was slow on her leap connection to the back tuck. Two small bobbles and a step but better than prelims. 14.443

Ferrari hit floor with a few small steps on landing but great routine for her. I did not pay attention to leaps so

Damn it Chungsong off beam on her layout. Nailed double pike dismount.

Sorry I don’t sit through floor routines that start with a double tuck and a big step. If this girl can have the power for a double pike with that much back she should have a harder routine.

Much better beam routine for Musty in prelims. A big bobble on her double turn and one of two small balance checks. I am scared to see what they give her here.

Iordache off beam on her laid out full which was messy as hell.

Yao is off too

Great beam for Kyla. STill a little slower on the connection but it was beautiful. Should be scored around the same

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kyla hit bars looked better than prelims to me. She didn’t miss any handstands,
Simone same bars as usual.
IG is on something with their quick hits
Thanks gymnastwannabe for the live scoring
http://www.fig-docs.com/microsites/13Antwerp/livetabqualwag.php
Simone got a 14.700 on bars.
Mustafina hit bars with short landing and step to the side. Nice routine but full of form issues throughout. 15.233
Did I miss chunsong on bars. Or was she not shown?
Larissa hit bars but was still messy. Much better than prelims. 14.200
Yao did the Mo and nailed bars. Best routine by far. 15.333 that is kind of low especially with the upgrade but I wasn’t paying attention to see if anything was different. It should be illegal for her coach to stand up there and tell her when to let go like he did for the Mo.
feed is freezing for me now.
and down goes the live scoring.
ANYONE HAVE THE LIVE SCORING LINK????
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Rotation 1
They did not show Yao Jinnan. Anyone have her vault score?

Typical FTY by Kyla. A hop and an ugly leotard:) 15.3 something.
Typical Simone Amanar with a step. Big but not huge. 15.850
FTY Chunsong, 1992 this is not and it was piked
Musty, DTY, Small step. Might have been short of twist, ugly form, her usual 14.891?
Larissa, DTY, A little messy but better than usual for her.
Ferrari bars, missed 1st two handstands and swings the bars very slow but she hit with no huge mistake.
Great Britain stole Shannon Miller’s schrunchies:)

If you get me started Case I will talk baseball all day.lol

I love the Japanese leo’s this year.

IG Called Larissa’s DTY clean. Could they be any more biased towards Romania as usual? I am the first to say Kyla’s was not as clean as it could be but her black is great and the judges are rewarding that
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Pink freaking leotards? really Kyla and Simone. Shamful.
Tell me again the purpose of this freaking color?
The judges: BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The feed is up

GGMB says this will work for outside the US

I will be live blogging above the picture to make it easier and will put the picture back when all is said and done.

Today is game one of the ALDS. This is my Holy week though I kind of forget what it feels like it has been many years. I have the nieces coming over at 3 but hope to get in a full day of live blogging the womens AA.

Now Case is rooting for her Tigers to win I am 100% Sox of the red variety but I honestly don’t know if we will win this series. We own the edge 12-7 on Tampa for the season but for some reason the guy that has sucked all year is our first pitcher out of the gate because apparently he would have been disrespected if he wasn’t chosen to start and that as a fan pissed me off. Our manager is just another Francona and while that worked out in 04 and 07 this is 2013 and after chicken and beer gate it kind of makes me want to scream. Oh did I mention I got game 7 for the ALCS tickets yesterday. Sox have a thing of taking ALCS’s to game sevens so when choosing my game I said what the heck. I’ll choose game 7.

Case if the Sox lose to Tampa (shudder the thought) I hope your Tigers beat the annoying little Boston Athletics (trust me half the team used to play here) but if it comes down to who I would rather play it is OAKLAND. Your team scares the hell out of me. Verlander is good, no he is great but we have hit him in the past the soon to be Cy Young award winner is another story. I say no thanks to your team. Consider it a respect thing but then again, In order to be the best you have to beat the best. For the National league I have a motto, Anyone but the Dodgers:)

well this is a GYMNASTICS Blog so I thought I would attempt to live blog. This is the first year in forever (literally) that I like both US gymnasts competing in the AA. My personal preference is Kyla but I will be happy with Simone too. The only gymnast I won’t be happy with winning would be Larissa Iordache. Her form and bars and vault is atrocious and should keep her out of any AA. They will over score her big time on beam and floor in the AA and I personally think they lowballed her in prelims in favor of Izbasa winning the floor title. They are giving her a going away gift like they gave Gogean.

Off to look for clue’s on whop is wearing what.

    Well ASac… learn to pronounce Beths name. You arent Khorkina. And dont needle little mistakes. All three of them were amazing.

  2. tulip Says:

    My gut feeling is that Simone will take it. The order favors her. Last event, last to go:floor. It’s really hers to lose. Her personality is all over her floor routine and the judges seem to like a little enthusiasm in there. It suits her perfectly.
    The judges also appear to be doing a decent consistent job of counting connections correctly. The only benefit of the doubt scores seemed to go to Musty. So it looks like the judging may actually be fair… what a concept! Quick – someone tell Bruno annd Nelli Kim so they can go fix it lol

    I’m also thinking that since Kyla will be in a group worthy of her, her execution scores may go up a bit to reflect the gorgeous artistry. She may get the silver. However if Musty gets out of her head and goes all out, she could have a place on the podium. Maybe silver.

    Sorry for the stream of consciousness post here. I just had a lot if thought about these Worlds. Would really love Kyla to take it because she rose above Martas crap and handled it with such class over the last few years. As a 15-16 year old. I admire that. I’m pretty sure I would not have been a Marta pet at that age because I think I was a complete brat.

    • gymtruthteller Says:

      My gut feeling says it is Simone too but the one thing that scares me about her is she was 4 for 4 in prelims. I can’t remember the last time she did that two days in a row. If she does well in the AA I think event finals will be a small disaster.

      • DL Says:

        It’s hers to lose, really. Hopefully she’s mentally prepared to take it all, because she’s exciting to watch.

        I really wouldn’t mind seeing Ross be rewarded for being steady.

      • mim Says:

        simone for the win unless she gets nervous. I think simone gold, kyla silver and musty third … although I’d love to see a random get third!

  3. JAS4 Says:

    I hope the judges get the E-scores in check because there were questionable ones in prelims but not as bad as in London lol

  4. tulip Says:

    Want to hear a funny Tweddle story? In 08 I was consulting for a multi national company and had a video conference with a woman in Scotland whose last name was Tweddle. First name was NOT Beth. Let’s say it was Sally. So it was right after Beijing and I had been so rooting for Beth. So I kept referring to her as Beth Tweddle during the discussion. She was psuch a trooper. At the end of the hour conference of me completely missing her name she said “I’m assuming that we’re both gymnastics fans because even though my name is Sally, I’m pleased for you to call me Beth”.

    Cue the bright red face and stuttering apologies.

    • gymtruthteller Says:

      HAHA I love that story. I used to work with someone whose last name was close to Mustafina and I would always call him that without thinking. We worked together for years so I don’t know what he thought about it.lol

    • Gymbee Says:

      Haha Tulip you made me laugh out loud on the tube into work!

      I made a gymnasts name into a swear word accidentally. Remember the Russian Anna Chepaleva? She competed at the 2000 Olympics. I lived in Italy for a year, and my husband is Italian. When I was learning italian, I learned that ch is pronounced k.

      In Italy, “che palle” is a swear word, sorta. It literally means “what balls”, and is pronounced “ke pall-eh”. Anyway, whenever I was frustrated I go “chepalleva!” anyway, my gymnast friends found it silly :-p

  5. Case Says:

    Big day, AA finals and I’m thinking it’s going to be Simone too.

    Also, AL playoffs starting tonight. Desperately hoping it’s the Tigers turn to take it all….with the Sox and Pirates as my second and third choices.

  6. sainabou nyang Says:

    What I think will happen:

    Simone=Gold, Kyla= Silver, Musty/Yao/Larissa=Bronze

    What I hope will happen=
    Musty=Gold, Kyla=Silver, Simone=Bronze

  7. Gymbee Says:

    I hope:

    Kyla gold, Simone Silver, Larissa/Musty bronze

  8. biyatch Says:

    I could totally see Kyla winning and Simone taking silver for some reason. Like 2009 although I don’t think it will be floor that Simone gives it away, I think it will be beam. If Simone falters on beam I don’t think the floor judges will let her win it if

    I don’t think its Musty’s head that’s the problem, I think its her physical condition. Knees look like they’re hurting and she’s lacking endurance.

    • mim Says:

      bea from the couch gymnast mentioned watching her in training and said she seemed to be pushing through a lot of pain. she said the same thing, suspected it was her knees bothering her.

    • sainabou nyang Says:

      Is it both knees or the knee with the ACL injury?

  9. DL Says:

    I want to badly to stay awake to watch this live…but I guess I can also live with going to bed and being surprised. The last time this happened I woke up and was like, wtf, Wieber’s out of the AA? Looking forward to all your comments :p

  10. Case Says:

    Appreciate the blogging since I can’t watch live!

    I don’t really want to play the Red Sox either. I got “home game 2” ALCS tickets myself so hopefully we’ll both get to see those ALCS games. PS. Verlander version 2013 is not as good as prior years. Scherzer is better. : )

    And now on to gymnastics….

  11. Case Says:

    Oh and I’m all flattered about the shout out in the main blog post. LOL.

  12. brainy Says:

    https://www.facebook.com/InternationalGymnast — “Ross – USA – VT – Yurchenko double full – big Yurchenko double full-little leg separation on her back handspring phase, and a small hop on the landing, but right in the middle of the mat. 15.366”

  13. Dee Says:

    woah, Millousi from Greece is competing today? I thought she retired after London! score

  14. brainy Says:

    Biles – USA – VT – Amanar (Yurchenko 2 1/2) absolutely huge-one step on the landing forward. 15.85

  15. Biyatch Says:

    After seeing Kyla’s dty, the judges actually have to score the others properly.

  16. Dee Says:

    Larisa’s DTY 15.03 I believe…she is now in 3rd.

  17. Case Says:

    How was Yao Jinnan’s vault?

  18. Biyatch Says:

    Mitch and Christine commentating make me so happy. They’re pretty high on Simone.

  19. Case Says:

    Pirates up on the Cardinals 4-0 in the 5th which makes me happy because the Cardinals are like kryptonite to us. Plus the Pirates have sucked for like ever so it’s time for a little success over there. But I won’t distract you further from gymnastics.

  20. Stephen Says:

    The double-twisting double layout is now officially named “the Moors”!

  21. Dee Says:

    wow, I really like Elizabeth Seitz’ floor. She actually dances!

    15.1 for kyla on bars

  24. Biyatch Says:

    Simone hits bars!!!!

  25. brainy Says:

    https://www.facebook.com/InternationalGymnast – “Ross – USA – UB – inside stalder Maloney to Pak, Maloney half, inside stalder blind to Jaeger, inside stalder full to bail, toe shoot up, double layout with a very tiny hop backwards on the landing. Perfect form and swing throughout, the only problem was after the inside stalder full one of her hands almost slipped, but she recovered very well and had no problems on the bail. 15.1 “

  26. Dee Says:

    15.1 Kyla bars…she looked so good. My nerves are so bad right now!!

  27. Biyatch Says:

    Musty hit bars 15.233 .426 behind Simone

  28. brainy Says:

    Seems like beam will tell the tale.

  29. Karlie Says:

    Where are people watching this?? Arghh I actually got out on time!

  30. Biyatch Says:

    If kyla, simone and Larissa hit beam and floor I don’t think Musty has a chance for the podium

  31. Dee Says:

    What was that forward release move that Yao (i believe) just did!? I almost crapped my pants.

  32. Stephen Says:

    Simone hits beam!!

  33. Biyatch Says:

    Bam. Simone is the world champ. Got through beam…

  34. Karlie Says:

    Biles beam – looked a little kittery, covered a few wobbles very well. One slow connection but otherwise confident hit set. Hop on landing of dismount.

  35. Karlie Says:

    SHang off beam. Rats.

  36. Karlie Says:

    Aliya’s beam score seemed a little low – she missed one connection and had a step on the landing but otherwise it looked decent. 14.233

    Larisa OFF BEAM. wow. Simone and Kyla have this.

  37. Biyatch Says:

    Musty might have life yet for the podium. Larissa off. Musty .693 behind Simone.

    • Dee Says:

      Podium of Musty, Simone and Kyla would be awesome. I wouldn’t even care the order.

      • Karlie Says:

        Yao off beam on standing full. Sadness. šŸ˜¦ Looks like that’ll be the podium barring something drastic.

      • Karlie Says:

        FIngers crossed, at any rate; knock on wood that I didn’t jinx that. Pumped to see Simone on floor

      • Biyatch Says:

        She still has to get through floor and the pressure will be on because Larissa can put up big skills.

  38. Stephen Says:

    Kyla sticks her beam dismount! Hit routine otherwise only 3 tiny wobbles!

  39. Stephen Says:

    Kyla’s leading by .017 !!

  40. casey Says:

    omg if kyla comes away with this!!

  41. Biyatch Says:

    Kyla moves ahead of Simone by .016. Pressure will be on for everyone to hit floor.

  42. Dee Says:

    Good beam for Kyla…oh boy.

  43. Case Says:

    Steingruber with a legit floor score too.

  44. brainy Says:

    Kyla just helped her prospects at beam EF — judges want to award medals to gymnasts who hit throughout the entire competition.

  45. Karlie Says:

    Nice floor for Shang, she smiled a bit which was nice to see – she looked pissed as hell after beam (as did Larissa).

  46. Stephen Says:

    Aliya hits floor. Sticks first 2 passes. .3 step on helicopter triple , .1 step on double back. Maybe a tiny bit under-rotated on quadruple turn.

  47. Stephen Says:

    Kyla needs 13.857 to pass Mustafina.

  48. Dee Says:

    If I was competing beam while Shang is on floor and I heard that random midwestern gun fire in the middle of her music I’d pass the heck out. Lord!!!!!!

  49. Karlie Says:

    14.7 for Iordache’s floor, leaving her at 57.766. Aliya’s final score was 58.856.

  50. Stephen Says:

    14.7 on floor for Larisa.Shame, she’d have bronze if she didn’t fall on beam.

  51. Gymbee Says:

    Chunsong. Gotta love a floor routine with gunshots as part of the music haha.

  52. Karlie Says:

    HOLY SHIT KYLA NAILED FLOOR

  53. Karlie Says:

    Simone HIT.

  54. Stephen Says:

    Simone is 2013 AA Champion!

  55. Case Says:

    Speaks to the strength/depth of USA gymnastics when the 2013 world AA champ wasn’t even in London. Great job to both Simone and Kyla!

  56. exgymgurl Says:

    Its a fair result. Mustafina looks like shes in pain.

  57. exgymgurl Says:

    Kyla gets longines

  58. Dee Says:

    They are giving out the Longines elegance award!

  59. nero Says:

    YAAAAAY what a great Birthday present!!! Simone and Kyla go 1-2 and Kyla wins Longines prize and GETS TO KISS PHILLIP BOY

    Simone is so freaking adorable

    HATERS GONNA HATE

    • Dee Says:

      oh my goodness, when she jumped up on the podium to hug Kyla…that was the cutest thing I’ve seen in forever.

  60. exgymgurl Says:

    She can decline the check. In fact to keep NCAA eligibility she has to. Or I think USAG can hold it in trust for her.

  61. Karlie Says:

    Parting thoughts before I leave for soccer practice:

    -Simone’s floor was an overscore (landings pretty bouncy), expected a 14.9 or so, but she should have easily won either way. Thrilled for her! Seeing her mom cry and her jumping up and down really made me smile.

    -Kyla’s performance was AWESOME. Floor of her life. So, so happy for the girl who was almost screwed over for Nastia last year; she’s come so far! Plus the Longines prize, major props.

    -Kyla’s coach continues to prove how classy she is. She gave Simone a HUGE hug after Simone’s floor, and before Simone went up, she shouted something like “you’ve got this!” Love it.

    -Proud that Mustafina hung in there and toughed it out. Poor Musty, she was grimacing even as she bent her knee to put on her sweatpants (it was the ACL knee, I believe). I hope she kills it in the bars final.

    -The moment between Moors and Mutsafina where they were hugging and smiling after Musty’s floor was too cute, one of the most adorable things I’ve ever seen.

    -Larissa’s floor was awesome.

    Alright, I gotta run but AHHH so happy. Sorry for the stream of consciousness updates šŸ™‚

  62. nero Says:

    SIMONES PARENTS ARE ADORABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Dee Says:

      i know!! i got teary-eyed when i saw them in the stands. i cant even imagine how proud they must be!

    • biyatch Says:

      yeah that was total win.

    • exgymgurl Says:

      Heck I hope Simone hangs on for the whole quad and doesnt get injured or burnt out. Shes so amazing, she and Kyla compliment eachother so well, and as hurt as Mustafina has been, I think she did amazing. Shes always a gamer. I think the judges appreciate the diversity in USA gymnastics, and if Kyla keeps upgrading those two will be best in the world for a while. I just hope Kyla is happy nothing to be ashamed of at all. Kyla has really taken on the big sister role. Amazing how McKayla is so quiet on twitter. I think she really expected to qual to finals over Kyla on AA and Floor.

      Kylas coach is awesome. I think Simones coach is nice too. And I think the two of them make eachother better. Simone has an awesome story. Collapsing and burning at Classics was the right timing. She was so prepared and so confident. She has the personality everyone wishes Gabby had. And I dont think her parents care if she makes them millionaires or moves them to LA. Props to this kiddo.

      • Flippateer Says:

        I haven’t gotten to watch yet, but Mac put up a ton of keeks yesterday and a couple of congratulatory messages to Kyla and Simone. I’m sure she’s disappointed but she’s still publicly being a good teammate.

  63. sainabou nyang Says:

    Wow what an AA final. So much better than London. It was down to the past tenth just the way a competition should be.

    Congrats Simone and Kyla. Congrats to Musty for never giving up.

  64. exgymgurl Says:

    I think she is the first African American world AA champ???? I know not olympic champ but I wonder if she gets the Oprah treatment. NOT…..

    • gymtruthteller Says:

      Simone needs to stay the hell away from Oprah. Her sap story is way better than Gabby’s fake one.

    • Flippateer Says:

      Gabby, Kyla, Simone, their coaches, all manifestations of the diversity of elite gymnastics increasing. Speaking as a minority myself, I look forward to a day when all the “firsts” are over with and this level of diversity is taken for granted – expected rather than celebrated as groundbreaking and unusual.

  65. biyatch Says:

    I am so looking forward to the garbage that is about to come out of Valentina’s mouth and all the crazy Russian fans.

  66. exgymgurl Says:

    Oh and just one more thing. The top three all did well, no major mistakes. And now gabby cant say USAG didnt let her comeback because they dont like African Americans…..

  67. sainabou nyang Says:

    Can I also say that Simone winning AA is so much more enjoyable than Gabby winning AA? Even though I was rooting for musty, I’m ok with how this AA turned out.

    • Stephen Says:

      Yes you can say that. It’s because Simone has class which is something Gabby “we all have to learn to deal with disappointments” Douglas could do with a few lessons in.

    • gymtruthteller Says:

      Simone and her family are so very likable I don’t see how anyone can hate them. I HATE her floor minus the tumbling and she could use some flow to her movement on beam but she every bit earned this title.

      Kyla needs floor upgrades and a new beam dismount and we have a real AA competition. I don’t think the Amanar would even matter,

      I disagree that Simone could improve a lot. Unless she becomes a ballerina floor will never get better. She needs to fix her beam connections but so does Kyla. Can’t say I remember the last time anyone became a real dancer that was this bad and I don’t want to seem like I am nit picking because Kyla was given a huge gift on vault but both could improve.

      I however love both these gymnasts way better than the last 2 quads.

      • exgymgurl Says:

        Yes. These two can carry us to Rio can you imagine what three up three count looks like if they plus ohashi are healthy? This either devistates or motivates Katelyn and I hope its the latter.

      • sainabou nyang Says:

        Amen! I thought this worlds was gonna suck but this was the best post Olympics worlds I’ve ever watched.

      • Flippateer Says:

        Well, just of the active elites, we have to see what Ebee, Bailie and Laurie will do, as well as whether Mac becomes an even bigger force in vault (TTY) or makes good on her goal to be an AAer. Interested to see if Brenna can step up her game after the personal disappointment of this Worlds, too. And who knows who else will emerge in the next three years. E.g. Gabby wasn’t really a top contender until Olympic year. As usual, Marta will get to handpick from an extremely strong field by 2016.

  68. nero Says:

    I’m just saying…..Kyla and Aliya basically hit it out of the park. They both were at like 98% today. A few slow connections but basically the best they could ask for.

    Simone, on the other hand, had a lot of areas she could have improved on. Big step on vault, connections on beam, step on dismount, big steps on floor. She was like 89% today. And she STILL won by almost a point. And wasn’t her beam like half a point higher earlier this year??

    She doesn’t chuck any skills, she just needs to work on her flexibility and adding in more difficulty on bars and beam.

    This girl is fierce. Unless she has some freak injury I expect her to contend for the AA title the next coming years.

    And hopefully this is the kick in the pants for Kyla and the girl is tired of playing second fiddle to her teammates. I hope we see her upgrade, even if it’s slowly, over the next few years.

  69. biyatch Says:

    Can you imagine the epic floor battle at nationals next year between Raisman and Biles if Aly is able to return to London form. I know that comeback is a long shot but that could be a pretty ridiculous battle.

  70. biyatch Says:

    Oh and this is hilarious. http://tripletwistblog.tumblr.com/image/63107048372

    • gymtruthteller Says:

      • gymtruthteller Says:

        It gives me hope she has read all the stuff about her. If you google yourself expect it. I tumblred myself once and once was enough.

      haha. But I bet Shawn couldn’t even pick Simone out of a lineup. She probably doesn’t even know Worlds is going on right now

    • exgymgurl Says:

      That is the best thing ever….but all three of them deserve major props. I love that the top three all went clean with no falls/ major mistakes.

    • biyatch Says:

      McKayla, Jordyn and Aly have taken to twitter to congratulate the girls. Where’s Gabby? Lol. I wonder if she even knows the world championships are going on.

      • Case Says:

        Fatalie has Gabby making a movie about her awesome life. She can’t be bothered with worlds.

      • exgymgurl Says:

        Its like team gabby doesnt know what to do. All of a sudden shes not the only african american with a world aa title…..and Simone actually has a better story than gabby. PS no one wants to see fatalie s ghetto fabulous Wendy Williams not even getting along with life story.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

        I love that Simone is sweet and genuine and so is Ebee. These girls should be celebrated not whiny two faced liars

      • Flippateer Says:

        Simone is one of those people who is so genuinely nice that you just can’t help but like her. As between the two AA champions, I prefer Gabby’s gymnastics at this point but (assuming Gabby could get back into 2012 shape, of course) I’d STILL be forced to root for Simone. Because she is awesome.

    • Akshay Says:

      LMAO out of all people, of COURSE it’s Nastia who searches her name.

      • Akshay Says:

        Might I add apparently she deleted her reply, but Triple Twist caught the screenshot fast enough. šŸ™‚

      • Akshay Says:

        Last comment on this topic (Sorry for the spam!), but apparently Bridget Sloan retweeted the same girl who posted that Nastia hate in the first place. Is she trying to say something here?

      • gymtruthteller Says:

        I don’t know I got rid of my twitter but bitch Nastia deserves all the hate she gets and anyone that sticks up for her is an idiot. There are always fans that kiss the ass of gymnasts and I am sure Bridget was not thrilled about the free pass Nastia got. I know Alicia wasn’t.

      • sanitynmotion Says:

        and knowing Alicia, she probably said shit all the time behind Nastia’s back to all the other girls, including Shawn and Bridget. I think it’s kind of funny.

        I still wonder if Kyla knows and what her thoughts on that whole thing are. She has to know by now.

  71. exgymgurl Says:

    Gabrielle was not even invited by GK to go to worlds. SNAP… great agent in LA you have there GD…

    • gymnerd Says:

      Oh, I’m sure GABRIELLE is much too busy training for her BIG COMEBACK to be bothered watcing these amateurs.

  72. Dee Says:

    This AA final was everything I was hoping London was going to be. In fact, I stopped following gymnastics for a few months because I was so let down by London. It just…was lackluster. Today was great…it was a wee bit emotional (Simone’s parents), a close race and so much personality (Simone turning around mustafina’s medal was super cute). Glad this happened, I feel like I can really get into this quad now.

    • Akshay Says:

      I agree that London’s AA Final was not that great. To be honest, I’ve been let down by the AA Finals in both Beijing and London.
      I enjoyed the final today, and I thought the judging – while there were a few places I disagreed with – was overall much better than at the Olympics.

  73. Tortuga Says:

    I didn’t get to watch the AA final till about six last night, and didn’t have time to go read everything. But I wanted to say I was solo happy with the top three. I was so emotional sniffing back tears. Simone is just bursting with energy and having the time of het life. And Kyla was exquisite as usual. I was sad that Larissa fell on beam, it would’ve been nice for her to have a better worlds after London, but there’s still beam finals. Also Kyla winning the elegance award was well deserved, plus she got a kiss from Philip Boy. Lucky duck! When they showed Simone’s parents hugging in the audience I about lost it. Sigh, so proud of the US ladies right now.

    • gymtruthteller Says:

      I even teared up at mom crying. These people are just genuine and easy to like and I keep stopping myself from calling her Grandma because she Simone’s mother.

      I didn’t see event finals today (I just watched Kyla) and am a little bit distracted by baseball (littttle bit) so I am off to fund Huang and Aliya and will post latar.

  74. sanitynmotion Says:

    I haven’t been able to watch the AA or anything else for that matter since I was gone this past weekend but I hope there’s You Tube videos of it all…ugh I don’t want to wait for NBC to show it.
