Worlds thoughts so far

Watch Mens AA Live right now

Kyla Ross should give up her earned spot in the Floor final at the 2013 when hell freezes over and the Devil wears Ice Skates. No a better suggestion would be when we can go back in time and Gabby Douglas gives up her beam spot to Kyla since she spent next to no time training because she was to busy doing interviews for her All Around win.

I hate the idea that anyone thinks Kyla should give up her spot. She earned this spot more than any other spot at this competition. She was in the first rotation competing against gymnasts that literally should be competing level 8 (Except Siqi) USA-Gymn cannot force Kyla to give up the spot but they can pressure her to without ever saying a word and I wouldn’t put it past them.

Ā

Al Fong is mad His blog is random and crazy and he kind of babbles but I am glad he is standing up for his gymnast. I just hope it does not backfire.

The question I want to know is this. Was Marta trying to tell Al that Brenna didn’t get to compete because she doesn’t have a second vault? Marta loves to play head games we all know this as fact but the way this is worded it seems to me that something more is going on that we weren’t privy too. I would not put it past Marta to tell Al, Brenna would have had the AA spot if she had the 2nd vault even though everyone in the real world knows that was never going to happen. Yes Al babbles but would it surprise any of you if Marta was lying to Al’s face the entire time?

Aliya Mustafina looks like she doesn’t even want to be here. That being said if I was going to pick a gymnast that could turn”that” performance into something better Aliya would be the gymnast. Than again maybe she is just fed up with the Russian shenanigans of the last year and this is what we get when she doesn’t give a ****.

Alicia Sacramone lost to Beth Tweddle for Nastia’s old position. I wondered why Alicia was at worlds.

Aly is on her way to Worlds.

I hope Izbasa isn’t given a going away prize for floor. Larissa has the best combination of tumbling and dance.

Nastia congratulated Beth on her new job and Carly retweeted it. You know these bitches were all about laughing at ASac losing. (Thanks Gigi)

Gymnastike has D and E scores for the top 8. I stole this from them by right clicking. Sorry the AA ended up there too.

Pleased for Beth, but I have to be honest, I wanted someone who had been screwed over in the role as athlete rep, like Alicia. But I guess they wouldn’t elect an American right after Nastia.

Read Fong’s blog too. What he said about short landing area in the Dutch gym, surely Simone and McKayla must have suffered too, not only Brenna.

    • gymtruthteller Says:

Is this even a real position?

      • Gymbee Says:

No don’t think so haha. I guess the statutes say they must have one, but I don’t really think Nastia “influenced” much at all.

  2. Case Says:

Beth > ASac anyways so in my opinion it was the right choice.

  3. Case Says:

It’ll be interesting to see if Al Fong modifies his blog posting at all after he simmers down. Marta is a raving biotch and could hurt his gym’s chances of future National Team placement, etc. I love the drama but hate the politics.

    • afroette Says:

IMHO, if Al Fong were going to say anything, he should have said something immediately afterwards or after Worlds. It seems like he’s bringing attention to the fact that McKayla didn’t perform as well as she could.

  4. Gymbee Says:

Impressed with Sam Mikulak! I wanted him to get bronze. Huge cock-up on high bar but at least he didn’t fall! But mostly I am impressed with his attitude, at end of routine he shrugged and smiled. And ran to congratulate the winners. All in all, I enjoy watching the mens competition for the sportsmanship and camaraderie between the competitors, as well as the actual gymnastics. Wish we could see more of that in WAG. Not as much crying and pouting on the sidelines.
Of course the men are much older, and the girls are very often teenagers, an age when everything is more dramatic šŸ™‚

    • gymtruthteller Says:

All the US men annoy the hell out of me because I find a lot of that so phony but Sam is the most likable of the group and he almost pulled it off.

Kohei is so reserved and that type of personality is why I love him as a person and his gymnastics is as close to perfect as you can get.

      • Gymbee Says:

I agree with you, normally some of the U.S men come off as phony, but there was just something about Sam that made me like him šŸ™‚ Can’t put a finger on it.
I loved the Japanese little celebration they had. I love Kohei. That whole camaraderie between them, Fabian, Sam and the coaches was lovely.

    • Short1 Says:

I was impressed with Sam too, he always seems to have such a great attitude regardless of the outcome. And I was so happy to see Fabian on the podium.

  5. Rose Says:

I love Ross and no she probably shouldn’t give up her spot because she earned it but it is a shame that she earned it because of a silly thing as maroney’s music going over. Her floor was a little sloppy in the tumbling and much easier than Maroney’s floor. She will only win a medal if others mess up. Happy for her though:)

    • gymtruthteller Says:

Mckayla should have earned the spot if she wanted it. If she and her coaches are not smart enough to check the time of her floor routine then that is their own stupidity.

    • sanitynmotion Says:

How much did she lose out with the timing of her routine?

  6. exgymgurl Says:

Biles is the first since miller in 1991 to qual AA and all four events. SHe deserves props. We are not Russia or Romania. Kyla earned the spot so shut up haters. Maroney could have done better and earned a spot. She didnt. Her loss. Kyla works hard all the time and people hate that. Get ovr it bitches!!!

    • gymtruthteller Says:

Biles is the first to make all event finals since Miller in 1995. The media is just stupid and doesn’t know its ass from its elbow. She only competed two events due to injury but she made all 4 event finals and no one from the US besides her and Biles have ever done that before.

      • exgymgurl Says:

I didnt think it was 1991 but no time to check. Its still DAMN impressive for Biles. And still super amazing. Especially considering its her first worlds. Its great for the US to have 2 gymnasts in each final

      • sanitynmotion Says:

Um, I have to add Miller’s making it in all 4 is still a bit more impressive (than Biles) given that 1995 was one year before the Olympics. This year (and is usually typical for one year after the Olympics) the competitive field is rather weak. People taking breaks and coming back, or not even coming back, and others taking care of injuries that probably should have been taken care of earlier but were postponed due to Olympic cycle.
Basically what I’m saying is that if Biles is still competing in 2015 it will be much harder for her to make all 4 event finals, but good for her.
I guess I’d have to ask too if in 1995 you had to perform 2 different vaults to make it. Not sure.

  7. JAS4 Says:

I think EFs may end up being more interesting than the AA
