Games People Play

Marta speaks AKA Marta lies

Kyla on bars. The full version not the bad part cut out like USA-Gymnastics version. Way to stay on with one arm. These bars look way too close together to me.

Yao’s Vault. Carly’s horrible music in the background and why does China have better USA leotards then the USA? Okay maybe not they look pink and purple close up but blue and red far away.

I am bored so I am done with videos. Its almost time for baseball and I would rather go watch that and get pissed at a bad ump call because everyone knows they suck then sit here and watch more videos of a sport where judges cheat and no one understands enough about the sport to report the facts to us. Lets go Mariners!!

We should have known when Marta said Mckayla could be an All Arounder at these worlds that she had a hidden agenda and would make sure that happened and she did just that.

I was one of the few people at the beginning of this who was all for Mckayla being the third AAer. With the first two spots set and Mckayla doing vault and floor there was no set UB/BB girl and so I agreed with the idea until camp.

Brenna beat Mckayla at camp. Mckayla fell 3 times (beam both days and bars day one which is the opposite of what I wrote before because apparently my dyslexia kicked in when I originally posted) add in Nationals and the way both girls competed before today’s podium training and Brenna earned the bars and beam specialist over Mckayla but once again Marta played her games and did what she wanted.

We all saw the training before today’s podium training. The decision was made before we got here and it was Brenna who did the job and Brenna who was screwed.

I love Mckayla but even if this was the idea the entire time you have rules for a reason and Marta doesn’t follow them when it suits her.

Why is Kyla doing the first day of prelims and Mckayla getting the prime spot on day 2 ahead of the two girls that went out there and proved themselves over and over again?

People have been talking for days that Kyla should get the spot that ends on beam and I find that completely ridiculous. She earned the better spot. The only gymnast that did not earn an All Around spot at worlds is the one being given the special treatment based solely on her name recognition and not on the merit of her talent.

This is not against Mckayla at all. She is just the gymnast Marta makes the decisions and she once again played these girls against each other for her enjoyment. I am so glad they all get along and see through her games. Smart kids.

While we are at it I got a message here at the blog yesterday telling me I should add Mckayla to the list of AA gymnasts. It was based in California with a “fake” e-mail address from Proctor and Gamble. I even sent a message to the e-mail and got a reply from someone claiming to not know who Mckayla was but this person ended up being right which means this person is in the know. I hate to break it to that person but I don’t play games. I don’t need any insiders and I don’t have the time or temperament to kiss ass for insider info so next time either send me a real e-mail address with a real name attached or don’t waste my time. If you want ass kissing I suggest GGMB. They will tell you are God while stabbing you in the back for secret insider information and that isn’t me.

I imagine Al Fong is upset. Apparently he was annoyed that McKayla was taken last year over Sarah, when Marta said she wasn’t taking a one-event athlete. And apparently there was never the whole McKayla will compete floor plan like we all thought at the Olympics. So now another one of his athletes is being screwed by Marta (for McKayla again). I wish he’d say something.

    • gymtruthteller Says:

Marta lies. Its what she does and no one should believe her. I am so annoyed about this and I like Mckayla. I wanted her to do all around but I don’t like these games Marta plays.

      • Short1 Says:

Same here, but I’m not too surprised since stringing people along/letting them believe they’re in the mix *seems* (* since there are no italics) to be the recurring theme.

    • Flippateer Says:

When was it established that McKayla was never going to compete FX in London (i.e., even prior to her injury)? I think I missed that…

      • Akshay Says:

According to Lauren, from the Couch Gymnast, everyone knew it was only for vault and that there was no way she was displacing gabby, Aly, or jordyn because she wasn’t consistent enough. Apparently some coaches were incredibly annoyed.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

As far as I know we all thought Mckayla was doing floor until podium but after the fact we were told Mckayla was never doing floor which means Marta telling coaches she wasn’t taking a one event gymnast was just more lies.

    • biyatch Says:

Price would have been called on before Sarah and if McKayla wasn’t in the picture I think Alicia would have gotten that spot so the US could have had a vault medal.

      • Case Says:

That’s what I think too. US was dead set on bringing home a vault medal and McKayla/Alicia gave them the best shot.

    • sanitynmotion Says:

Al Fong can’t say anything or he’ll be black-balled. That’s how Marta has all of her power.

  2. exgymgurl Says:

There’s an interview on gymnastike from right after championships where Marta hoped mckayla Kyla and Simone would all be AA competitors. I guess Terin Humphrey only gets you so far. This is like not using Anna Li in 2011

  3. exgymgurl Says:

Marta just flushed Brenna and if I were every other coach I’d be passed. Why go to camp since it means nothing. Kyla even sounds like a snob and less real saying or implying Simone and Brennan weren’t use to it and were nervous. Wonder if Mckayla and Kyla both make finals AA and Simone is Wieberized…… one of them will be

    • gymtruthteller Says:

This is why Chellsie didn’t go to camp. Yet it backfired on her because Marta took her out before she had the chance to pull what she did in 08. Show up, kick ass and take names

  4. Flippateer Says:

Brenna today. She sounds sad but kept things very classy and gracious in her interview – huge props to her.

    • gymtruthteller Says:

Classy is for wimps. Tell us Marta sucks (Okay I know she can’t but I wish she would)

    • gymtruthteller Says:

She looks like she is going to cry. She chokes up when talking about being the alternate.

      • Kittykat Says:

I’m furious about this. I like the idea of Maroney as an AAer and think she has huge potential, but to do this to Brenna is just cruel. And utterly pointless, only two can make the AA, there’s no team and Kyla won’t make floor or vault finals, Mckayla won’t make beam or bars finals. So why the hell are we wasting two routines? When Brenna could step in and potentially make bar finals, plus get valuable experience. I can say now that I truly despise Marta.

      • Stephen Says:

You could tell in Brenna’s eyes that she was crying before the interview. Ugh, there’s so much corruption in USAG. It makes no sense to have Mckayla do the AA when Brenna could have potentially qualified to bars finals.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

Sher would have been lucky to get in the bar finals but she earned the chance.

      • sainabou nyang Says:

I thought the same thing GTT. As soon as the word alternate left her mouth her voice shook a little. Even though i felt Peyton was a better choice, Brenna worked her ass off and should have been allowed to compete. The experience alone would have benefited her. If Mckayla qualifies to AA I will be shocked.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

This kind of reminds me of what we all think happened to Alicia last year. promised a spot but was never going to be given one.

      • Dee Says:

wow I just go to watch the Brenna interview and it was hard to sit through seeing how upset she was. It was obvious that she either was crying before or was about to. I love this sport but it always seems to have an over-abundance of let downs.

    • mim Says:

oh man she was about to cry in that interview. that makes me so sad for her and im not even the biggest fan of gymnastics.

it makes me fuming mad if these faceless corporate people are pulling strings and puppetering these teenage girls’ careers. im not naive but it doesn’t make me feel better about it.

add her to the list of people you want a tell all from. or someone give her chellsie’s or alicia’s phone number.

  5. exgymgurl Says:

Why even have camp? It was obvious had Lexus not gotten injured that she was going in Brennas spot. I wonder if Adidas and or PG did not drive this…..what more does Brenn a have to do? Part of me hopes Mckayla and Simone crash and burn on Marta

    • gymtruthteller Says:

PG? Proctor and gambel like the comments I got that said Mckayla would be doing AA????

      • exgymgurl Says:

Yes…… PG I THINK IS DRIVING A LOT of USA gymnastics….

      • gymtruthteller Says:

Think,know/ What do you think of the comments I got last night about Mckayla doing AA by someone claming to have a P and G e-mail address?

      • exgymgurl Says:

I think post championships mckayla walks out with an endorsement. I think all her routines are shown on nbc. I think gabby and jordyns deals are expiring. I think adidas has more swing internationally and needs McKayla as their gymnastics face. GAGE has an adidas deal also but McKayla is way more photogenic. Mckayla will probably b the face of P&G TEEN…..Yes. they do have that much pull.

      • Katie Says:

@exgymgurl- I think you are so right. McKayla is the hotshot of this quad and it makes perfect sense that P&G will endorse her.

      • mim Says:

that actually makes me sad for mckayla too. im sure she’d hate people second-guessing her skills because she got sponsorship.

or, maybe I’d just hope that and she’ll laugh her way to the bank.

none of this mckayla’s fault though. hope al is pissed at Marta instead of another gymnast.

      • Case Says:

        Exgymgurl nailed it.

    • biyatch Says:

Adidas doesn’t sponsor USAG anymore though… in fact they are the rival of one of Under Armour which is paying a ton for the USAG sponsorship and McKayla doesn’t currently have any contract with P&G.

      • sportsfan Says:

That’s only currently, though. P&G may be setting things up in their favor, so if Mckayla hits, they sign her up and she’s the new face of US gymnastics.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

But how did they know? I was sent the info the day before. The IP from Cali. Not sure the e-mail was really the person who sent me the info. It could have been used to make me think it was plus they won’t be back since I called them out on the

Insider info is too much for me to handle. The one time I could have blown the gymternet to pieces the night before anyone else I took it with a grain of salt and KABOOM

      • Akshay Says:

GTT, I definitely think whoever it was used that email to send you on a goose chase and cover their own tracks. As to how they know, beats me.

      • sportsfan Says:

All I can say is the person who emailed you was close enough to the decision makers to find out, or they had someone who was. That’s the only plausible thing I can think of.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

The California IP intrigues me but I never for a second thought the e-mail address was real

    • sanitynmotion Says:

Why didn’t P&G exercise this pull then prior to 2011 Worlds and ensure Shawn was on that team? She was already a “face” and very well established. In fact I thought at the time that Shawn would be somewhat protected from Marta given her celebrity status, but I was indeed wrong.

PG does have a base/headquarters in Northern California – the Bay Area.

  6. biyatch Says:

BTW, McKayla’s highest score internationally on bars… 13.95.

  7. exgymgurl Says:

    Asides sponsors mckayla

  8. exgymgurl Says:

I hate this stupid kindle that autocorrects. Adidas sponsors mckayla

    • biyatch Says:

Yeah but why would Marta/USAG care, Adidas doesnt sign their “paychecks,” one of Adidas’ main rivals does.

  9. exgymgurl Says:

FIG WOULD care about adidas. Internationally under armour is like a fly on the shoe of adidas

  10. exgymgurl Says:

Also if adidas has bought air time from nbc. Then usagym cares very much

  11. tulip Says:

Sports in general has lost any attempt at pretending it’s about fair play and competition instead of money and power. I remember reading before the Olympic trials that the USOC wanted McKayla to go for the sole purpose of winning a vault gold. They could have cared less about a 1 or 2 event gymnast. They wanted the gold. I’m sure we talked about that here.

I would love it if the USOC had more power than Marta. I’m seriously interested in why USGA is so enamored of her and lets her run amok causing damage and mayhem in her wake. Does anyone have any info at all? The USOC pays her and Bela to use their camp as an official Olympic training center and frankly I’d hardly describe the few photos I’ve seen as it being state of the art. I thought the Karolyis were notoriously cheap. Yet they keep on as in and collect even more money.

    • gymtruthteller Says:

Like welfare. These people live in new apartments have free cable and internet and never pay a dime.

    • sportsfan Says:

I think its because USOC is too busy trying to run itself like a corporate entity, instead of being the overseers of the Olympic sports. The leadership at USOC just doesn’t care about the people who are directly in charge of the individual sports, which mean the heads of each sport have complete autonomy.

  12. JAS4 Says:

I know Brenna may have been a long shot but from the videos we’ve seen and from what is said to have went on at camp she earned that bars/beam spot and I like the idea of McKayla doing all around but to make Brenna think she had the bars/beam spot then change it is just wrong

    • Dee Says:

I think it’s wrong, too. Plus, she could have given brenna some big stage experience because who is the USA gonna rely on in the upcoming worlds if Kyla and mckayla aren’t around?

The p&g thing gave me the creeps big time, GTT. That plus the AA switch has take this worlds from what I thought would be “meh” to WOAH – drama wise.

  13. mim Says:

this all leaves me curious with the question, how much do coaches manage expectations?

al has been around long enough to know what Marta is like. the gymnasts are commodities to her. surely he knows what she’s capable of. I wonder if the coaches try to filter this down to their athletes so they have some degree of awareness, ignore it if it isn’t their gymnast in the cross-fire or purely make it a non-issue so their gymnast doesn’t lose any fire or motivation (and did he really think sarah was going to make it over that vault? love Sarah but really??)

it’s like when Abby Milliet seemed devastated for not making worlds…. after inconsistencies and not making the national team. it was such a long shot for her, so how are coaches handling this? or is it good that they believe that can do anything?

different situation for brenna- I’d like to think brenna and mckayla knew they were fighting for the last spot until the final moment but who knows. someone else mentioned on the blog previously that maybe brenna was being used to fuel motivation for simone or kyla (especially scoring first at camp verifications many times)… maybe it was actually for mckayla too. we all know this worlds would probably be her only one but it’s a shame she doesn’t get to have a go, and a shame that mckayla now has added pressure of not screwing up when she might not even be ready for legit AA.

poor brenna- not the nicest way to potentially bookend an elite career.

    • Akshay Says:

From what I’ve heard he was mad because Marta said she wouldn’t be taking a one-event athlete and apparently everyone knew there were no plans to actually use McKayla on floor (and they used the toe as the reason, when in actuality, there were no plans to use her over Jordyn, Gabby, and Aly). He thought Sarah could contribute more on floor and beam especially.

I also think that (piggybacking on the motivation for Simone/Kyla point), that maybe Marta fears that Simone will implode (a la Classics), and she doesn’t think Kyla has the difficulty to challenge Aliya for Gold, and McKayla has more difficulty than Kyla (and especially can make up some ground if she’s especially great on vault and to a lesser degree floor). So maybe this is Marta’s version of insurance policy in the event Simone implodes under pressure or something like that. Either way, I do not like this at all, and imo this is classic Marta.

  14. DL Says:

Wow, Maroney looked DIRE on bars and beam in podium training. This is super unfair.

    • DL Says:

Oops, I mean in the other training videos. I haven’t seen her in podium training. But it still stands that the decision is unfair.

      • Dee Says:

Podium training she looked better. She seems to be improving by the day, which is so crazy. This really made things interesting now.

  15. Case Says:

To me, it comes down to this. In a year where only four team members are chosen to begin with, it’s poor coaching to only use three of them. There are so few opportunities to replicate the pressure on a stage like that, why not get as many girls the experience as possible?

I’ll also say it makes me a bit nervous that we only have three gymnasts in the entire US that Marta has deemed worthy of competing at worlds. She should be fired.

  16. exgymgurl Says:

Marta always uses fewer athletes. Beijing. 2011 world’s. I think in 2003 chellsie only got in because there were so many athletes out. Marta is notorious for this. I think in 2010 she would have kept Mattie out of team finals. Brenna would be competing for any other team except maybe china, even still maybe with her Amanar. US GIRLS THERE IS NO HONOR in wearing team U$A colors. Find your native homeland move there at 14 and compete for them.

    • mimi Says:

and now apparently nabs is out.

      seriously what the hell.

      • exgymgurl Says:

Grishna was lucky to be at home with Komova. And mckayla threw an amanar comparable to team finals…..

      • mimi Says:

her vaults were fantastic, especially the one stuck cold. and her bars don’t look too bad either.

      • mimi Says:

not too bad for mckayla that is. she’s not going to make a bars final any time soon but they look improved.

      • tulip Says:

Nooooo!!! I was really looking forward to watching her.

  17. Rose Says:

Hello! Lurker here chiming in. If I sound like an idiot, let me know and I will never post again:) I tend to ramble a bit.

I think Marta is probably putting Mckayla in the 4th subdivision to try to boost her scores since she needs it more than the other 2? I remember the Karolyis doing this before. When they would place the weakest beam worker last to help her score. She could also be thinking about helping Mckayla make floor finals.
It is obvious that Kyla and Simone can make it to the all around finals without any assistance and will most likely make it over Mckayla.
I think she is just giving MM experience in the AA. This is probably the worlds to do it. She was doing the same with Breanna by allowing her to come and train with the others and experience worlds. Marta probably wants to give Breanna more time with the Fongs to continue to improve her artistry.
Marta’s plan all along seemed to be to take 3 all arounders but then had second thoughts when Mckayla struggled. I think if you watch the videos you will see that Mckayla did improve on beam and bars in the latter videos. I particularly like her bars. I think she just needs to improve her flow on that event.
I think Breanna was looking good. Mckayla is being a little rushed (in my opinion) to do all around considering all of her injuries in the past and recent recovery from them. I hope over training and over competing won’t affect her performance on her best events. When Mckayla gets to vault finals, her vaults have never looked as good as they have in team finals. She just seems exhausted by then.

  18. Rose Says:

I also think Mckayla needs to be realistic about winning vault. I think she might have to settle for silver and I hope she is prepared for that. How is Hong looking?

  19. DL Says:

Wow, Shang Chunsong’s beam in podium training was quite spectacular.

  20. nero Says:

Damn, Simone was on fire today in podium training. Bars was fine, stuck dismount. Beam was great STUCK full in, floor was AMAZING no big hops back DLO half!!!! I hope she competes like that, it was fucking amazing.

And Mckayla….actually looked pretty good, you go girl. STUCK amanar. Bars was really good also, she rocked floor and was fucking rock solid on beam….until side aerial and she fell. Up until then though I was like “Where did this come from???”

I hope all 3 rock it in qualifications. I love Mac but even I have my doubts about her hitting bars AND beam but I hope she can pull it out.

And I hope someone took Brenna out for an ice cream…..and a pizza.

    • Flippateer Says:

USAG apparently didn’t think McKayla looked good enough to bother to clip her beam and bars and post to FB, so had to go digging for it. Posting here in case it saves anyone else some time.

Bars warmup at 1:00 (she falls off)
Bars routine at 1:09 – hit, but with couple of form breaks and step off mat on dismount
Beam routine at 1:37.11 – falls at side aerial. Two other noteworthy balance checks, one small one large. Much as I’m a fan of hers, I didn’t come away fully on board with the decision to take Brenna off.

Mac’s vault and floor were awesome. Yay for more stuck Amanars. Simone was rockin’ though – if she hits like that in competition, I’d hope she wins.

    • mim Says:

I know she’s only sixteen but hell give the girl a cocktail. you’d need it after the mind games she’s been put through!

  21. biyatch Says:

Interesting comments about managing expectations. In 2012, you would assume that most coaches knew that three of the spots on the team had been occupied since March (Gabby, Aly and Jo), leaving only 2 spots opened. Using that base you could count 11 of 12 scores that you would be okay with going up in team finals, just needing someone to go up instead of Aly on bars. Plus an extra beam worker if Jo was missing connections or Gabby was head casing. Kyla was literally the only one who fit that bars and beam mold at trials. Mac’s vault wasn’t super necessary in team finals and was just icing on the cake imo but I think that 5th spot was always going to be used for someone who could take home a vault medal, the question was just is it going to be Mac or Alicia.

I think it was you GTT who pointed it out but at the end of trials last year it was basically Gabby, Aly and Jo, the three who’s spots were secure, who were hysterically crying and the two on the brink that were keeping it together much better.

I’ve said it before but I think adding an additional beam worker would have caused a lot of problems in 2012 (whether it was Finnegan or ASac). You wanted Kyla as your steady leadoff, Gabby and Jo needed to do beam for AA qualifications and Aly (in addition to the AA) had earned her spot winning beam at nationals and trials. So who would you leave off in qualifications? Could have caused a lot of lineup drama.

I remember on the NBC broadcast Tim was talking about how someone had put it in Sabrina’s head that she was going to be able to make the team and her coaches were like WTF, if we make alternate its good.

Al in his blog had said that their goals were for Sarah to make the team and Brenna to be an alternate. I think Brenna only even got invited to trials so Bridget could go and as long as Aly was not dead it was unrealistic to think Sarah could make the team. Al’s next blog post could be quite telling.

Skinner is another one who seems to need to have her expectations tempered.

  22. lol Says:

How did Aliya and Larissa look? Why is Nabs out?

    • nero Says:

On everything but bars Aliya was a hot mess. Tucked, ugly vault, fall on beam iffy connections, ZERO choreography on floor and the child looks like she could fall on every tumbling pass.

Now, there’s no doubt in my mind she’ll turn in up for the comp. I wouldn’t be the least bit shocked if she won. But if Simone hits, especially like she did today, she should win. I didn’t watch Larissa sorry.

From what I hear Nabs has a concussion and is out of PT only. She’ll still compete though (WTF Russia) that’s the last I heard, it will probably change, the rumor mill you know. If she does have a concussion and they still let her compete that is 50 ways of fucked up.

      • tulip Says:

I thought Musty looked really tired in PT. Especially on floor. No energy.
I also found the recycled floor music interesting. Someone was using Jo’s from lasy year and another used Musty’s 2010 music, which I liked a whole lot.

I know this is nothing new but just need to comment after watching PT. It makes me crazy that they have the 2 per country rule. So many of these girls looked like middle of the pack for NCAA. Not trying to be mean. Just watching opening passes of under rotated double tucks and plain old Yurchenkos where I thought the poor girl would land on her face. Just not fair at all tobhave someone with start values of 24.5 thrown out so someone with a 19 can compete. Just wrong.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

Anyone throwing a Yurchenko full at this stage of the game needs to stop training vault.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

You’re not being mean you’re being honest and I agree.

      • nero Says:

I love Grandi’s explanation for wanting to go to a 4 person team in 2020 “Because teams don’t carry that many All Arounders anymore”

Well no fucking shit when you put the 2 per country rule in place there is absolutely no reason FOR a team to carry more than 2 or 3. It’s one big circle orchestrated by you dip shit.

Who has Jo’s music? IDK that makes me kind of go ewww. Someone had ASac’s exact cut of music. Like if you use the same song that’s fine but to have the exact same cut of all 3 pieces in the exact same way that’s kind of…..a no no.

      • Short1 Says:

@nero I kinda feel the same way about the music. I don’t think it’s too bad to use the same song(s), but at least try to use a different arrangement/version of it. Just out of curiosity, who has ASac’s music?

    • sainabou nyang Says:

I’m no expert but on beam, but many are saying that musty has no acro series. Unless u consider the front aerial to back tuck an acro series.
I wasn’t really impressed with her floor either. Bars were ok. Musty looks a little tired though.

Larissa looks ready. Her floor looked decent and there’s a rumor that her double double is back.

      • nero Says:

Wait….I thought forward to backward connections were no longer counted???

Yes if someone knows please answer. I’m confused now.

      • Short1 Says:

@nero Someone asked about this on Tumblr and here’s what one blogger (who knows what they’re talking about) had to say about it:

      • nero Says:

Ok thanks! I thought no front to back connections were allowed ever. Now that just cleared up my question but confused me a little bit more.

I’ll just trust that Aliya’s and all the other athlete’s coaches know what they’re doing haha

      • Short1 Says:

@nero You’re welcome, I was confused as well prior to reading that post! I’m still interested to see which connections do and don’t get credit in competition.

      • nero Says:

Yeah, they can’t swing the arms right? That’s going to be a bitch.

Aliya sure takes a big wind of her arms after he aerial…..but she’ll get it because she’s Queen Mustafina.

  23. exgymgurl Says:

I still say USA gymnastics slogan should be train here compete for any other country……no way I’d let my kiddo play in Martas sandbox. Athletes that are medal contenders from the US get left home every year….

    • gymtruthteller Says:

I don’t understand why they all don’t go to Canada. Canadians gymnasts suck and the US could totally take it over.

      • exgymgurl Says:

Canada. Mexico. Wherever who cares? That’s what I would do…

      • mim Says:

send them to Australia. apparently we suck so much we don’t send teams anywhere thesedays.

Simone was on FIRE. I hope she can keep it up. And McKayla looks better on beam (I think her legs were actually straight on her BH LOSO!) but her bars is a mess. And I want to put Shan Chunsong in my pocket – she’s so damn cute and talented.

  25. gymnastwannabe Says:

I wonder how McKayla feels about being in the AA. I wonder if she feels ready or wishes she just had two events. I know she likes the limelight and wants to show the world she can do more than vault, but she also doesn’t want to land on her *ss again…or a face plant off the bars. When athletes aren’t ready, the added pressure also makes them more susceptible to injury, so I hope she’s ready.

If enough coaches are pissed with Marta, they all need to find a backbone and stand up to her together…go public, do something for crying out loud instead of just watch your athletes get hurt by Marta’s mind games. If just one stands up, like Chellsie’s dad, nothing will happen. They all need to say enough is enough and the media will eat it up.

    • gymtruthteller Says:

Chellsie’s dad stood up for ten minutes and then when Chellsie was bribed he never said another word. Coaches won’t stand up because it will hurt their programs in the future.

      • gymnastwannabe Says:

I agree their programs will be hurt if they speak out separately, but if they all stood together, I think something could be done…BUT only if they stand up together and stand strong until things change. The coaches think Marta holds all the cards, but without athletes there is no program for Marta. A few boycotts of National Team training camps by ALL the coaches and athletes and I think some things could change. Really, a few boycotts by just our top athletes would make Marta squirm b/c w/out them, there are no medals and she is nobody. I can’t really feel sorry for the coaches or athletes anymore when they let themselves be walked on. Also, sometimes letting your program suffer by doing the right thing…is well, the right thing. …just my thoughts…

CHELLSIE WAS MORE THAN BRIBED. She got full USAGym retirement with judging.

    • gymtruthteller Says:

If she didn’t want to do AA she wouldn’t be doing it.

      • exgymgurl Says:

She said it her dream to be like nasties and Shawn as an a gymnast. Gag. Then she mentions God. That’s weird from McKayla.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

        Now I hope she

Re: games people play – LOL at USAG editing out McKayla’s fall off beam from its podium training clip on YouTube:

It irritates me despite my being pro-McKayla: obviously the decision to replace Brenna with McKayla on bars/beam is controversial, and fans viewing podium training are entitled to accurate footage of the everyone’s performances so we can make up our own minds re: whether we agree with Marta’s decision. Hiding the ball (making people dig through two hours of podium training footage to find out how PT actually went) isn’t cool.

    • nero Says:

They cut out Brenna’s fall on UB too. IDK why, it’s just PT. And yeah, we should count on accurate info. I didn’t even know Brenna fell until seeing someone else’s video a while later.

    • gymtruthteller Says:

They edited out all mistakes. Like we are too stupid to not notice. By the way Simone nailed everything to do. Hope she competes that way during prelims.

      • Anonymous Says:

does anyone know mkaylas start value on bars? 5.8?

imo she will be lucky to get an 8.0 in execution especially with the last 2 handstands being completely missed.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

        I read 5.9

  27. sanitynmotion Says:

I noticed that! I was like “they probably fell.” Seriously what is this, a communist sort of thing? Just show the reality, already.
