No shocks at all.
USA-Gymnastics official release
Simone Sap Story and I admit I was sapped in. Tough life for a kid and she still has a smile on her face. Though in my experience the smile on her face she had while talking about her birth mother was trying to hide the pain.
Discuss the team in this blog please.
Ebee was named alternate. Thanks Gigi

IMO this was the team they were going to take. Brenna is not a pretty gymnast to watch but she tries to improve and she earned the spot for two reasons. 1 she hit. Ugly as it may be she hit when other gymnasts did not. 2nd, there is no clear Uneven bar/ Beam girl to get the 4th spot. If Mckayla isn’t doing the AA than Brenna makes sense by default. She was 3rd on bars at Nationals with a 6.0 start value on night 1 and a 5.9 on night two (Scoring 14.500 and 14.350 ) She finished 9th on beam with a start value better meant not to be repeated.
After looking at that paragraph above maybe Dowell should not have been chosen. Peyton finished 4th on both bars and beam with the same start value on bars (6.0 and 5.9) and even with the fall she still beat Brenna on beam.
The more I think about this the more I think we should have just sent Simone, Kyla and Mckayla and left the 4th spot open but Marta appreciates gymnasts with big skills. Maybe she is hoping to get lucky.
If I had picked the team it would be Price. I would give her the time to heal and let her try bars. She earned that right earlier in the year. Personally I like Ernst and think she could have been given a shot. If she hits seems to be the worlds everyone is coming up with for Abby Milliet but Peyton did ten times the job Abby did and would deserve the spot before her. I actually am wondering why anyone even thought Milliet had a chance. She tanked Nationals and wasn’t even named to the Nationals team and she must not have hit at camp either because she is staying home.
All to hell with it if Mckayla is ready let her do AA and Dowell can watch from the stands. No one proved themselves at Nationals to deserve the 4th spot except Dowell and she can’t compete those 2 events due to the rules (4 gymnasts total, 3 spots on each event) Hell even scary Skinner would have made this team for vault if Kyla did not earn the AA spot. Imagine the US having 3 girls make the vault finals. (As ugly as Mykayla’s vaults are she easily would have been top 3 on vault and yes I remember the 2 per Country rule)
Anyone else have any opinions?
I am going back to baseball🙂
