Nothing wrong with collecting a bit more greenbacks while she still can.😉

She’s got a great agent is all I can say.

  2. Sara Says:

It’s interesting to compare her interview skills in the first one (before DWTS) to the second one a few days ago.

  3. sanitynmotion Says:

Shawn Johnson is to “bittersweet” as Aly is to “amazing.”

So Aly wants everyone from London to make the Rio team. I don’t think that will happen, but that’d definitely be a first.

So camp videos so far are Ross, Dowell, Maroney, Desch and Shchennikova. Gymnasts left are Nichols, Priessman, Hundley, Flatley, Gowey, Vasquez, Skinner, Locklear, Baker, Price, Key, Dennis, Hults, Quinn, Gaskins, Schild and Biles. No Ernst (not sure why?) and no Hernandez (coach had a baby). I’m most looking forward to Chow’s girls, Biles and Skinner. Biles is supposed to be training a full in DLO and Cheng, Skinner a half-on double full.

Also missing was Sabrina Vega – anyone know why she wasn’t at camp?

      • Catherine Says:

She’s recovering, her Finnegan and Ohashi were not expected to go, but the other two were.

      • byrdisthewyrd Says:

@Catherine, any scoop on how long they’ll be recovering or if they’re planning to compete at Classics? Or did they have to go to the camp to compete at Classics? I can’t ever keep all the rules straight.

      • exgymgurl Says:

Peyton Ernst had a surgery also and is recovering.

      • byrdisthewyrd Says:

Oh man, these poor girls are always so beat up. Out of curiosity, is there any kind of special insurance through USAG for the elites or do the parents just have to foot the bill through their insurance? I did roller derby for a while and we actually had to buy this special roller derby insurance, even if we already had health insurance, before we could compete, so it seems like there may be something similar for these girls.

      • sanitynmotion Says:

I had to purchase the same thing for playing water polo and swimming, and I’m not even close to being of the Olympic caliber. Usually it’s to cover the national entity (USAG for gymnastics, USA Water Polo; USA Swimming, etc.) – in case of injuries incurred during practice, it protects the coach/gym/facility from any liability. Each gym probably has to pay USAG annual fees as well and each coach probably the same thing to “belong” to it. Blah.

      • Catherine Says:

Word is no Finnegan this year unfortunately😦 No news on the others. I believe all 3 qualify to nationals by virtue of competing at nationals last year. Classics is more for new elites and comeback kids, afaik.

this YEAR? what happened to finnegan? it’s all so hush hush.
i wonder if she simply doesn’t want to compete rather than being severely injured.
        such a shame!

were so close to classics Im way more excited to see podium training in front of the media. Im pretty sure everyone at camp will be there and barring injury everyone else. Marta conducts mini camps at these national meets in podium training. Classics are more just grandstanding for her, but still it will be good to check and see where everyone is at. Im honestly surprised barring injury that Jordyn hasnt shown up. Aly and Gabby I get but Jordyn should have been training enough to make the national team. Maybe she just doesnt want to be obligated or trapped into going to camps.

I LOVED the music for her afro jazz dance but that would probably be too exhausting.

      • Tortuga Says:

Me too. Too bad it probably wouldn’t fly in elite gymnastics. That was my favorite dance of hers for the season.

    • Short1 Says:

That tweet made me so happy because her most recent music was a little hard on the ears (and I don’t mean that in a disrespectful way)!
