2012 Europeans (Men qualfying results plus)…..

This link is supposed to have live gymnastics. for Europeans. I think I read it starts at like 2 am. Don’t think so:)

Jair Lynch has his move added the code of points.

The official reasoning for the “Miller” on beam never being added to the code of points was because it was a move from an already named move yet, Jair is doing a move from an old move but it gets added?

I will never understand this reasoning. A Tkatchev is a Tkatchev regardless of the grip it ends in.

Here are the women start lists for Europeans

Grishina starting on beam. That’ll be a test, for sure.

    • laurensy Says:

She seems more confident . If she performs a routine like the one in Cottbus, I think she will be fine. But can she beat Afan and Paseka?

      • sanitynmotion Says:

        You mean Mustafina, right?

Honestly I’m hoping Bulimar pulls an upset (if Musty doesn’t win). I just think that would be funny.

        I didn’t see Grishina’s Cottbus routines though.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

Bulimar is my favorite current Romanian. I haven’t had one of those since Oana Ban.

      • sanitynmotion Says:

Still mad for her when they pulled her out of beam finals for Iordache. I like Iordache but Bulimar has got mad potential too – and it was her fair shot.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

Forget that. I was pissed they used Chelaru in prelims on floor but Diana in team finals screwing her of a chance at a floor medal. That still pisses me off.lol

      • sanitynmotion Says:

I didn’t even realize that. Guess they figured they’d save the floor medal for Ponor.

      • sainabou nyang Says:

Did you see the interview with Bulimar and Iordache in Doha? Bulimar speaks English very well and she sounded very mature and confident.

      • exgymgurl Says:

can you link that interview??? Id love that🙂

    • laurensy Says:

I meant Grishina. Her routine from Cottbus was probably her best I’ve seen from her.

      • sanitynmotion Says:

Oh I do remember that now. That was a great routine.

Can I just say I hate those bangs?

      • Case Says:

Word, Sanity. Those bangs are a deduction in my book too.

  2. exgymgurl Says:

Larissa is doing two vaults….. coolness

    • Catherine Says:

Her second vault is a tsuk full, worth just 5.2. It was very liked down at Doha. Pretty nonetheless. Hopefully she can improve and build on it.

      • exgymgurl Says:

Its Euros…. there may not be anyone with another vault that performs well. The Romanians get math and their medal opportunities.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

When did Church compete for the US at worlds again? She should be listed under Great Britain

      • Catherine Says:

Ugh I meant to say piked. Ah yeah I think she will medal. But not at worlds if it stays like that. She is also going to be lucky Berger and Izbasa won’t be at euros. I think its awesome such a strong all arounder has introduced a second vault at this stage. Hopefully it develops.

  3. exgymgurl Says:

Why did it take that guy like since 1996 to get an element named after him???

  4. exgymgurl Says:

Isnt the Miller on beam still in the COP? funny how it is not listed here…

    • gymtruthteller Says:

It was never in the code of points. They always cosidered it the Olmachickncjkdfckhjwdc, Sorry I hate her name.lol

    • gymtruthteller Says:

The Bhardwaj is still a pak. Yet it got named which is my point

      • sanitynmotion Says:

Yeah I was like WTF isn’t that a pak?

      • Catherine Says:

Well Jaeger 1/2’s are named in Wag? And I believe turns are different names and values depending on grip. If it makes it harder and its different then I think its right to attribute them to a gymnast. It is fun to think about though..I sometimes wonder had Groshkova gotten to worlds or olympics if her double full in would have been classed as a silivas and given the same value.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

I should have made this its own blog.lol

    • gymtruthteller Says:

and they don’t have the Miller on bars listed either? I remember when they left Miller’s UB world title out of an article to celebrate their first UB medal in thirty years when it had really been like ten.

Unless they took the Miller on bars out of the code this year they have fucked up again

      • Catherine Says:

What is the miller on bars? All I ever heard is Tim and co attributing the hop full to her.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

Miller’s move on bars was something like a cast 1.5 turn to mixed grip. I forget exactly but it existed last year.

      • sanitynmotion Says:

I remember there was a Miller on beam – where did that go? Nonexistant?

Nastia had that stupid front layout then she stuck her leg out behind her…ok it was pretty but since it was Nastia I’m like bleck lol.

Does Shawn Johnson have that leap named after her? I didn’t realize she actually had something?

I think Weiber needs a skill. “The Weiber” – I mean, who doesn’t love that? lol.

  5. exgymgurl Says:

Thats the entire COP 2013-2016 and the table of elements.

Isnt there a Chow on bars also???? I also think there is a Phelps skill….. and maybe even a Borden or a Strugg somewhere. The whole 96 team is not included anywhere on this. Next thing you know they will be telling us that 2012 was the first team gold.

But seriously there is a Worley?

    • gymtruthteller Says:

The funnier thing is that Nastia has that skill on beam named after her. WTF for that too

    • gymtruthteller Says:

Phelps had a vault and that was gone a few years ago. Strug had a leap or dance move on floor which is ironic.lol

      • exgymgurl Says:

That is funny that they scraped Nastia off the list…. I wish I could scrape her from my brain….. and Gabby….. I never thought Id say this, but I wish Mary Lou and Carly Dingdong were the only 2 American AA champs…

What a stupid list for USAG to even have if it is that totally inaccurate

      • icemeltsfast Says:

lol! I never thought of it that way but wow, I am not a fan of the gymnastics from any USAG Olympic AA champ.

    • Catherine Says:

Chow has a bars transition, it looks awesome but worth less than a Pak sadly. Actually I think she may have two bars skills. Phelps has a vault, extremely popular and really shoddily performed by all back in the day. Strug has a leap. Worley’s skill is an aerial to 2 feet, or something forwards..maybe an Onodi either. Liukin’s is gone because it is considered two skills.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

I am pretty sure the Phelps vault has been gone for a few years now

      • exgymgurl Says:

Still where are these skills???? Its bizarre like The Karolyis only want skills by Betty Okino and their little pets in the COP….. weird…. this looks like a weird new code….I went through the book of elements and its like wow… try to figure out how to code whore that…..

      • Catherine Says:

Oh good, it was hideous and I don’t ever want to see it as someone’s second vault. Though Paseka’s layout Pod sucks too.

      • icemeltsfast Says:

I don’t get the code sometimes. If Liukin’s skill is gone b/c it was technically just a combo of two old skills then why do you get separate credit for doing an endo full AND for your endo AND for a pirouette? That doesn’t make sense… and endo full, stalder full, healy 1.5 etc are all just combinations of pre-existing skills.

      • exgymgurl Says:

I think we should stir up the nastia fanatics and get an online petition going to get her skills reinstated. Because shes Nastia, and shes awesome and she’s totally not dating her dad despite what Sarah! says….

    • icemeltsfast Says:

Okay there are some major spelling errors– at least in the named skill section. Nadja Comaneci, Oxsana Omelianchik, Mo Huilia, Lilja Pod..?

      • exgymgurl Says:

ITs translated into 4-5 different languages… thats probably where it all gets lost…

      • Catherine Says:

Annoying, but some are just language related I supppose. The worst thing is the Stroescu, a few Romanians have done it (front 2.5 on floor) but Stroescu was not one of them! It should be the Cojocar.

  6. GymMom Says:

Some new facts in Boston bombing tragedy: That Saudi national who was originally thought to be a suspect was deported today after President Obama held an unscheduled meeting with the Saudi Foreign Minister. Hmmmmm.

    • Gymnerd Says:

If you read between the lines, that is one scary article. Sorry to be ignorant, but is the Examiner a credible source?

    • sanitynmotion Says:

      If this is true:

He is from a very powerful Saudi family with many terrorist ties. Abdul al-Harbi is a devout Muslim from Medina.

Welcome to the new America, I guess.

  7. DL Says:

    Did Zonderland retire?

    • JAS4 Says:

I’m not sure but I think he was in school to become a surgeon so maybe he is busy with that and didn’t want to mess up school fr competition this early in the quad or something

  8. mimi Says:

gabby jupp injured her knee and carried off the podium on a stretcher😦 such a shame! hope she’s alright😦

    • byrdisthewyrd Says:

Me too, Mimi! I just read an article about how after the Europeans Jupp was going to go home and add all kinds of upgrades so she could really compete at worlds. This definitely seems to throw a wrench in that plan! I wonder what Tunney’s injuries are and if she’ll be bouncing back soon?

  9. exgymgurl Says:

I think Larissas euro party should be renamed the AfanMusty Show….. just saying… her score would barely get her named to compete outside the US if she were american

  10. exgymgurl Says:

Too bad Asac cant pull a chuso and go compete for Greece… or whatever european country her parents and ancestors emigrated from……

  11. terrigymfan Says:

Exgymgirl posted this link yesterday showing various pictures of possible suspects in the Boston Marathon bombing. http://imgur.com/a/sUrnA

As first I thought it was the lone guy with a beard in the red shirt and blue coat but now I’m thinking it might be two other guys shown, one with the white baseball cap and black backpack and the other with a blue shirt and duffel-type bag hanging to this side. I say this because now they are reporting the FBI suspects two guys, one with a white cap and black backpack and the other with a duffel bag-type bag. The FBI is supposed to be releasing photos later today of their prime suspects. It is going to be interesting to see if it is the same two guys.

    • GymMom Says:

The kid in blue track jacket is a high school & his high school track coach have both been cleared. The FBI press conference is about to start & they will be showing video & stills of their 2 suspects.

By the way, I happened to see Shannon Miller on Marie Osmond’s talk show today. She talked about her life & then she showed Marie some of her work-out program.

      • terrigymfan Says:

Yes the two main suspects in the pics released by the FBI are not in any of the pics that are in that link as far as I can tell.

  12. exgymgurl Says:

and then the russians have a splatfest on beam…. and Larissa is the top qualifier

  13. exgymgurl Says:

Off topic but hilarious…. and sorry watch this…. if you like StarWars at all and know what Harrison Ford has said / reacted about StarWars questions in the past😉 Dont want to talk about West or Boston this morning. So sad for the people of West, Texas not that far from me…

    • Tortuga Says:

I didn’t know you were from Texas exgymgurl. I knew terrigymfan was from Dallas area. I’m north of Dallas. Texas gym bloggers unite, lol. I always know West as the Czech Shop Bakery on the way to Austin and San Antonio. So sad. Won’t dwell just hits close to home.

      • sanitynmotion Says:

Really sad to hear about that fertilizer plant blowing up. It’s like man, can’t we catch a break already! This is awful.

      • exgymgurl Says:

Not that far from any of us…. and just sad….. little kids getting blown off playgrounds by the force of impact…

      • Tortuga Says:

There’s a video circulating of man and his daughter watching the fire from a safe distance when the explosion happened. The daughter couldn’t hear after the explosion while her father was trying to calm her and ask if she was okay. I can’t imagine watching something like that and then the panic to follow. Definitely have a heavy heart for people in West and Boston at this time. But seriously like Sanity said, can the U.S. catch a break please?!

  14. sanitynmotion Says:

Are there any videos online from Euros? What’s going on?

  15. exgymgurl Says:

I havent seen video because the eurosport link is requiring a European IP address and I dont have that, but their twitter indicates AFan fell on bars, and Musty fell twice on beam. Iordache is the top qualifier on the womens side…followed by Bulimar… then the Russians…. and AFan is out due to the 2/ country rule…

    • sanitynmotion Says:

How did Grishina do? Wow, Musty fell twice on beam? That has been her vindictive apparatus for sure.

Did you say Iordache fell too?

      • laurensy Says:

Grishina grabbed the beam and fell on her Jaeger. Vault went okay judging from the score. I think she made it beam finals. I want her to prove herself. She has the potential, but her inconsistency/nerves really needs to be addressed. I’ll try to find video.

      • sainabou nyang Says:

        Musty fell twice in beam.

Grishina fell as well in her double turn on beam.

Somehow paseka gets a 14.1 on bars and is in the bars final.

      • sanitynmotion Says:

Oh wow I have to see a video of that. That’s laughable (Paseka on bars).

Sad about all the falls actually. I really wanted Musty and Grishina to battle it out. I only worry about Musty on beam – seems to be her bad apparatus!

      • Catherine Says:

Iordache did not fall, but she came to a stop and I think overarched completely somewhere else in her bars. Musty and Grishina had two falls each, Afan completely crashed her bars dismount and wobbled all over her beam after blowing her floor out of the park..it’s a 6.4 with new upgrades! Can’t wait to see it in EF.

  16. terrigymfan Says:

Yes the West, Texas explosion is terrible. We have stopped in the Czech Stop Bakery many times. A sad week all the way around.

    • GymMom Says:

The site of the fertilizer plant explosion is a crime scene. First responders told 911 operators…”A bomb went off in here.”

      So sad!

      • Catherine Says:

They have to treat it as one, it is not a decision they made. It essentially is a huge bomb factory, while it could have been arson a bomb attack does not make sense..a large fire would do the work for them. I think it is nothing more than an industrial accident, made all the more likely by the plant being called out on their record before.

      • exgymgurl Says:

One of my best friends husbands is with Waco PD…. and has been on duty at guarding something they are not even talking about…..and now there is an officer down @MIT…..

      • Gymnerd Says:

        Interesting…keep us posted!!!
