Guess who just walked by me? Fierce five on Big Brother

The 2012 Olympic team will be on Big Brother this Wednesday. I just saw the commercial.

Found this

I was walking down the street today and guess who walked by me wearing a white shirt? Aly Rasiman’s dad. Yep he walked right by me and a few minutes later as I waited for my ride home he walked by me again. Hey no mocking of me peeps I never get to see anyone famous by default. Okay maybe not never, I did see Gabe Kapler once (you non baseball fans have no clue who he is, just remember he is hot and the first Sox player I ever saw on the street) so it was exciting:)

Here is a video of Mckayla and Aly getting hurt on tour. It’s like ten little indians, one by one they all disappear. Not a great video but good enough. Watch the far bars.

Very cool. Was he wearing Ralph Lauren? I’m guessing that Aly must be doing fairly well for him to be in Boston as opposed to being in a hospital with Aly somewhere on tour.

Thanks for the alert- cool sighting!

  2. Gymbee Says:

That’s cool! No mocking from me – I would have been excited too 🙂
    Did he look worried?

  3. terrigymfan Says:

I know who Gabe Kapler is GTT! He used to play for the Rangers. They always used to have him on the local sports radio talk show because he was such a good interview.

    • gymtruthteller Says:

and because he was hot right??? 🙂 I am impressed that you know who he

      • terrigymfan Says:

Hah. He is hot but it was radio so I think the main reason they kept having him on was he has a great personality and is really funny.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

But you can’t see how hot he is on the radio.:) He is also very nice. They recently asked an old player of the Sox (not that old he retired this year) which of his ex teammates does he think would make the best manager and Wakefield said, Gabe Kapler. So he must sound like he knows what he is doing. Hey I know a team that could use a

      • terrigymfan Says:

Did they ever play the theme from “Welcome Bac Kotter” when he was interviewed in Boston? They always played that when he came on the radio in Dallas because his name is so similar to Gabe Kaplan’s name.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

        Of course .lol

      • gymtruthteller Says:

OMG I had totally blacked out that he became a Devil Ray. I take it back, he isn’t cute anymore:P)

      • Gymbee Says:

I had to google – and he is indeed hot. 🙂

      • gymtruthteller Says:

Great taste you have there gymbee:)

      • mim Says:

HELLO gabe kapler! maybe i should start watching baseball haha.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

I think he I’ve got plenty of videos. I have a video of his wife and a few other wives singing, ney york, new york in mocking of the yankees during their choke job in 04 and it is pure classic. They only do it for a second but it made my baseball season. Oh sorry, I have to take joy in the little things thee days. 21 more games til my mysery ends:)

      • Case Says:

        He’s also a former Detroit Tiger. : )

    • sanitynmotion Says:

I had to Google too…and yes I agree. Hot. Drool.

  4. GymMom Says:

Aly tweeted thanks to everyone a short time ago. She said she suffered some bruising on her legs. More ominous was her tweeting love to McKayla and telling her to “stay strong.” That doesn’t sound good to me?

    • terrigymfan Says:

I also had to laugh when I saw that picture of hospital food she said was “not bad.” They must really be feeding those girls garbage on the tour for Mckayla to say that. LOL

      • Dee Says:

Could you imagine? It’s probably all fast food/diners. God I’d be constipated for three months straight. Imagine going 3+ years without dessert like some of these athletes say they have and then being put on a tour bus with endless fast food stops. I’d be unrecognizable by the end/have to grease the doorway to get me out of the bus (let alone stick me in a hula hoop Olympic ring prop hoisted 40 feet in the air…)!

  5. GymMom Says:

    And sleeping on a bus?

  6. sanitynmotion Says:

Hopefully McKayla can call it quits on the tour and rehab herself fully so she can get back to the gym and practice that TTY. The tour is a waste of time, especially when they are getting injured. I hope they all back out and Nastia is the only one left standing with a lame baton in her hand. Gag.

    • Case Says:

I just heard on one of the boards that she tore an ACL (I have no clue if the source knows what she is talking about) but if so, it’ll be interesting to see if she rehabs or calls it quits and goes Hollywood.

Poor thing…that’s a tough injury. At least she threw the best Amanar ever at the Olympics last month.

I wonder if she will stay on tour and do chalk talks and stuff or head home now.

      • GymMom Says:

Shawn Johnson tore her ACL on a skiing trip. She ended up having a couple of surgeries but her competitive gymnastics career was basically ended as a result. So sad if that’s what happened to McKayla?

      • sanitynmotion Says:

How sad if she tore her ACL on a stupid bars set during a TOUR…she got through a slew of amanar vaults but not the Kellogg’s tour without severely hurting herself.

Hey, did someone say her father was a lawyer? Yeah, I’m sure he’s totally on that. If she had a recurring leg injury why the heck would they be allowing her to do those bar releases? They weren’t even allowing her to run through bars/beam/floor at the OLYMPICS because of her TOE INJURY for goodness’ sake! All of a sudden she “can” do a bars routine in strobe lights after taking a long break from training for the sake of paying audience members? Wow, USAG. Way to go.

If this rumor is true I don’t see an easy comeback for McKayla. That and I heard the vault code will no longer allow for her to do her second vault if she chooses the amanar/TTY as her first. I guess she’ll need to learn a different entry/vault if she wants to go for a world title on it again. Something on FB was said about no longer allowing a half yurchenko entry in addition to the full yurchenko entry…I could be wrong, but if this “is” true and she tore her ACL, I think she might be done. She’s on the phone with her agent booking Hollywood appearances and asking about the next season of DWTS or some shizz like that.

        I really hope not…

    • Gymnerd Says:

Aren’t the girls contracted or something? Didn’t they have to agree/sign to go before Trials? I can’t imagine they’d be “allowed” to just walk away…not to mention, one or two of them are unable to walk by now anyway….

      • sanitynmotion Says:

Maybe it’s like a football contract and they can “walk away” if they literally can’t walk. I can’t imagine the tour would have use for them if they are paraded around in a wheelchair and/or foot brace and/or leg cast.

I can just see it now…McKayla and Aly doing wheelchair races while Nastia twirls a ribbon and split leaps in the center ring…then she’ll raise the checkered flag for whoever the winner is…

Maybe there will be a Vegas bet on who will win each show’s “wheelchair race event.”

Yeah this whole thing is sick but I am pretty disgusted right now at it all. I’m just glad Kyla (not Kayla, you idiot twat MM) isn’t hurt because I want her to win worlds 2013.

And if Gabby is going back to train with Chow, good. She should. I think she has more potential and hopefully he can train her on how to be a little more humble.

  7. sanitynmotion Says:

Oh and P.S. if Aly’s dad walked by me I’d be totally tempted to run after him and ask how she’s doing. I might even be really lame and ask for an autograph, LOL.

    • Gymbee Says:

Me too. I would’ve totally asked for a photo with him < lame 🙂

    • gymtruthteller Says:

I thought about saying something to him but I figured I could not blog about it if I did and I have a hard time keeping my mouth

I had just found out she was injured too.

  8. Alex Says:

I just watched the bar routines, and WOW. I am so glad that Aly was able to walk away from the fall.. that was SCARY. You’re right- these routines do look much more difficult than in years past. I wonder why that is?

  9. Catherine Says:

MaryMargaret is totally reading this blog, after someone mentioned in the last one that she probably is annoyed it wasn’t Kyla that was injured.
‘Sad to hear of any athlete being hurt and hope for the best for Mckayla and Aly. Thankful that Kayla is safe and looking forward to seeing her compete at Worlds. Not thrilled about the outfits.’
I love that she singles her out to show how much she eh is rooting for her. Still getting the name wrong. Looks like she hopes Gabby and Jordyn get injured.

    • gymtruthteller Says:

She spelled the name wrong on purpose. It reminds me of Nastia and her spelling or He

    • Dee Says:

LOL this Mary Margaret is a total legend. I’m sure she creeps on here. Crazy bat!

  10. JAS4 Says:

With what they charge to see the tour you would think they could afford enough mats

    • gymtruthteller Says:

lol Nastia stole them all. We know what a glory hog she is:)

      • Case Says:

Or Marta said “if you biotches aren’t going to be around the ranch so I can throw telephones at your head, I’m taking all your f’ing mats!”

      • JAS4 Says:

Or USAG is using all the money to pay her to cooreograph and couldn’t affor real mats lol

      • mim Says:

and those cirque de soleil style rope/ribbon for her to do her falling angel routine.

  11. sainabou nyang Says:

I can only imagine what these girls will look like after this tour. I just pray that no one else gets injured and that by November half the national team is not on crutches.

  12. GymMom Says:

Why would they want to be associated with Big Brother? I wouldn’t want my daughter anywhere near there, would you?

    • Dee Says:

My husband and I watch it religiously. He is going to hate this, lol. I truthfully can’t imagine what they are going to do on the show.

      • GymMom Says:

No offense intended for those who watch Big Brother. I just don’t think minor kids should be a part of that show.

    • gymnastwannabe Says:

@GymMom – thinkin’ the same thing. I was disappointed by Jordyn’s photo of them at the beach. I was hoping she wouldn’t go down that road.

      • Gymbee Says:

I thought the beach photo was just jordyn and some other tour members? What’s wrong with that?

  13. nero Says:

So Gabby is only doing part of the tour to go back to train with Chow. She does seem like the one, apart from Kyla, of the five with the most potential to come back for 2016. I do wonder how long it will last since she’s ‘in’ with Oprah and Alicia Keys and whatnot.

She could probably win World’s next year easily. But Shade has pimped Shawn out so hard and squeezed out every last drop of fame from a girl who DIDN’T win AA I can only imagine the things she has concocted in her brain for Gabby. Doesn’t she have 2 books coming out? I can only imagine what those will consist of, considering just the first chapter of Shawn’s book was filled with lies.

    • sanitynmotion Says:

What was in the first chapter that was lies? Just curious. 🙂

    • Dee Says:

Are you serious?!?! I was so hoping gabby was done. We have all seen enough of that mess. Honest to god I might stop following elite if she wins worlds.

      • sainabou nyang Says:

I don’t think if she returns that Marta will send her to worlds for AA unless she decides to pit her against Katelyn.

      • Gymnerd Says:

        I agree, Dee.

    • nero Says:

Sanity, the first chapter is on youtube with her reading it just type in Winning Balance. Ugh. From what I can remember she said she stuck everything in her beam routine and couldn’t understand her score. Except she wobbled on her full and always lands her full-in with her chest down and still got over a 16

She also said something like she was 8th or 9th going into floor. Um…..she was in 3rd.

Oh and I’ll never forget her saying how she calculated the score she needed to win on floor. Like she really added up her and Nastia’s scores then saw Nastia’s floor score 3 seconds before she went and knew she couldn’t win. Puh-lease.

I’m sure there’s more but that’s what I can remember

  14. Case Says:

I’m really surprised Gabby is leaving the tour early to train with Chow. That’s not a decision I thought she would make given that she’s a “star” of the show and making big bucks from it. But I guess with two book deals now the money is inconsequential. Or maybe shes tired of it already.

I wonder who will be left on the tour at stop 40? Probably Nastia, Rhonda Faehn and Shayla Worley.

    • mim Says:

it’s a surprisingly smart move on gabby’s part. mckayla was also not doing the full tour. i’ll be so devastated for her if she can’t train because of this stupid tour.

    • sainabou nyang Says:

It doesnt surprise me that most of these girls only committed to a few shows. I know I wouldn’t want to do this tour for three months.

Gabby may be training now but lets see what happens. We might see her at either us classics or nationals. Then I predict she’ll take a break.

      • GymMom Says:

Couple of things….here’s a link to Big Brother transcript of “live feed” describing how the “final five” in the house were blindfoldrf amd brought to one of the Kellogg’s performances, where they met the “Fierce Five.” They brought back giant boxes of cereal autographed by the girls. Apparently there has been some “product placement”(Fruit Loops) related to Kelloggs on BB previously?? The whole thing sounds tacky and beneath world class elite athletes. The next Kelloggs show is on Thursday. Aly tweeted something about attending a fashion show in NYC this morning. Gabby’s roommate Ali tweeted that she missed Gabby so she is gone somewhere as well. Someone asked if any of the girls parents are on the tour? I read that Gabby’s mother is lurking around…at the VMA’s and Stand Up for Cancer, so I’m sure she(Gabby’s mother) is with the group on tour, waiting for her next “photo op.”

        Here’s the BB link.

      • sanitynmotion Says:

Gabby might pull a Carly Patterson, go back to training, and get an “injury” (not like Carly’s was fake, but I think she used it to get out of the sport – go for the singing career- since she could have healed up and gone back) and then leave for good. I hope not though, only because I wouldn’t mind seeing more of her gymnastics. I like her gymnastics, but not her. I’m just being honest. OK and it would be cool to see a DIFFERENT FLOOR ROUTINE. Because even though I liked her gymnastics I HATED that floor routine. I’m just not feeling the juniors/new seniors yet with the exception of the GAGE girls and maybe Ohashi on beam.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

You must really hate me to want her

      • sanitynmotion Says:

No. I just think it makes for great entertainment and topic of conversation. If everyone were nice charming Aly’s, how boring would the sport of gymnastics be? 😉

      • gymtruthteller Says:

Cocky Gabby and the over scoring she gets makes me ill. I need her to go away. We will have enough drama with kaitlyn Ohashi from WOGA falling and getting ridiculous gift scores. That will entertain me for the next 4 years:P

      • sanitynmotion Says:

I feel like Ohashi is on the brink of just being this quad’s Rebecca Bross. Coming in with “it girl” status only to eventually give way to multiple injuries and then being a “specialist.” I like her gymnastics at least (couldn’t stand Bross’) but overall she has no “sparkle.” It’s like she’s dead inside. I’m starting to feel that way about all WOGA gymnasts.

I feel like Gabby still has a lesson to be learned and that’s why I want to see her come back. She needs a lesson on humility and it would be fun if the judges decided to overscore someone else at her expense. If that person happens to be Ohashi cool – they can’t proclaim racism because Ohashi is Asian, right?

      • mim Says:

i dont mind kaitlyn and i really like her beam especially. i just hope the poor girl doesn’t get broken!

      • gymtruthteller Says:

I like Kaitlyn the child but the gymnast gets overscored especially on floor and vault. NO MORE WOGA

    • Aerial Says:

re: Gabby not doing full tour.

Okay, this tour I’m going to is even more bogus than I knew I was originally risking. The public is told before the games the world and olympic medalists will be touring, and then a list of others are given – it’s implied the latter will do certain stops only. In the past, the actual Olympic team does the entire tour – that’s what the public is paying for. Injuries are unexpected (well, depending on lack of mats/landing on concrete, who knows) but understandable if injured gymnasts are absent. Now 2 of the healthy fab five, including the Olympic AA winner, will pick and choose their stops. Come on – those are the headliners!

A little lax on the contracts here if you ask me, and what/who may actually be present at a post-Olympic tour – potentially no advertised Olympians, one or two? I get that they may want to train, etc., in which case a 40-city tour promoting the team is not appropriate. I don’t even really care if there’s tours or not – admittedly never make a point of watching gymnastics or skating exhibitions on TV, but was looking forward to the chance to see the world and olympic team of this year in any format and when it’s within 4 hours of me across the border. It’s getting a little bogus with the wishywashyness if you ask me. And I don’t even care for Gabby but I’m sure the general public around me expects to see her if they paid for these tickets.

  15. Case Says:

Awww…this is all kinds of cute from the VMAs.

    • Catherine Says:

Lol everyone loves Jordyn’s biceps. Ah that’s a nice video. I’d say they would be pretty happy to give her a walk on part when she’s done with the tour, and that would make her year..

  16. sainabou nyang Says:

2013-2016 code of points is now available for download. That shit is 204 pages.

    • Catherine Says:

Oooo. Nah I might just skip through the IG thread on it, but I thought it wasn’t going to be confirmed confirmed until October? The draft has been around for ages. I did hear that they have left leaps out of passes as they are now…damn.

      • sainabou nyang Says:

I thought so too. I believe what I have is the new draft or it just might be the final version. I’m only interested in UB and FX.

      • sainabou nyang Says:

Sorry about that it is the draft but the full version.
Here is the link if anyone is interested.

      • Catherine Says:

Aha, they ARE leaving leaps out of passes as they are. Imagine that they actually saw how overused it was and changed the jump to a B or higher in the draft code to reduce the number…and then in the real code, they bring it back to A. Wow.

      • sanitynmotion Says:

I thought the leaps out of passes was distracting and a cover-up for landings in general. I never understood why they’d actually add points for the leaps. I actually thought at first the gymnasts/coaches were putting them in there to deal with the rule of having to land each pass without a layout. If they put the layout back in, I doubt anyone would be adding leaps. I don’t remember leaps ever being used when the layout landing was allowed.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

Keeping those cheap leaps pisses me off. It’s like the pirouette bonus on bars. A waste

      • sanitynmotion Says:

Yeah I don’t understand it either. I hated them. I thought the new code would bring back the layout step so I wouldn’t have to see those cheap leaps after each tumbling pass (that’s for you, Lauren Mitchell).

  17. david0688 Says:

So why are they on Big Brother? Do people even watch Big Brother? I’d like to one of them on Psych or something, I’d think that would be better.

  18. sanitynmotion Says:

USAG released a statement on Facebook. Fractured tibia for McKayla. Thank God it’s not her ACL.

    Here’s the statement:

On Sept. 9, 2012 Olympic gold-medalist McKayla Maroney was injured on her uneven bars dismount at the Ontario, Calif., performance of the Kellogg’s Tour of Gymnastics Champions. Maroney’s MRI showed a fractured tibia on her left leg, and she is currently in a brace to keep the leg stabilized. Maroney and her family are consulting with physicians and specialists to determine the proper course of treatment. Maroney’s return to the Kellogg’s Tour in some capacity will be determined at the appropriate time during her recovery.

…I hope they are consulting with a good LAWYER too…

    • Case Says:

Yeah that is much better news for her than an ACL would be.

      • Gymbee Says:

Maybe it’s even a blessing in disguise. Not gain weight and get out of shape and risk more injury from the strobe lights at the travesty tour (love that name!), she can rehab and get back to the gym.

    • GymMom Says:

Healing time for a tibula fracture is 12 weeks to 4 months. And even then she might only be able up put 50% of her weight on it. Honestly, I would say she’s done with the tour. Of course Kelloggs will spin it, promising her return in order to sell more tickets. It is good to hear it wasn’t her ACL though.

  19. Exgymgurl Says:

Mckayla is lucky… Her dads a lawyer….. And a fractured tibia does not end a gymnastics career

  20. Exgymgurl Says:

Question when did gabby say she was leaving the tour to train more?

    • gymtruthteller Says:

In an article. She said she was only doing half the tour and going home to Iowa because she misses how, rolling eyes.

If she signed up for the whole tout she is doing the whole tout. She never came out and said she only signed for half the tour, just that she was doing only half the tour. She is arrogant enough to think she can quit when she wants so who knows really. We will find out.

      • JAS4 Says:

Are Jordyn and Aly doing the full tour?

      • Case Says:

I can’t find anything that says otherwise so I assume Jordyn and Aly are in it for the long haul. Remember right after the Olympics the only one who said she wasn’t doing the whole tour was Kyla. I assumed it was because she wanted to continue training and she didn’t turn pro so there was no financial gain for her.

It’s only now after the fact that all these girls are bugging out part way. I’m sure people bought tickets thinking they’d see 4 of the 5.

      • terrigymfan Says:

I am so glad I didn’t buy tickets yet. By the time it gets here to Dallas on October 6 there won’t be a single member of the Fierce Five still in it.

      • Case Says:

Lol Terri. The Michigan stop isn’t until Nov 3rd. Hopefully Jordyn will still be in one piece for the hometown crowd.

  21. GymMom Says:

Look at Gabby’s mother(using the term loosely) inserting herself into the photo with Alicia Keyes. My daughter would be mortified if I tried anything like that. Her mother makes me ill.

Me & gabbydoug2012 with the beautiful Alicia Keys

Does anyone know who this kid is? I’m not that familiar with the players in mens Gymnastics but apparently this kid is a rising Junior who is gunning for Rio. Should Orozco or leyva be scared? Lol
