Kyla, Mckayla and Aly: Updated 9-3

Aly at the Patriots game and I am calling BS on the Tom Brady is her favorite Patriot. That was totally the only guy she could name.lol

Mckayla baseball , I am not impressed with these either.

Kyla to be honored again. Better late than never:)

Kyla was named California High School athlete of the year ( before the Olympics)

A video of Kyla being interviewed before throwing out her first pitch at the evil Angels game. Damn straight I am bitter. Someone linked this is the comments section but I forget who so thanks.

Pictures

: one Being Interviewed
: Two standing with pure Angel evil (Bad Torri Hunter BAAAAD)

Here is some video of her celebration at her gym. Her coaches are so cute.

Mckayla on Extra. Nothing like celebrating a girl for being a spoiled brat. Yes I know I have said that already.

Excalibur fights back.

A better video of Aly throwing out the first pitch to Cody “comeback to us next year” Ross. (Thanks Biyatch)

Aly throw out the first pitch at Fenway. Looks like she threw it to Dustin Pedroia Cody Ross, yep great Sox fan I am.lol but it’s hard to tell by this angle. It was funny listening to the kid screaming and telling the Sox players it was his Birthday when someone says, Do you have proof of that. The most entertaining part of the video for me and

FINALLY, Some video of Kyla from her homecoming party.

More Aly at American girl doll in NY.

Mckayla visits sets of TV shows,

Pretty little Liars.

Okay. For such a spoiled brat she could do something a little more exciting with her hair. Especially if she has a “stylist.”

Not surprised her idol is Miley Cyrus. Gag. Maybe that’s why she’s into posting racy photos of herself all over the Internet.

She kind of makes DWTS sound like it’s below her LOL – “if you are asked, will you do it?” – “Maybe.” That says it all. But I don’t blame her; who wants to just follow Shawn’s footsteps?

The Kyla link didn’t work for me but maybe it’s cuz I use Google chrome.

    • elitefan Says:

What happened to her fibula?? No one mentioned that injury before…

      • newbie Says:

I want to know why McKayla left GymMax! There has to be some story behind it?? It’s weird with all the media and pictures of her and Kyla training in the same gym that the gym-switch was never brought up ala Gabby.

      • Catherine Says:

Not neccessarily. A lot of people do move gyms around that age. The deal with Gabby moving and that whole story is all of the financial fees and all the badmouthing etc. Most gym moves would be very amicable. McKayla’s family also were having issues with driving her something like 4 hours each way to her gym, not sure which gym and if it was moving house that made it better..but if that was the drive to gym-max, it would make sense too. McKayla DID leave gym-max with an amanar anyway.

      • sanitynmotion Says:

McKayla used to live in Laguna Niguel (close to Gym Max) so she didn’t really have a drive until she moved to AOGC, which is in LA, and anyone in So. Cal knows the drive from south Orange County to LA is a loooong one given traffic. But yeah, even given her “home” base being Laguna Niguel, I knew that girl came from a rich family. That area is super nice, by the ocean…anyone hear of the MTV show Laguna Beach? Yeah, she’s likely in the caliber of those rich girls.

Anyways, that being said, her family moved to Long Beach (another beach community, but not as high priced so I’m guessing they must live in a REALLY nice home there) which is closer to LA/her AOGC gym.

I’m not sure why she changed gyms exactly but it could have been that she needed to train more difficult skills. Kyla’s coaches are known for training for perfect execution over much difficulty – and it’s obvious with Kyla. Yes they train the amanar vault but next quad that won’t matter as much.

      • Surfergirl Says:

Looking up old interviews and blogs it seems as if it had something to do with McKayla wanting to be an AAer and her old gym training her to be a specialist. Which in the end she ended up being a one trick pony anyway.

      • JAS4 Says:

I would love to see McKayla be more of an AAer but I think she is on the fame train now if she comes back it will probably be just to get her own vault

  2. tulip Says:

Kyla is just adorable and seems genuinely happy and humble. I hope we see lots more of her in the years to come!

  3. sainabou nyang Says:

It would be great if kyla has an another awesome 4 years ends up on the rio team and finally gets her own individual medal all without going pro. Nothing against an gymnast going pro but Ive always had mixed feelings about it.

  4. Kylie Says:

I don’t blame her with the maybe to DWTS… what season is it up to now? So Last week/month/year/century!!!!

    • Dee Says:

I know, lol, that and American Idol!

    • nero Says:

Oh God DWTS. I saw the funniest video, they were interviewing Shawn and Derek and she was being her usual giggly annoying fake self and then the interviewer asked her about the Fierce Five and her face DROPPED, it gave me life. Too bad she’s partnered with the golden boy and will go far, he seemed so smarmy in the video

Found it! It’s at about the 2:30 mark. I’m debating whether to watch, is anyone likeable going to be on this season?

      • gymtruthteller Says:

You are being small minded Nero. Shawn loves Gabby she is her BFF forever. They trained a whole 6 months together and the fierce five love Shawn. So does Nastia and they will all be watching dancing with the stars every Tuesday night together and voting and texting a million times to make sure Shawn wins because that is the way they role (as in role playing like they are friends not like roll-ing down the street) I bet Gabby will come support Shawn at a taping too (you know during tour breaks)

        DUH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:)

      • sainabou nyang Says:

DWTS had never done it for me. Its always been overhyped and this Derrick hough guy looks like a 40 year old gigalo.

I’m still in mourning that trublood is done for the season and have to wait a whole year to watch it.

And shawns reaction to the question to about the fab five, oh man I love it. Her voice sounded so hollow and she looked like someone took the wind out of her sail.

God please bring on the new quad. Im tired of these people already.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

Me too. I am ready for the new gymnasts already too.

      • sanitynmotion Says:

I thought her talking about the judging of Gabby’s routines (from the perspective of “before” the Olympics) was interesting…how she was saying “I hope the judges give credit where it’s due…” something like that. I wonder if she was thinking maybe the judges would do to Gabby what was done to her (find random deductions they had never found before for the same routine)…also, funny how her voice kind of trailed off on that whole issue. I’m sure there’s negativity there but no, Shawn will never say anything negative!

Gabby should honestly take some lessons from her in that arena. There’s a reason Shawn is still a “darling” despite not being in action for quite awhile. Fake and all, but still the “darling.” Sigh.

  5. Dee Says:

Wow, I just watched the excalibur video. Gabby should be embarrassed. She needs to issue an apology and pay off what is owed to them (or at least her mother needs to) and then be more careful about what is said. Her story changed so dramatically from when we first heard she left there for better coaching…I watched the Oprah thing this morning and was floored.

Let’s face it…there are few things on the earth bitchier than a teenage gym team. But most gyms do what they can to reduce isolation and make everyone comfortable. I should know, I’m in a gym working or training everyday. Ive seen things like this happen and coaches usually are aware and do what they can to stop it. Ive seen girls not allowed to compete at meets before because they were nasty to teammates and couldn’t compete till they apologized. I find it hard to believe that if the owner spent as much time with her as she says, that she was not aware of the “issue” If there was one…?

    Better Aly-Fenway video: http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=24275997&c_id=mlb

If McKayla’s parents are worried about creeper stalkers they might try not letting their 16 year old to wear boob cutout dresses.

    • gymtruthteller Says:

How the hell did you find a MLB video of that when I couldn’t???????????????? Thanks:)

    • Exgymgurl Says:

I saw that pic on Instagram… And no all teen girls are not wearing that dress

    • terrigymfan Says:

That Mckayla sure is proud of her breasts. She seems to be showing the entire world as much as she can of them lately. I’m probably just a fuddy duddy but I think a little more modesty is in order for a 16 year old girl.

      • sainabou nyang Says:

Terri don’t feel bad I’m 27 and I think she needs to cover up. Did you see the comments below the picture? One guy says “nice ones”. How the hell are you worrying about perverts and stalkers and your continues to show her boobs. Was she like this before this before the Olympics?

      • terrigymfan Says:

Sainabou, I saw several pictures Mckayla posted prior to the Olympics where she was starting to show cleavage, but it seems like she has been ridiculous about it since the Olympics.

Also, I thought is was very interesting that she chose an all-white leotard for vault finals. No cleavage of course but for some reason all-white, without any other color at all, sure seems to highlight the “curves” in a girl’s figure. My teenage son was watching with me and I thought I was going to have to cover his eyes the way he was staring at her. Maybe I am wrong but I’m betting she didn’t choose all-white just because it’s her favorite color.

I’ve said before I like Mckayla. I think she has a great, fun-loving personality and really is a sweet, nice girl at heart. She does like attention though and does everything she can to get it. Hopefully this is just a phase she is going through and she will start dressing more appropriately as she gets older.

      • Katie Says:

Disagree on the white leo. I think it looks so polished and elegant. I know GTT hates DM, but I will never forget Moceanu’s 98 Goodwill Games where she just looked so elegant and shredded in her white leo; not muscular or bulky, but lean mean and she had the perfect gymnast body during that competition. She is a famewhore but it really is a shame how she was never able to compete at Worlds or at the Olympics when she was peaked.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

Moceanu was a better gymnast in 98 than any time in her career but she won one competition. The Moceanu in 96 was overscored and overrated

      • Katie Says:

GTT I completely agree. She was the media darling of 96. Shannon’s routines were much more difficult and polished. However, when she peaked in 98, she could have held her own with any of the 2000 medalists.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

That isn’t how it works though. She never looked that good ever again or before. You kind of need a little more proof. I also think she was overscored at that competition big time.

      • Katie Says:

Do you really think she was over scored at that meet? I thought she looked amazing, body-wise and gymnastics-wise. She was so cleand and looked so beautiful. Her floor routine to riverdance (which at the time was a very new and fresh musical) KILLED that dumb cutsey Devil routine. All that being said,I think Atler could beat her any day of the week on difficulty. Double layout punch front stag to the worst cheap Mexican restaurant music ever. Atler, to me, will alwaysbe the greatest tragedy of USA gymnastics. All she needed was one single skill to be changed on one single event and she would have owned 1999 and 2000. I have no idea why I’m rambling on and on about US gymnasts who never measured up to the amount of time we spend analyzing their routines.

      • Katie Says:

@gtt- I know that’s not how it works. I’m not pretending to be like “oh put Moceanu’s goodwill games AA in place of the 2000 AA and she’d be on top” I do feel that her gymnastics when from pretty good to beautiful at the GG. If she could have replicated those routines, she would have been a force. It didn’t happen. Just like if Jordyn could perform like in 2011. Just like if Musty could have performed like in 2010.

    • sanitynmotion Says:

She’s proud of her boobs and everything else. I dunno, whenever I see someone take that many close-ups and face shots of themselves and post it online, I always think “wow, they are desperate for attention aren’t they.”

That type of dress should be worn by 20+ year olds, not 16 year-olds…and no wonder she’s a fan of Miley Cyrus (another attention-seeker who wears provocative clothing). So sad because you have the rest of your lives to “grow up;” it doesn’t need to happen before you’re 17!

      • terrigymfan Says:

Sandy, my son, like most teenagers nowadays, has what seems like every girl and guy in his high school in his circle of facebook friends. I’ve noticed that a lot of the girls in his facebook circle who are “lookers” are always posting their picture on facebook (or I guess it’s more Instagram now) every chance they get, and in many cases they are in outfits showing a lot of cleavage or otherwise showing too much “skin.” You know, it’s the “look at me, I’m gorgeous and am going to flaunt it” deal. Of course, it has always been that way. When I was in high school, there were always the cheerleader types who dated the quarterback and who were great looking and let everybody know it, both in the way they acted and the way they dressed. Only we didn’t have social media back then.

So I guess it is not surprising what Mckayla is doing, but she should realize that her pictures are not being seen by just a few hundred people but instead by millions. She needs to realize that sure, she is getting a lot of attention, but it’s not all from a bunch of choir boys.

      • sanitynmotion Says:

Yes I’ve noticed now too that teens are really into these tight shorts that are VERY short. Like almost butt-cheek coming out short.

When I was in high school these tops that had one string connecting the backs started to be popular. Literally they’d be open in the back except for a couple strings, so no bra. My school had to start “out-lawing” them, like if you were seen on campus with one on you either had to put a sweatshirt on over it or you were sent home. Of course, girls with good bodies would always try and get away with it; they’d bring the sweat shirt for class but then during the breaks and “lunch” they’d have the shirt off unless a teacher was walking by. I guess nowadays why bother with the shirts when you can go home, take sexy pics of yourself, and post them online.

Sigh. When I have my “one” kid he/she will not have a smart phone until they are 18 – or if they are getting a 4.0 GPA muahahaha. And all Internet will be restricted. No social media sites until like age 18 as well. It’s just awful and distracting anyways. I’m so glad I didn’t have it in high school.

      • mim Says:

it’s the same here thanks to facebook/twitter/instagram. it’s the newest and most public way teenager girls try to silence their insecurities.. take photos of themselves in tiny clothes and then wait for everyone to tell them how pretty/skinny/hot they are (and they all do, “babez, you’re sooooooo hawt”) ugh. mckayla’s parents should really have a little chat about the importance of maintaining privacy. and a bit of mystery perhaps.

the denim booty shorts trend needs to die. every girl aged 13-20 wears them in australia and then amount of cheekage and crack i’ve seen outside of a music festival is unbelievable. im no prude, but please, i dont want to see butt cheek when im out buying my groceries.

      • terrigymfan Says:

It’s not just showing so much cleavage, but also Mckayla wearing the three-sizes too small top that looks like it was painted on her skin it order to remind everybody she has a great body. I don’t recall seeing Jordyn and Aly wearing those type of tops — they always seem to have on nice shirts or a blouse that is appropriately loose fitting. I’m not a prude either but just think there is a time and place for everything. I expect to see a lot of “skin” when these girls are at the beach or by a pool, but I’m like you mim in that I really don’t like seeing it at the grocery store.

Kyla’s throwing the first pitch at the Angels game tonight.

    • gymtruthteller Says:

OMG they are playing the Red Sox. I first said cool than I was like wait a minute, …………… (back to the beginning)

    • nero Says:

Gabby threw for the Mets right? I wonder why, was it just because she was in NY? You think Shade could have swung for the Yankees

    • Biyatch Says:

Oh and Jo and Aly are going to be on Live with Kelly next Tuesday. Doesn’t that tape it NY? These girls are jet setting nonstop.

      • sainabou nyang Says:

You know what’s so funny. Someone said thay after these tours they gymnast come out looking like they put on weight because they don’t have to train as hard.
Also if the fab five are getting 100k supposedly, how much do you think someone like Chelsie is making for this tour?

      • gymtruthteller Says:

I don’t know? what is the going rate for selling out? Chellsie, Alicia, Who’s next?

      • nero Says:

I thought I read the BASE is $100k and depending on Olympic success it goes up to $500k. So all of the five probably get the 500, Danell probably gets a little less and then everyone else get 100.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

        I wonder why those two?

      • Biyatch Says:

i think 100k was the base salary that could go up depending on how they did. plus don’t forget that they are only paying out 4 of the 5 gold medalists since kyla is retaining her ncaa eligibility (she does get to accept the usoc prize however). my guess is its probably significantly more than that with the gold medals. gabby, aly and possibly mckayla (because of her sass) have the most leverage as I’m sure they have other lucrative offers available to them now, that might not be there in 3 months, that they could rake in as opposed to the tour.

the guys team will also most likely make significantly less, even had they had medaled in TF they are clearly the side show to the girls main attraction.

my guess is of the three 08ers (nastia, alicia, and chelsie)on the tour, chelsie is probably making the least as she has the least leverage/visibility/marketability.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

Chellsie was paid hush money. I bet she makes more than you think.

      • Kazic Says:

I’m not mad at Chellsie and her hush money. I’d make them pay me extra lol.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

It’s her life but I am mad. I feel like I wasted my time on helping that petition for someone who didn’t really care. Doesn’t mean I don’t understand why she did it. Just a little disappointed that she did.

      • sainabou nyang Says:

GTT you think Chelsie is staying at the same hotel as the same hotel? Or maybe she’s staying down the road at the motel 6?

      • sainabou nyang Says:

I wouldn’t mind seeing Jake or sam shirtless doing some tumbling.

      • Case Says:

Why is Bross on the tour? Did someone feel sorry for her? I hope she puts her $100k towards some basic schooling so she can learn to spell at a level higher than 2nd grade.

I was contemplating attending the tour but the closest show only has crap seats left. I’ll pass this time.

      • Kazic Says:

GTT I was a little disappointed with her, till I thought about it. I think she would have stood her ground more if not for the fact that her dad has a gym. Right or wrong, if she and her father ever want to be able to churn out successful elite level gymnasts, they have to play ball with Karoyli.

        Case, not a Bross fan?

      • terrigymfan Says:

Sainabou’s comment about these girls maybe putting on weight is something I’ve wondered about. Up to and through the Olympics they were training hard and also eating a healthy, low fat diet because they were in a controlled environment. Since that time, I bet, they have been training very little (maybe Kyla is the exception), have been travelling a lot, and have been wined and dined to no end. I travel a fair amount in my job and know how tempting it can be to overeat (or at least not eat the right things) when somebody else is picking up the tab and when food, most of it fattening as hell, is being shoved at you left and right. I really had to teach myself discipline to avoid that trap. This is probably the first time most of these girls have been in this environment for any length of time. I don’t see how they could avoid putting on some weight.

In fact I remember seeing some video of Nastia Liukin doing some sort of exhibition just a few months after the 2008 Olympics. She seemed to look a little flabby even though she has a slim frame for a gymnast. Obviously she wasn’t anywhere near what would be considered flabby by “normal people” standards, but still it was noticeable I thought.

      • sanitynmotion Says:

Yeah it’s amazing how your body can fall apart on you so fast, meaning – you can train/train/train 24/7 and eat very light/healthy food…then give yourself one week of a “freebie” and BAM noticeable difference. Yet to get BACK to the old body after said week of “freebie” it almost takes months. It’s crazy.

I remember seeing a picture of ASac not long after her Olympics and thought “whoa.” She was not fat by anyone’s standards but we are used to seeing these girls as nothing but muscle and bone. Shawn and Nastia both looked it too and even though Sam Peszec is at UCLA she’s noticeably thicker from her elite days.

I can’t think that these girls won’t have the same thing happen to them. Kyla not so much since she’s back at it but definitely Aly and Jo – who have more medium builds. Gabby and McKayla have really narrow builds – kind of like Nastia in a way – so should be interesting if they “soften up” as fast as the others. I wonder how they feel about it (I know I’ve said this before) if it’s a “welcome” thing (like, yay I look more normal!) or if it’s a freak-out thing (like “holy crap, I never knew I could get side handles!”). When I went to college and learned I had to cut back (no longer was I training 6-7 hours a day for swimming), my reaction was more of the freak-out variety (CRAP, I can’t eat the cookies in this cafeteria because these side handle things are showing up, and I can’t afford new pants!)

      • sainabou nyang Says:

Terri I can see some of these girls putting on weight. On wogas twitter there’s a pic if Rebecca looking like she gained a little weight.

Because of gabbys tiny frame her gaining a little weight wont be so bad. Frankly when I saw gabby on letterman i couldn’t believe how skinny she was. I kept saying she needs to add about 10 lbs to her frame. i can’t wait to see how these girls look in a year.

      • terrigymfan Says:

Sandy, I’m guessing putting on weight is almost always a “freak-out” thing for these girls and not “I’m glad I’m starting to look like a normal person” thing. I trained like crazy as a runner and swimmer in high school and was as lean and slim as can be but decided to concentrate on my studies my first semester of college. With far less exercise and access to all that cafeteria food for the first time, I amost immediately put on the infamous “freshman fifteen.” Yes I suddenly had a little bit in the way of boobs and hips for the first time, but I was none too happy with the padding that suddenly appeared on my waste and thighs. I decided enough is enough and joined club squads in both sports my second semester. It took months though to take off what I seemed to put on in just weeks. You are so right about that.

      • Aerial Says:

I’m happy Bross is going. I hope she gets a warm welcome from her audiences. Considering this is one of her only opportunities to make any substantial money after going pro a couple years ago, I’m glad she’s included and that USAG is willing to pay her – I don’t think highly of them obviously and when I saw her name on the roster, I was really happy for her – mostly on a personal level. She can only benefit from going on such a social and almost rock-star experience tour with tons of performance opportunity. I’m still wondering if she’s thrown the towel in or not. And I fully expect to see the girls looking chubby for them – but small compared to the rest of society! I’m surprised they aren’t looking heavier based on their publicity schedule and probable reliance on restaurant meals since the Olympics – save for Kyla.

      • hurms22 Says:

I heard the salary for the tour was $100,000 – $500,000 based on Olympic results. So like the base salary for any pro on tour would be a hundred thou where as the fab five would make probably $500,000

  8. Kel Says:

Derek is soooo skeezy. EW! There is something very predator like about him. Oh, how I miss the Shawn Johnson from 2008. Sad to see her sell out like she has. I really don’t see her ever going to college at this point. She is on the fame wagon.

On another note…Jordyn posted a pic of her and her little sis and she wasn’t wearing her boot. I found myself a little annoyed. Are you injured or not? If you are, shouldn’t you be wearing the boot at all times? Seems like she puts it on and takes it off when she wants to and I don’t see how she is going to be able to participate in the tour (at least not in the first few weeks).

McKayla is a total sex pot…at least that’s how she portrays herself. If she wants the pervs to stay away, she should stop posting pics of her in a bikini.

Gabby is as annoying as ever. I was having a conversation at work with my co-workers, who happen to love her. I tried to enlighten them, but they didn’t seem open to hearing what I had to say. They happen to be be black co-workers. I love them, but they seemed to have jumped on the Oprah bandwagon.

    • Kate Coursey Says:

It’s a stress fracture….you don’t have to wear the boot all the time. I’ve had them before as a soccer player. They’re painful, and it’s good to wear the boot as much as possible, but it’s only really necessary if you’re doing a lot of walking or standing. Around the house, or just going outside to take a picture…not so much.

      • Gymbee Says:

Yep same here. It didn’t even hurt in the end, the boot was slowing me down, but the fracture was still there. So I had to force myself to wear it, but only when I had to walk places.

    • Case Says:

Jordyn already said she won’t be able to fully participate in the tour at first due to her injury.

      • Kel Says:

Thanks for the comments! I didn’t know much about stress fractures….just assumed you had to wear the boot for it to heal.

  9. JAS4 Says:

I thought about going to the tour when it comes to Charlotte since it’s not to far away because I’m sure it’d be amusing lol but I don’t want to spend the money on it lol

    • terrigymfan Says:

I checked on the ticket prices for when it comes here to Dallas in October. It looks like it’s about $100 for a decent seat. If we go there will be five of us (me, hubby, and three teens), so we’re looking at $500 just for the tickets. That’s a lot in my book. Not sure it’s worth it.

    • Kazic Says:

Jas, you live in my home state. Woo. I will be going when the tour swings around to the ATL.

  10. sainabou nyang Says:

So I read on sports illustrated website that Nastia is assisting with the choreography for the tour. All I can say is. Yikes!

    • Case Says:

LOL. That makes me want to go just so I can rip on it.

      • sainabou nyang Says:

I saw the last gala or whatever it was when she was doing her little shimmy around the beam. God these tours are so corny and to think people were hoping that there would be a gymnastics gala after this years olympi like they did in Beijing.

      • Gymbee Says:

I didn’t mind the Melbourne gala when Nemov took his shirt off haha.

    • Gymbee Says:

Choreography, Nastia style = everyone trying to sexually seduce the apparatus before they mount it.

      • DL Says:

Haha. This is going to be a trainwreck.

      • sainabou nyang Says:

Lol I pray it will be on youtube. I could use a good laugh.

      • terrigymfan Says:

Haha Gymbee. That must have been what I saw in that video where it looked like she had put on a little padding in the belly (her midsection was bare). She looked like she was trying to have sex with the balance beam!

    • mim Says:

oh please let this be true. we’ll be in for some solid gold comedy.

    • sainabou nyang Says:

I wish I could find out what goes on behind the scenes of these tours. Can you imagine Nastia instructing Chelsie or asac on how to move and become one with beam.

      • mim Says:

i can hear nastia now… “NO chellsie you’re doing it wrong….. SEDUCE the beam!”

      • sainabou nyang Says:

Lol and asac saying here Chelsie you have to tooch your bootie and smize with your eyes like Tyra Bank says. Then Nastia will give asac the bitch face like bitch I’m running this not you.

  11. Jazzy31 Says:

So I was one of the crazies that stood in line forever in the heat on Monday at the AG store in Natick so my girls could meet Aly. After almost 3 hours of waiting, they got to spend about 20 seconds in her presence, but they both said, “That was sooooo worth it!” 🙂

Aly seems like the real deal. Very sweet and humble. She started signing autographs over an hour early and stayed late. She had a flight to catch, but her dad kept pacing around and checking his watch and telling the AG staff that she could see a few more. The whole Raisman fam seemed to want to accomodate as many fans as they could.

Personally, I had my pic taken with her mom Lynn since I think she’s hilarious.

    • Biyatch Says:

Nice to hear. She, Jo and Kyla def seem like the most grounded.

It probably should be noted that Aly took the least risk when she gave up ncaa eligibility. Her family is obviously financially secure with a multi-million dollar home in addition to a house on the cape.

Most people probably didn’t see her as gaining the individual star status she has as it was believed she would play second fiddle to Jo and Gabby and doesn’t have the Alicia personality that endorsement love. (Come to think of it, there seem to be a lot of Alicia/McKayla parallels.)

Gabby becoming a polarizing figure is probably only helping Aly. Aly is being portrayed as the reliable, sweet, leader with American girl next door appeal.

    • Aerial Says:

Haha! Great call! Would love to see that pic Biyatch… but can visualize instead.

  12. sanitynmotion Says:

You know what I was just thinking? Worlds 2013 is going to be likely a better competition for the AA than the London Olympics. We’ll likely see Komova again, a more improved/healed up Musty, a healthy Iordache and Jinnan, and then from the US we’ll (hopefully) have Kyla Ross and likely Katelyn Ohashi or Priessman or Finnegan or Price. If you think about it Gabby won with a lackluster field going after it – aided by the 2 per country rule. So I’m hoping 2013 will be a better fight than the Olympics were. Just sayin’.

    • sainabou nyang Says:

I think so too. Everyone from this Olympics who are returning should hopefully be healthy and back at 100%.

BTW has anyone ever watched the FIG worldcup? There are two later this year that I might try to catch in youtube. Hopefully it wont be a snoozefest.

    • Katie Says:

I agree with your comment except that everyone says that Nastia would have never won in 2008 against the current field and that Shawn was underscored. That Carly should have never beaten Khorkina and that there was a fix. At Nationals and Trials, I could see that there, ought be a fix for Gabby, but I just don’t get how it was fixed for the Games. Everyone always said, “oh, these us judges are scoring gabby much differently than international judges would” but they weren’t. And vika would have won the whole thing if she didn’t take 75 steps off of her amanar,

      • gymtruthteller Says:

Go back and watch Gabby’s connections on beam. Every time she missed a connection she got credit for it.

These judges did not do their jobs if they had she would have lost start value several times.

Nastia would have been behind the 8 ball big time on vault and her form issues on bars would have taken her out against any older competition. Of course she would have had less of a routine on bars too but that is a whole other discussion.

      • Katie Says:

You are100% right about the vault. How the hell did Nastia do the same vault in the Olympics that was done in the 90’s? And. Am I am no fan of a gabby. I think her gymnastics leaves a lot to be desired and I thought she would get confronted with the cold hard truth in the AA at the Olympics. But she didn’t. I still don’t get it. Beam connections, bad floor landings, steps on vault and bad bar form. I hate her bar form. It looks so rough. all I’m saying is that just about every gymnast after lilypod has been accused of a “fix”. I’m obsessed with that girl.

      • sanitynmotion Says:

I am not a fan of Gabby’s attitude – especially after the Olympics (where she’s only throwing her old gym in the mud and going completely 180 on her dad in her life, etc.) Her comment about Jordyn was absolutely disrespectful, immature, and just plain inconsiderate. Unfortunately, even if she totally falls on her face in the future (like Nastia) she can always fall back on her “well I was the Olympic AA chamption” (like Nastia).

Even so, I never thought Gabby’s gymnastics was bad at all. I actually liked her gymnastics (with the exception of floor artistry, or lack thereof). What is bad about her form on bars? I really want to know – I’m not just asking rhetorically. I never realized Nastia had bad form on bars until it was pointed out to me (the leg separations coming down from her giants, for instance).

  13. Biyatch Says:

Kyla interview at the baseball game: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EZEm16uhUSE

  14. Biyatch Says:

Does anyone know if USA Gymnastics pays out for medals like USA Swimming does? I know swimmers get $75k for a gold medal from USA Swimming plus the $25k from USOC Operation Gold.

    • Case Says:

Wow, that would be impressive. Where does USA Swimming get the funds for that? They paid out mad cash for the London games.

  15. Exgymgurl Says:

Biyatch is awesome!!!!! McKaylas cleavage should have its own twitter…

    • gymtruthteller Says:

She also just tweeted a picture of her Kyla and Jordyn at the pool but all you see is her leg and the pool.

She could not be that scared of all the attention considering what she keeps tweeting. My God where is her mother during this?

I can’t believe she has a stylaist. What the hell does her father do for a living.lol

      • Case Says:

Isn’t McKayla’s Dad an attorney? I thought I read that somewhere.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

Is he older than her mother? I have never seen her dad but I get the impression she is like the child of an old man and a trophy wife that lets her child have whatever she wants.lol

      • Case Says:

Well he was the QB at Purdue, so I assumed Mrs. Maroney was some easy prize conquest from his college days.

      • Gymbee Says:

And here we go again with the “Where’s Gabby?” comments on that photo hahaha.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

She is being held down by Aly in the pool, duh:)

      • mim Says:

i saw her dad in a clip when they interviewed the parents after they won gold. he actually looked like a lovely, respectable kind of guy (same age as the mother im guessing). very well spoken and eloquent when he responded to a question about what it is like to parent an elite athlete.

i really don’t like to judge people based on looks only, so i’ll stay silent on mckayla’s mother. know nothing about her except for her posing in that mum’s photo.

      • Aerial Says:

Her Mom looks rough. Shockingly she’s about the same size/weight as McKayla.
I’m surprised her parents aren’t actively involved in her Twitter and Instagram, etc. accounts considering her age and their concerns about stalkers/bodyguards. The boob shots and boob-focused outfits definitely are not even really in style for a girl her age and the appearances she wears them to – considering her older teammates who wear stylish clothes that actually provide pretty thorough coverage.
As a former dancer, it also surprises me that a 16 year old WANTS to flaunt her breastices. All dancers and gymnasts know that with high-level aspirations, the development of boobs can often signal big trouble, and while she can strap them in or not, I’m surprised she really wants to showcase them to the world – at least boobs were the enemy with the dancers or gymnasts I knew and we didn’t want the world to be talking about them! Thank god it’s not the 90s… the commentators’ focus would be “can Maroney hang on?” due to her “curves and growing up” – wait, that’s Gedderts focus.

      • terrigymfan Says:

You know Aerial there seems to be a remarkable difference between the elite gymnasts nowadays, especially Mckayla, and the girls back in the eighties and nineties and maybe even into the early 2000s. In those days the elite gymnasts seemed to live and train in such a cocoons – their lives were so focused on gymnastics, and the outside world was so alien to them, that I am not sure they thought quite like “normal” teenage girls who are usually (at least it seems to me) very happy so let everybody know they have boobs once they start to get them. The elite gymnasts back then were more like the ballet dancers to whom you refer that simply viewed boobs as a potential detriment to their careers and therefore, if anything, didn’t want people to notice them when they started to appear. With their Twitter and Facebook and Instagram accounts, the elite gymnasts nowadays seem to interact so much more with the outside world and therefore, it seems to me, think and act so much more like ordinary teenage girls. Therefore, certainly in Mckayla’s case, they are more apt to flaunt their boobs just like many other teenage girls do. Plus I do think, notwithstanding Geddert’s recent comments, boobs on elite gymnasts is not looked upon by the judges and gymnastic world as negatively as perhaps it once was (which is a good thing IMO), at least not if they haven’t gotten ridiculously monstrous in size.

      • Aerial Says:

LOL! I totally agree. I also think since McKayla as expressed interesting in things like modelling and acting (where non pre-pubescent figures and sex appeal – gross, can’t believe I said that but being honest), that she likes this other aspect in her life where she can vamp herself up a little bit. Clearly she wouldn’t pose and photograph herself the way she does, if she wanted to be seen as a little girl or a child model!

      • terrigymfan Says:

At least she is not a 12 or 13 year old girl being dressed up in an adult way to appeal the sexual interests of men. Have you ever seen pictures showing how they marketed Brooke Shields when she was that age? I was only about five years old at the time and only vaguely remember seeing the ads and of course didn’t comprehend things at the time. It was only years later after someone reminded me about it when I googled her to see if what I vaguely recalled was accurate. I was actually shocked. The ads and movies she was appearing in at that age (and maybe even a little younger) were downright perfected. They dressed her up completely to look like an adult vamp and appeal to the pruient interests of adult men. It’s actually unbelievable.

      • terrigymfan Says:

Meant to say “perverted” where it says “perfected.” I have to find a way to turn this darn autocorrect off on my computer.

      • Aerial Says:

Yes, I remember that… I also remember that her first child movie role was as a baby prostitute and her boinking men, I found it shocking and my mother ripped the tv converter out of my hands.

  16. Case Says:

In other breaking news, Gabby, Kyla and McKayla will be throwing out the first pitch at the Dodgers game on Labor Day. Apparently they wanted the entire Fierce Five but Jordyn and Aly have commitments in NYC….though in my head I was hoping those two gave the Dodgers the middle finger because of their deep allegiances to the Tigers and Red Sox. Lol.

Does Gabby cheer for an MLB team? Her pitch throwing seems random. Did Shade bcc every team in the league?

    • gymtruthteller Says:

I will follow your thought process. Aly clearly wanted no part of seeing Josh Beckett, Adrian Gonzalez and Nick Punto.lol

    • gymtruthteller Says:

I know she is a Patriots fan and I read she is a Laker fan (Gabby) so judging by this trend I would say she roots for the Yankees and which ever team won the last Stanely Cup last year.lol (I think it was the Kings)

  17. Kylie Says:

ohhhh even I know who those men are, I’ve been to 2 Angels games in my life. Not bad coming from a NZer where Baseball is barely even played.

    • gymtruthteller Says:

They are evil men. Evil, Evil, Evil:) I am impressed that you know who Trout is because before a week ago I had never heard of him and I am a baseball fan. We started playing the angels so late this year. We usually play them in April.

Torri and I go way back. I saw him get hurt trying to catch a ball hit off the monster back when he was with Minny. Before he, you know, became an asshole Angel and started acting like a jackass.

  18. Biyatch Says:

Anna Li posted a pic of her and Alicia on twitter at tour rehearsal. I can only imagine the internal dialogue of that interaction. Something along the lines of Anna: “That should officially be my medal, bitch!” Alicia: The patented eye roll and death glare.

Granted according to Anna’s twitter bio seems to be noticeable absent of the world alternate. “US National Team! 2012 Olympic team! 2011 WORLD CHAMPION” I could have seen Marta using Aly on bars in TF (lol) before she called on Anna… just saying.

  19. Gymnerd Says:

Gabby has stretched or twisted the truth at least once already. Either her dad was serving in Afghanistan and they Skyped often and she was just so thrilled to see him at Trials, or he was a deadbeat and didn’t pay child support and she hadn’t seen him in years – which was it? I suspect USAG/NBC encouraged her to play up the military bit, but why expose yourself as a liar (one way or the other) like the day after you win the gold? It makes it a little harder to believe subsequent claims (“I left because I was buuuuuullllllllllllllllied at my old gym!!!!!”) News flash: just because someone doesn’t like you or says something meeeeeeaaaaan to you, doesn’t mean you’re a “victim” of “bullying.”

    • Gymbee Says:

I read Marcia Newby’s letter on Excaliburs facebook page. Apparently Douglas lied about being the only African American in the gym

      Newby wrote:

“After all this, please also note that Gabrielle’s statement that “I was the only African American at the gym,” is false. There were other African American gymnasts at the gym before, during, and after her time, including myself. So I ask, why, if the described situation was entirely factual, was it necessary to state this false information publicly?

      • Exgymgurl Says:

Marcia actually goes to college and understands how to write. gabby is just sinking her ship….

      • Gymnerd Says:

I know. Isn’t it great? Also, if you read the Vanity Fair article, Gabby has been homeschooled for many years.

Oh, well, Gabby’s rich as shit now. She doesn’t have to go to school or work another day in her life. WHY did it have to be her????????

  20. Biyatch Says:

    http://www.wcnc.com/news/dnc-charlotte-2012/top-links/Fierce-Five–to-attend-DNC-in-Charlotte–167977886.html

“Four of the five members from the U.S gymnastics team known as the ‘Fierce Five’ will be attending the Democratic National Convention next week.
DNC officials confirmed to NewsChannel 36 Thursday morning that Gabrielle Douglas, McKayla Maroney, Aly Raisman and Jordyn Wieber.”

  21. terrigymfan Says:

I am sure this is intended as just another PR stop for the team but I think this is inappropriate for them to show up as “team” at a political convention. It definitely conveys the impression USA Gymnastics and/or the Olympic team is endorsing a political party. If any of these girls want to individually endorse a candidate or political party, or simply “show up” individually at a political event, that is their business and right but they should not do it as a team.

    • sainabou nyang Says:

Sounds like a PR stunt to me. I hope these girls are getting paid because they are being used.

    • Case Says:

Yeah that has to be a high paying appearance because I’m not sure all those families are hard core democratic. Lol.

I disagree with the whole thing in theory, but some of these girls get upwards of $30k for showing up and smiling so I can’t knock them too much for it.

    • sanitynmotion Says:

Yeah if they show up at the DNC, they should show up at the RNC too (and get paid for doing both). Although I want to say it’s entirely inappropriate on USAG’s part for the way this team is being represented. Sports and politics really should not mix.

I mean, ok, what if the RNC pulls Kobe Bryant? Haha…(he would get so much sh*t from the media/liberal Hollywood no celebrity in their right mind would show up at the RNC). Although if I were working for the Dems I would pay Tom Cruise to show up at the RNC. Just sayin’.

  22. nero Says:

Ok, this is getting ridiculous. I didn’t mind Gabby saying she felt isolated/bullied at Excalibur. Like I said before, I’m sure she was and I’m sure it hurt her feelings. But it’s time to stop airing every single incident that may or may not have happened.

    http://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-news/news/gabby-douglas-told-to-get-a-nose-job-by-virginia-gym-staffer-2012308

She is the Olympic AA Champion, it’s time to show a little class and move on. I mean, I don’t know about you guys but if I just achieved my biggest goal and dream I wouldn’t dwell on the shitty things that happened in the past

    • Case Says:

Oprah’s “adoption” of Gabby is the single worst thing that could have happened to her. Her career will be remembered for this crap, not the gymnastics.

      • sainabou nyang Says:

Every time I see that of her and gabby I cringe. That women is such a phony. She wouldn’t of cared about Gabby if she hadn’t won that AA.

      • Kazic Says:

Sigh. Oprah will put words in her mouth.

    • Gymbee Says:

The countless times I had my shirt or some other clothing hidden by kids when I was little, and all the times I did it myself. I think kids just being kids is getting equated more and more to bullying these days.

    • Biyatch Says:

I wonder if the farther we get removed from the games/post-tour if stories will come out about the national team and her olympic teammates isolating her or if her agent/ pr team will at least have the sense not to diminish the team gold.

Its already public knowledge that in the village Gabby was the only of the five to have their own room. There was def a Jo, Aly, McKayla clique that Kyla was brought into via McKayla connection.

      • terrigymfan Says:

Good point Biyatch. I definitely see that coming. She wouldn’t do that now because that would upset the gravy train they are all on but once their fame starts to die down, and she feels like the public is not paying attention to her, I can see her whining about how she was treated by the other girls in London. We’ll probably will be able to catch this on Oprah about this time next year.

      • sainabou nyang Says:

I wanna see how they are on tour together. The Olympics are over and thet aren’t a team anymore so all this talk about being sisters and best friends makes me wonder what the vibe will be on tour. On tour they don’t have to pretend anymore in my opinion.

      • Gymbee Says:

Yeah. Maybe she can blame it on IOC/FIG. “With the 5 member team, I was bound to be isolated in the rooms situation.” Hehe I see it coming.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

If Gabby starts saying her teammates treated her badly she will be the one people don’t believe. You can’t keep playing the victim before someone calls you on it

      • mim Says:

why do gabby and anna call each other roomies though? did they room together for trials then?

    • Gymnerd Says:

  23. terrigymfan Says:

I sure wish we could find a video of Kyla throwing out the first pitch. I bet she had pretty good form considering her dad was a professional baseball player. Definitely some good genes there.

You definitely have to like Kyla. Just wondering how everybody would rate the team in terms of likeability. Here is mine:

    1. Kyla/Jo — complete tossup here. Neither one full of themselves and just great girls all the way around.

    2. Aly — just barely behind Kyla and Jo. There is very little not to like about Aly IMO.

3 Mckayla — I like Mckayla a lot myself. She is funny and very outgoing. I am pretty sure she makes everybody around her feel good, and I personally think is very nice at heart. But she definitely has a high opinion of herself and loves attention and can be annoying.

    4. Gabby. She is at an all time low with me right now. Enough said.

    • sainabou nyang Says:

Kyla I have to say has really grown on me and I like the way she carries herself. Really humble.

Jordyn, I don’t know. Ive never really had any feelings concerning her. Never hated her but never liked her either, but I always admired her toughness and fight.

Aly, Ive alwaus liked. Even though I cringe during her bar routines, I like how Aly keeps it cool and isnt a drama queen.

Last there’s Mckayla whose sassy personalityI like. i always wished she had trained as an AA because one event gymnast annoy me.

      • sainabou nyang Says:

Gabby as a gymnast lots of talent, but what has always annoyed me about her is the cockyness and no sense of humbleness. I have no issue wuth an athlete being confident but when you mess up or didnt bring your A game own up to it instead of making excuses.

      • terrigymfan Says:

My rankimg was considering their gymnastics, just their personalities.

      • terrigymfan Says:

As far as Gabby is concerned she didn’t annoy me as much as she did a lot of people on this blog through the Olympics but since then she has put be over the edge too with this with all this “okay, now that I’ve made it and have a platform, it’s payback time and I am going complain about everybody who even arguably ticked me off my whole life.” At the very least now is not the time and place for all that.

      • terrigymfan Says:

I am sorry for all the typos and leaving out words like “not” (above I meant to say “not considering their gymnastics”). I’m having a bad typing day.

    • Surfergirl Says:

So who do you think will be the first of the Fierce Five to write a tell all book and dish the dirt about what really went on behind the scenes during the Olympics and the tour?

      • Gymnerd Says:

Gabby, of course, about how “isolated” and “bullied” she was after “telling the truth about her old gym.” And then in 15 or so years, we’ll get another book about her parents wasting all her money. Sit back and watch.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

        It will happen. Just a matter of time;

      • Gymnerd Says:

I’m sure she’s being bullied by her Olympic teammates too even as we speak. “They were all privileged white girls who could afford $800 Coach purses. Meanwhile, I was relegated to my $10 Wal-Mart fanny pack. They would post pictures of themselves bonding over ice baths, while I watched forlornly from the whirlpool. Oh, woe was me! The Olympics were supposed to be the greatest experience of my life, but all I could do was count the seconds till I could be back among my own kind.”

  24. Sarah Says:

I’m very disappointed that they are going to the DNC as a team and agree with terrigymfan that it’s inappropriate and in poor taste.

  25. Case Says:

A few people were wondering what is next for Geddert. I found an article about his up and coming talent. Nobody on the immediate horizon.

  26. Biyatch Says:

There are some total creepers on youtube/twitter making videos for the girls (especially Aly, it seems like the sketch balls all love the fact that she’s 18)… you kinda start to see the need for security detail.

    • nero Says:

Have you been on tumblr? There are people writing fanfics of Aly/Mustafina Mustafina/Komova. I have not read them but apparently are very inappropriate, especially considering 2 of them are underage.

      • sanitynmotion Says:

I’m new with tumblr…how do you see these posts? I just see what is “recommended” to me. For some reason it’s other people’s cats. I have no clue what’s going on or how to use it.

      • Kazic Says:

Sanity, do you really want to see the inappropriate stuff? I stumbled onto it a few weeks ago, and my eyes are still bleeding >_>

      • sanitynmotion Says:

No not really. I just really don’t know how to use Tumblr. 🙂

      • gymtruthteller Says:

Please don’t link anything about underage gymnasts to this blog that is in sexual nature.

      • Kazic Says:

I think you can do name and word searches. If people tag their posts with the same words it’ll show up. I know that’s one reason people have been raging on the fic weirdos. They tag their posts, so it show’s up if you are looking for say, legit news on Aly Raisman. Instead you might get bizzare lesbian escapades. Charming.

    • mim Says:

i find it kind of strange that people are all of a sudden obsessed with the idea/wishing that musty be a lesbian. personally, i dont care if she is or isn’t. but because she hugged and kissed her teammate on the cheek it has triggered some bizarre “is she a lesbian? i hope she’s a lesbian!” response. so weird.

      • terrigymfan Says:

There’s always been perverted stories floating around the Internet about this gymnast or that gymnast having “lesbian” affairs with another gymnast. It’s always just a product of somebody’s imagination. There is no more reason to think Musty is a lesbian than anybody else walking down the street. Heterosexual girls express affection for each other by kissing on the cheeks, hugging, etc. , and of course that happens in sport too. I have a feeling Musty thinks of Komova as her “little sister” (and vice versa), so of course they embraced and even kissed in the Olympics during those very intense emotional moments.

There is no doubt that some female sports tend to have a lot of lesbian participants. College and pro basketball is one of them, and I’ve heard that pro golf is another. (Before anybody jumps on me I am just stating a fact, and I am certainly not saying anywhere near all participants in those sports are lesbians. I also couldn’t care less about somebody’s sexual orientation – it’s their business and not mine.) Female gymnasts, though, seem to be mainly heterosexual. I am sure there are exceptions but I very much suspect that the percentage of lesbian gymnasts is no higher than whatever the percentage is in general population.

      • sanitynmotion Says:

That’s kind of weird about people wanting Musty to be a lesbian (I mean, it’s kind of more a culture thing Russia shows those types of expressions, kisses on the cheek, etc)…people are so ignorant sometimes.

In my experience, women’s softball and water polo are chock-full of lesbians. I’m a water polo player, so I know this. I only know about softball from what I’ve witnessed/been told, but I can confirm water polo. I also know for a fact that even on the women’s national polo team, sometimes those girls get so sexually frustrated (they train with each other all of the time and have no time for social lives or anything else really outside the pool) they actually start hooking up with each other.

Anyways, I don’t care about sexual preference either but why people would go on the Internet and declare someone to be a lesbian because they kissed another girl (as is the custom in this culture) is beyond me. Carrie Walsh was constantly slapping Misty May’s butt. I guess since she’s married with kids nobody is online asking if she’s a lesbian? 😉

According to my husband Sandy, the idea of two attractive girls having lesbian sex with each other is a fairly prevalent fantasy with a lot of guys (even a lot of “normal” guys) so the fact these stories about Musty and/or Komova are floating out there is really not that unexpected. I suspect that a lot of guys who get a thrill out of fantasizing about two beautiful girls like Musty and Komova making out together would actually get turned off if they saw two actual lesbians making out together.

I swam and ran competitively in high school and was around a lot of naked girls in the showers and locker rooms after meets and practices and never noticed anything but confess I was hopelessly naïve back then on sexual matters and things like “sexual orientation” so probably wouldn’t have noticed anything even if it was occurring. So I don’t know if there are a lot of lesbians in those two sports or not.

        🙂

      • Kazic Says:

The fics are bizzare and disturbing to me because they feature real people who are usually underage. And these people legit have all these fantasy’s in their heads where they are certain that certain gymnasts are hooking up. It’s weird.

My only consolation is that some of these people writing them are also underage girls, so at least they aren’t pedophiles. They are just creating literature of pedophiles to consume -_- I reported a ton of accounts a few weeks ago. I don’t are if you think you are being cute and creative, cut that sh*t out.

      • tulip Says:

I remember as a little girl watching the 76 Olympics. The Soviet team and the Eastern blo countries hugged and kissed each other on the lips, as did their coaches. My first exposure to other culture. I asked my dad and he just shrugged and said that people do things differently in other parts of the world. So it never dawned on me that morons would try to apply a different meaning.

  27. Gymnerd Says:

For God’s sake, McKayla, cover up the tits. You worry about unwanted attention, but you’re asking for it. (I actually think that whoever posted about you “needing security to make yourself seem more important than you are” was dead on.)

  28. sainabou nyang Says:

Now that Mckayla is a hollywood actress or at least for now part of the hollywood in crowd, the race is on for someone else to train that TTY. Who will it be? Because I have serious doubts she be training for it in the next year.

    • Case Says:

      My money is on Biles.

    • mim Says:

i know, i just want to yell at her “get off all these tv show sets and get your behind back in the gym!” i want a maroney TTY.

      • sainabou nyang Says:

If someone trains that vault, chucks that vault at a competition, and successfully lands without killing themselves then mckayla has no one to blame but herself.

So the race is on for which ever gymnast can do it.
In fact I think we should do a bet, whoever wins receive a free nastia voodoo doll. Lol

      • terrigymfan Says:

Hah. I suspect it is Nastia who has a shelf full of gymnast voodoo dolls. I can see her sitting in her room sticking pins in the doll of any gymnast she thinks is upstaging her in any way. I’m thinking the doll of Shawn has about a million holes in it.

      • Catherine Says:

I see her doing it at worlds. It’s over a year away, plenty of time. Biles is the only other one capable.

      • Kazic Says:

I am torn over who I want to get the TTY. I think Biles is fantastic, but I love me some Maroney. Maybe they can share it?

    • sainabou nyang Says:

Cat I think Biles can so it if not Mckayla. Mckayla i still have doubts, but I hope she proves me wrong.

I have a question though regarding the American cup after Olympics. How are the gymnast picked from the Us or how do they qualify? Who do you think Marta will pick?

      • Catherine Says:

SCAM seems to pick and choose its own rules. I know for international competitors they go down the list of all-arounders from Olympics/worlds rankings. Internally though I think they just throw the two strongest all-arounders in (and another for exhibition if they want). If Aly and Kyla are back training all-around in time and if Kyla ups her difficulty, I think a combo of Lexie/Katelyn/Aly/Kyla will be chosen. If none of them are back in the gym in time, then Maddie and Lexie. Katelyn is very 50/50.

  29. sanitynmotion Says:

Say Kyla would have received a 15.3 on her vault for a DTW in quals (which is entirely do-able)…what would he have placed in the AA? Just wondering. I need to find these scores…

    • Catherine Says:

Floor is a big letdown. Just looking it up, she scored 13.733 for it in quals, 8.33 execution (and an OOB). With a much more generous 8.9 execution in an ideal world, score would be 14.4. Vault 15.3 capability. Bars 15.366 (qualifying score + the 0.5 she lost for hitting the bar). Beam 14.866- qualifying score. Total is 59.932. That would give her third, but only because Musty and Aly had huge errors. She places 5th using her actual floor score and 6th using her actual floor and bars scores- if she had made those mistakes then. Considering two major contenders were injured for the all-around, two others made major errors and one wasn’t allowed qualify it’s not really encouraging. MOOOARRR difficulty needed immediately.

      • Catherine Says:

actually 15.066 in beam, don’t think that affects scoring though

      • sanitynmotion Says:

Nice Catherine. I totally agree with you on the difficulty. Even if she doesn’t get her amanar back (which I think she was totally relying on for AA totals, in general, this past quad), she could easily upgrade her beam (dismount and connections) and bars (dismount, probably add another bonus connection or two – dang, too bad Chow can’t just give her a bar routine to do), and floor (EVERYTHING). GTT was saying she can do a double front on floor. I don’t know why she took that out.

Floor scores were horrendous. I just looked up; how did Kyla score THAT much less than Gabby when Gabby not only went OOB, she RAN out of it? I still don’t understand that one. I know difficulty is a factor but still.

The one that KILLS me though (most) is Ponor’s score of 14.6 despite not even completing a tumbling pass. Major, major error. So it’s almost saying she “should have” received a 15.6 on her floor routine had she completed that element. Yet she got a 15.2 on her FX in event finals (which was the best she could have done), so in reality she probably should have received a 14.2 or maybe even 14.1. on her quals score. Lame judges.

This sport is so biased it kills me.

      • Catherine Says:

One of the judges totally lowballed Ponor in EF floor- kinda hilarious. Gave Mustafina and Raisman 9.3’s in execution and Ponor an 8.5! Classic. Anyway- she bailed out of it in qualifying, but still some sort of tumble- no? Not the same as Grishina in team finals, who really DID bail out of her tumbling pass. Regardless, she should not have been able to qualify to floor finals with that.

Kyla had 5.5 difficulty, that is the issue. She was still very harshly penalised on floor even without the OOB. Maybe the judges despised how many times she thrw her head back and took off for that.

Even with Gym-Max’s intense concentration on execution, I think Kyla’s height started to bite them in the ass and they could not really upgrade much in time. Also, too much focusing on the amanar she could not do safely. She certainly can adapt and upgrade (McKayla too, who is also tall enough for a gymnast) but it will probably have affected speed of upgrades.

  30. Biyatch Says:

In other news… people are now saying that Poland Springs is racist because Aly got the endorsement over Gabby. Related: people are freaking idiots.

    http://prospect.org/article/gabby-douglas-no-poland-spring-girl

    • Catherine Says:

Jesus Christ. What about the Extra show? Cast of HIMYM and Pretty Little Liars? They all had McKayla after all.

      • Catherine Says:

Oh and Aly has more medals and would have doubled Gabby’s but for the tiebreak rule. On the other hand, Gabby is the first AA champion ever not to medal in an event final. Of course, Vika would not have either, but she might not have messed up and not fought had she gotten the aa gold. Interesting to note that the reference judges who are more qualified and whose scores average the difference between theirs and the e-panel is the difference is too large (this was done for Cata in floor EF)..they gave Vika the all-around win by three tenths.

      • Biyatch Says:

I mentioned that in the medal count and (team captainship) in the comments then asked if Kellogg’s was anti-semitic for not putting Aly on the box alone. That was taken *well* by another commenter who said Aly was only team captain because she was the oldest (which I think is only partially true, I think Aly more than demonstrated leadership at the games) and then proceeded to call her a Jewish American Princess (which can def. especially in the context that this commenter used it be derogatory.)

      • Biyatch Says:

Oh and just to make sure people don’t take it the wrong way, the Kelloggs comment was meant to be read facetiously

      • terrigymfan Says:

Good thing you clarified things Biyatch. I was just about to post a reply blasting you for your obvious racial/ethnic/religious insensitivity on this matter.

      • Catherine Says:

I bet the same person failed to notice that Aly was team captain at worlds and did a great job there too. Or that Aly was the one who got Gabby to calm down and lectured her before team finals beam. And the one to hug all of the Russians. Full of class and a great leader, she’s a good ambassador.

    • sanitynmotion Says:

Notice it’s just one person making the extreme comments at the bottom,…and coming back to fight anything anyone says against her. Princess Lily or whatever – she’s probably MaryMargaret in disguise.

    • terrigymfan Says:

Poland Springs is a pretty stupid example to use to try to make the point that they were racist in selecting Aly over Gabby, given that Poland Springs is produced in Aly’s home state where she is so popular right now. It’s just a troll article trying to get everybody’s blood pressure up.

    • Gymbee Says:

Jeez, it’s almost as if some people WANT there to be racism, by applying it everywhere. Good comment Biyatch. If Poland Springs are now racist, you can say that about everything and everyone that didn’t have Gabby come on their show or endorse their product. Was surprised to see the author is a Ph.D candidate from Cornell.

      • Gymbee Says:

Article lady writes “I just want to point out that it’s important for all of us to think about how we perceive athletes we admire and whether race plays a factor in our perceptions.”

Well if the best example she has of “racism in sports” is Douglas not getting a Poland Springs endorsement, she needs to re-assess IMO… Many of the worlds most popular athletes ever are black, and have more companies wanting to endorse them than they can count. Usain Bolt comes to mind. Michael Jordan, Carmelita Jeter, Williams sisters…. when I think of the most popular athletes (from my view) I realise most of them are black.

      • sanitynmotion Says:

You can’t forget Kobe Bryant. 🙂

This author makes a stupid point. I also believe it would be moot if Gabby were a male.

      • JAS4 Says:

Agreed! The people making the racism accusations are generally the ones who are making a bigger deal out of it than the people they accuse! Why does it matter what color skin a person has to endorse bottled water! Lol and Poland Spings is popular in the New England area where Aly is from (and she also has the most medals)! I don’t think any of those same people would be making racism accusations if a water company from Virgina or Iowa wanted to endorse Gabby instead of Aly! I don’t understand why people are making such a big deal and accusing everyone who doesn’t love Gabby of being a racist I’m not a Gabby fan but it’s not because of the color of her skin that doesn’t matter to me her attitude is the reason I’m not a Gabby fan like saying the what she did about Jo about the AA after prelims and I know she is only 16 and I don’t expect her to be a perfect public speaker but most 16 year olds including her teamates would’t make remarks like that given the situation

    • Gymnerd Says:

Aren’t companies allowed to choose whoever they want to endorse their products? Or has affirmative action spread to endorsements, too?

Here’s a thought: Maybe they chose Raisman over Douglas because Raisman is a NICE, NORMAL girl who didn’t throw her own father under the bus….who didn’t trash her old gym in interviews…whose mother isn’t a media hog. God damn I’m sick of this whole “I didn’t get my way, so it must be RACISM!” business!!!!!!

  31. sanitynmotion Says:

Honestly with the way Gabby has been handling herself lately it will be difficult for her to get major endorsement deals. You think major brands want people that just air out dirty laundry and have negative stuff to say about people? No. Gabby has been very un-classy in her win; she could have walked off and let bygones be bygones and paid her gym off. She chose the alternate/low-class route. I can’t say Excalibur handled themselves well either – they were airing out Gabby’s mom’s dirty laundry well before the Olympics – but at least Gabby with her win could have just smiled it off. It’s the best revenge. Instead she chose otherwise. Nobody wants to associate themselves with mud-slinging behavior.

    • Catherine Says:

Yes that’s what I think as well, the negativity will harm her in the long run. Maybe she can shake it off and be as successful but just looking to Shawn and Nastia and how marketable Shawn is by comparison, it’s easy to see why she has lasted. Now I have an image in my head of Gabby selling detergent with your dirty laundry comment aghh..

      • terrigymfan Says:

That’s funny Catherine. I can see the commercial now: “Hi, I’m Gabby Douglas, Olympic aa champion but better known as someone who airs people’s dirty laundry. With someone like me around you need a detergent that really works. That’s why I recommend ABC brand detergent . . . .” 🙂

      • sanitynmotion Says:

LOL actually if she did that…I’d have more respect for her!

      • Kazic Says:

If anyone is interested in some pro-gabby blogs: http://spannysbigfakesmile.blogspot.com/ There’s 3 there. Spanny makes some interesting points.

      • JAS4 Says:

I read that too it did make interesting points like about Excalibur mud slinging first but the whole thing was just so extremely pro Gabby though lol but triple twist did a blog about it that thought was pretty good as well and they aren’t known for Gabby bashing and they don’t in the blog they just state the same things we’ve all been saying here about how her stories keep changing and all here is the link to it if anyone is interested https://twitter.com/tripletwistblog/status/241007722449997824

      • Case Says:

Interesting article JAS4. Says Gabby was turned down by both WOGA and Hills before going to Chow. Very interesting.

      • Kazic Says:

I find that article to be a little too pro-excalibur. It didn’t mention the way they did kind of go after her first. I think there’s been lots of mud slinging on both sides and the matter needs to be resolved privately.

      • JAS4 Says:

I think it would be best if Gabby and he family and Excalibur reach an agreement privately and I think also it would be a good idea if Gabby’s agent would tell her not to do interviews related to her family’s past and all and just keep interviews related to gymnastics and the present and keep things positive which would make
her much more appealing to sponsors and also it would be would better for Gabby too

      • Case Says:

WOGA and Hills pursued Gabby first and then turned her down? Do tell Kazic…

      • Kazic Says:

Case my issue is that before Gabby said anything Excalibur was airing her financial dirty laundry. She may have brought up the more negative experiences she had at the gym in retalitation.

The Woga thing is interesting though. I thought that was just a rumor.

      • Dee Says:

Interesting. Didn’t know that about WOGA/Hills. I’m not surprised WOGA turned her down, but Hills? Rumor has it Kelli is just about done coaching, so maybe Hills just didn’t want another elite/go through the Olympic year again.

    • terrigymfan Says:

I agree Sandy. Gabby is pretty foolish doing anything to harm her marketability right now. I happen to personally know a lawyer who works on the endorsement contracts her company enters into with various celebrities to endorse their products, whether it is by issuing tweets on their Twitter accounts (“I use XYZ product. It is great and you should use I too.”), appearing at company events, whatever. Her company has gotten a number of proposals from these gymnasts’ agents lately, and I entered into contracts with at least one of them (sorry, can’t mention her name or the company’s name). She says the fame of these gymnasts is so fleeting that these proposals can literally become stale in a matter of days, and in some cases even hours. In other words what these companies are willing to agree to pay this week is probably going to be a lot less next week, if they are willing to do it at all. The companies rightfully IMO couldn’t give a damn about all this PC nonsense. They just want to know if they are going to get an adequate return on their endorsement dollar, and if you are doing things to tick people off, they are not going to pay.

    • sanitynmotion Says:

Yeah – the sad thing is Nastia was not as blatantly negative as Gabby. Gabby actually does have the “smile” and the “pretty girl” look and “could” be as marketable, but unfortunately her coming out, talking smack on her dad and her former gym (that trained her until she was 14) – doesn’t look good and makes her not so appealing. The stand-outs from this quad will be the McKayla for her “sass” and Aly for being “solid” – hopefully Jordyn too for being the “hero” to come out positively from what happened to her in quals.

  32. Catherine Says:

There is actually a detergent company here whose ads are all about soap opera drama and how the detergent is er helpful in cleaning everything…it’d be perfect!

    • terrigymfan Says:

Not long ago I attended a meeting put on by the marketing folks at the company I work for and they showed several humorous commercials from other countries. There was at least two or three Irish commercials and they were funny as can be. I’ll say one thing for the Irish — they have a great sense of humor. 🙂

      • sanitynmotion Says:

The Brits do too! I love their movies hahaha…

      • terrigymfan Says:

Have you seen “Shawn of the Dead?” I can’t remember the two guys’ names who did that movie but they are a riot. The usually appear as a team. There was another movie they were in I saw not long ago. They were cops in some small town in England. I can’t remember the name of that movie or even its exact plot but do remember it was hilarious too. I love British humour. 🙂

      • sanitynmotion Says:

No but I need to. My all-time favorite movie scene was from The Full Monty when the dude is interviewing and behind the interviewer, two of the guys were making scenes with the dude’s garden gnomes and ended up breaking one…I mean I was in tears laughing so hard!

      • Catherine Says:

Interesting! American ads are known as being awful, far too many infomercials and endorsements and it did confirm everything for me when I was there. Surprisingly enough, all of the best and funniest ads here are all for alcohol.

Ah but have you seen Father Ted? It’s available on youtube under 4OD. Seriously if you have time on your hands, check it out. It’s an Irish comedy set in Ireland with an Irish cast, but it was produced in Britain and aired on their channel first. A good collaboration ha. The last episode aired in 1997 (main actor died) and it is STILL shown on TV all the time on loads of channels and is heavily quoted by everyone.

      • terrigymfan Says:

Sandy, “Hot Fuzz” is the name of the other movie I mentioned. Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are the two actors.

      • nero Says:

Ah I LOVE Hot Fuzz, very funny one of my favorite movies. I was worried I wouldn’t ‘get’ the British humor but it was fine.

      • mim Says:

i love father ted! it’s so funny! 🙂

  33. JAS4 Says:

I’m guessing now that anyone who endorses any white gymnast over Gabby is also racist lol does that make sponsors anti-Russian for choosing Shawn over Nastia lol

    • Kazic Says:

In America being anti-russian might not be considered a bad thing lol.

      • Guest Says:

Maria Sharapova is Russian (both Ethnically and Nationally) but she gets more endorsement and money over Serena Williams who accomplished more in Tennis. I think the “Anti-Russian” issue is not major thing in US nowadays.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

The Williams sister father was an ass when they were younger. He is a big reason no one likes them. I always hated Venus. She was a cocky ass but she while still a jerk sometimes is much more likable now than when she was a kid.

I like Serena ever since I saw her on Punked (she came across as a very nice person) but I can totally see why people don’t like her and I can see companies not wanting to be associated with her.

        I can’t stand Maria Sharapova.

I am weird that way one of my favorite Tennis players of all times is Martina Hingis but when it comes to cocky jerks those are the types of athletes I usually don’t like but I liked her.

Then again my fave NBA player of all time was really brass but he has a heart of gold and worked his butt off 100% of the time with injuries that would have put put any wimpy baseball players for years and he never got any credit for how hard he worked on the court. He was just un-appreciated especially in this city I live in.

      • Gymnerd Says:

Serena Williams also looks like a man and acts like a spoiled brat. Remember her threatening to kill the umpire a couple of years ago? (“I will fucking kill you!”) I wouldn’t walk to the corner to see her. Nor would I want her name associated with my company.

    • nero Says:

That Poland Springs article was STUPID. So everything that Gabby doesn’t endorse is automatically racist because she’s not endorsing it??? What about Jo’s Auto Owner’s insurance, isn’t that based in Michigan? Should Gabby endorse that also? Aly is being inducted into the Jewish Sports Hall of Fame, are they racist for not including Gabby?

God forbid the other members of the USA TEAM get some recognition, it’s not like they’re all Olympic Gold medalists or anything

PS am I the only one that has never heard of Poland Springs? I’m sure it’s at the grocery store but I had never heard of that brand. I don’t need to buy water, I have fridge water

    • Kate Coursey Says:

Yeah, after the last day of EF, some major sports website posted an article about Aly medaling on floor and beam. Immediately, two women in the comments section started posting stuff along the lines of OMGGZZZ GABY IZ DU AL AROUND CHAMP WHY YOU NO RITE ABOUT HER?!?!???1!!one!. When someone pointed out that the website had indeed published an article about Gabby that same day, the women started flinging around accusations of racism. (Although I know I shouldn’t engage in Internet arguments, I finally made a comment, and the woman informed me that I was pale as sh*t, looked like a Twilight extra, and obviously hated black people). They found an article talking about Aly (the most decorated American gymnast of these games, as we all know) very personally offensive because (obviously) every article eva in duh world should be about Gabby.

Which leaves me going, WTF? Your logic does not resemble our logic here on earth. I suppose every article published about Gabby is anti-semetic because it’s not about Aly, or anti-ChineseFilipinoPuertoRican because it’s not about Kyla.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

lol, well said. Like I said before black people can be as racist as they want and never have to answer for it.

  34. Dee Says:

ugh the Maroney Extra segment was a tad annoying.

  35. Surfergirl Says:

So I’ve been reading here and else where on the internet about the claims Gabby has made. While bullying is a serious issue these days I have to wonder if Gabby was “picked on” not because of her race but because of her personality. I would love to know what she was like back at Excalibur. From what I’ve seen and heard from her my opinion is she is cocky and self centered. She knows how to play the sweet and innocent, I love Jesus, part very well, but is this who she really is? This is just my perception but she seems to have an agressive, calculating side to her. Has she ever bullied someone???

    • gymtruthteller Says:

I find the God people are the biggest hypocrites in the world so that sounds like Gabby.

Someone in the article about excalibur says Gabby was disciplined for bullying her daughter. I hope if that is true she would come out and tell the world to shut up the little phony but I doubt that will ever happen.

      • JAS4 Says:

        Nastia and Gabby BFFs lol!

      • gymtruthteller Says:

Is Gabby stupid? Can’t she see Nastia for what she is? Even the way she is sitting reeks of someone looking to steal her spotlight.

        It is hilariously sick.

      • JAS4 Says:

Kind of like a Voldemort/professor Quirell kind of thing lol

      • gymtruthteller Says:

Is that Harry Potter? I have never seen it:)

      • JAS4 Says:

Yes lol Professor Quirrell has Voldemort leached on to the back of his head lol like in this picture

      • gymtruthteller Says:

lol . I will try that free postermaker for my next picture.

      • JAS4 Says:

That was the only link to a good picture that showed both lol here’s the video link the leaching is very Nastia-ish lol

      • Guest Says:

Nastia is leeching Fierce 5 for seeking more attention. When Fierce 5 is dimming after a few years, she will change her new target to continue leeching.

      • sainabou nyang Says:

Nastia has almost mastered Martas strangulation hold. The hand on the back of the neck looking like she wants to squeeze the life out of you.

      • Gymbee Says:

I bet that by this point next year, when (hopefully) Kyla is the next big thing, the veteran, Nastia will be BFF’s with her.

      • Gymnerd Says:

Every time I see pictures from the tour, etc., I wonder if Jordyn must be dying. Every time Gabby gets introduced as “OLLLLLYYYYYYYYYYYYYYMMMMMPIC CHAAAAAAAAAMPION!!”, every time Gabby gets some special interview or whatever, I know I’d be thinking, “That was supposed to be me.” It’s gotta hurt. I hope she has someone to have some good bitch sessions with.

    • lol Says:

Give gabby a little credit. She is not even touching nasty

      • Guest Says:

The reason why Gabby choose Chow’s rather than WOGA has already explained who is her favourite in 08 squad. People would believe Shawn is her BFF more than the Russian.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

Woga turned Gabby down.Gabby chose nothing

      • Catherine Says:

Valeri had no issues taking other gymnasts in from other gyms. There’s speculation it was not so much loyalty to other gyms that stopped in (seeing as he did take in others) but that he had heard of the huge debt Excalibur had been saddled with.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

I am sure the rumors of what Gabby and her mother are like were well known by a lot of gyms. In hindsight I wish Valeri would have taken her. She so would have tanked while he ignored her and trained his daughter. Just like Becca

      • JAS4 Says:

If she had been at WOGA she probably wouldn’t have had an Amanar and she probably would have pirouetted her way to a 7.0 bar routine lol

      • gymtruthteller Says:

and fallen on it 4 times out of 4 chances. I think Chow learned from not upping Shawns UB start value. That killed her chances

      • JAS4 Says:

And Probably still made the team because Marta loves her and Valeri lol

      • Catherine Says:

Yeah no matter how much you hear about Shawn hating bars and not being comfortable on them..she did have good form and potential there, and they only really exploited it with the dismount. She should have been able to leave Nastia in the dust.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

It was a huge mistake on his part and it killed her chances. Even with the “Amanar” those judges were not going to let her win

Shawns bars should have definitely been upgraded but even if they were it wouldn’t surprise me if Nastia still would have won like her scoring over a 15 for her Yurchenko 1.5 Vault

I read a good blog earlier today about Martas tough choice of which four gymnast will be choosen for worlds. The blogger seems to think that Aly could be choose
This will be interesting especially if Gabby attempts a comeback. Can Marta have more than one favorite and have Gabby and Katelyn as her pets? I suspect that if Katelyn is healthy and Kyla is back next year that those two will be pitted against each other for all of 2013. It will those two battling for the AA at worlds.

I definitely don’t see Gabby in the mix. 2013 Juniors are Lexie, Katelyn, Maddie and Simone. At this point, Sarah will outshine maddie and McKayla will outshine Simone IF she is training a harder vault for 2013.

I see Katelyn and Kyla battling for the AA and both in contention for beam and bars. Aly for floor and a back-up for AA if she actually keeps bars. The new code favours Aly’s floor, her first pass will be even more valuable if she keeps it. McKayla for vault and a floor back-up, if she’s not in training, then Simone. The two are fairly interchangeable. If Aly is not training then replace her with Sarah or Lexie. It’s hard to tell right now which of Lexie and Katelyn will be seen as the better shot for the AA, and of course whether Kyla’s growth will affect her chances of upgrading which she needs to do like a mofo. These are the 7 I think are by far the most important.

Katelyn, even in the new code, is severely disadvantaged by her vault. Her DTY was SCARY at Visa’s this year. A perfect 1.5 isn’t going to cut it anymore in the Amanar chucking world.

You also have to wonder if a growth spurt is going to force her to dump some of that beam difficulty.

      • Catherine Says:

Her beam was valued at 7.0 at one point, it’s not going to be a huge loss if she has to ditch a few tenths thankfully. Amanars will no longer be the be all and end all because a great DTY can now score the same as an average amanar. For Katelyn, if she can up her bars d-score and keep her beam she will be a great all-arounder with a fixed vault. That DTY was awful though. I wish Valeri would send her to AOGC for a month or so. She needs a vault in and around the 5.8 mark anyway, DTY or not. I don’t think she lacks the ability to actually DO the vault, she just needs a lot of work at it and WOGA is not really the gym for it.

I really want her to shine again, it would absolutely suck if 2011 was her stand-out year. I really cannot get excited about Lexie. Maddie’s beam is pretty bad. Simone is AWESOME, and Sarah with fixed bars would be a force to be reckoned with.

I didn’t see Katelyn’s vault at Visa’s, but I saw it at Pacific Rim and it looked pretty clean. Is she known for having scary DTYs?

      • gymtruthteller Says:

It has always been pretty short. She will need a new vault.

I wonder if Ohashi is capable of a Podkopayeva I think it has a 5.6 D Score(don’t know if that will change under the new code) but it’s only two tenths less than the DTY and she could probably make that up with bars and beam especially but I just hope she doesn’t get burned out but as of now my favorite junior is Amelia Hundley but I don’t think she will be a senior until 2014(not sure though)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_PY7lYjoBK4 She also messed up every single one in training and warm-ups according to the liveblogs, yet was still allowed go ahead and try. Fabulous coaching, not. She does look capable of it, but wow is she lucky not to be injured from that. She was injured this year, hopefully she can do it in the future. I don’t ever see an amanar coming from this anyway.
