Live Blogging, Mens prelims

I am PMSing and mens gym bores me to tears but tonight I’ve got the Television cuz the boy knows when to leave me I have him trained.

I will be watching until 7.30 most likely and will blog live for some of that. After my farm is done.

The mens team, annoys me. I like Horton but his constant pandering to the camera’s turns me off. Not a big fan of any of these gymnasts and I hate Leyva so don’t expect a very nice live blogging tonight. Pissy GTT is sometimes more fun:)

Prayers together, aaaw. So set up, probably why I can’t stand an y of these gymnasts. I don’t mind if you want to pray but the whole group, it just looks so phony.

How is Horton a shoe in and Sam isn’t when Sam beat Horton easily at Nationals? Ahhh, Nastia logic.

Nice first pass Lleyva , not (Lets count how many different ways I spell his name tonight because I am not looking it up:) Sorry but that double layout was low, stuck but low.

Here is what I know about mens gymnastics. Every time the rings swing is a tenth off. That is the rule, oh wait, that was the rule years ago, then again I think Tim told me that so it probably isn’t

Sam was on the parallel bars. He has a nice swing but I have no clue if you are supposed to do it that way. All these routines looked great to me accept the first pass and messy form of Leyva and all the swinging in Horton’s rings routine.

Pommels is boring. The worst event. Dalton is up on rings. The rings are moving again, a lot.

Scoring Tim acting like steps matter anymore.

Just a hop back, MY ASS. Tim is so biased. It was a huge step for someone earlier but for Steve it was, just a step.

I HATE THE BRONX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am hungry and bored.
t happens. I HATE THE BRONX

Who wanted the fluff, here is the fluff.

I posted and now it is gone, hmmm No credit for the dismount . This sport is crazy but I hope:) No they gave him credit. The fixed competition is in tact.

HAHA Brooks, YOU Fell. Make fun of my Patriots and get what is coming to you, BOOO

Ooops, I forgot I was blogging. I was farming.

This really is boring.

I love how Sam comes out of nowhere to beat the likes of the obnoxious duo but I know nothing about him. Who can spell his last name for me???????????

Okay I am like really bored. Usually when the men hit the women tank and so far the men are doing great minus I HATE THE BRONX and Sender.

Horton falls off high bar. What a waste.

WOMEN’S FLUFF, SAY NO TO NASTIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That was not a laid out double front/layout. Not even close. I bet they give Lgendre the credit anyway.

Well that is my night live blogging. Jeopardy is on.

Yes, Dalton nailed every floor pass. wooo, that better beat Legendreee.

Anyone else worried Kyla goes up second on bars whole Nastia goes up 4th. They have time to make sure she beats her score?

and Mr Hollie Vise (AKA, Alex Naddour) hit pommels (by the score) Ishino must have messed up (first rotation)

So after night one not much changes. Same team from Nationals. Now who gets the alternate spot?

I’m not even bothering with the men’s competition …how bad am I? I only follow the women gymnasts…

But I might be tempted to read if you’re PMSing. 🙂 That should be entertaining.

  2. nero Says:

    I WANT FLUFF!!!!

I swear if I don’t get some fluff tomorrow and Sunday I will rage.

Last year I get 9 hours of fucking Shawn Johnson fluff the year before the Olympics and this year I’ve had Kyla stepping OOB

And I like men’s gym, I love their real and honest reactions after their routines. Love Orozco.

    • Dee Says:

I freaking hated that the only fluff we got was Kyla going OOB. I also hate when people make OOB seem like the biggest mistake on this planet. So that whole fluff made me boil.

  3. terrigymfan Says:

GTT, mind telling us what you mean by your “farm”? I’ve seen you mention that a few times and don’t know what you mean.

    • sanitynmotion Says:

I’m guessing Farmville. But wasn’t that soooo two years ago? 🙂

      • Gymbee Says:

Shush you, Farmville is not two years ago 😉
I am waiting for my carrots to grow.

        Btw, Mikulak! That’s how it’s spelled 😉
I hate pommels too. My favourite event is high bar and vault.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

I love vault. It has always been my favorite event and you are soooooooooooooo wrong about farmville, it is more like so three years ago:)
Thanks for the spelling of Sam’s last name. Now go tell me how to spell thcatchev? I cannot ever find the real spelling, I must learn.

      • Gymbee Says:

        According to good old Wiki,

“which was later named Tkachev after him”

Haha I was a very late bloomer when it came to Farmville! I joined when everyone had already quit 🙂

      • gymtruthteller Says:

I started after everyone else too. Farmville be damned and thanks for the spelling of that release move I won’t be able to spell tomorrow but when I try looking it up it never comes up. Crazy

    • gymtruthteller Says:

I have a farm outside my house. I grow strawberries and cranberries for profit. I have overalls:) Yea it’s farmville. and no it was not so two years

      • sanitynmotion Says:

Dude. I was playing Mafia Wars when you guys were all up in arms about the Farm. I had to quit because I became obsessed…that was at LEAST one and a half years ago!

      • gymtruthteller Says:

Obession is such an ugly word. SHIT, Only 2 minutes until my rice expires. I’;ve gotta go, HA, Stupid PMS jokes and no, I am not drinking.

  4. nero Says:

Sender 😦 Such a soft spot for him. Dalton’s a little cutie, two years younger than me….it could work!

Am I the only one watching??

FLUUUUUUUUUUUUUUFFFFFF!!!!!! This is pretty lame fluff but whatever, it’s a start

  5. JAS4 Says:

I really hope Chris Brooks can make the team
he just seems so genuinely happy to be there competing (kind of like Amelia Hundley) and he cheers on his teammates as oppossed to standing there with a mean look on his face like a lot of the women lol

  6. nero Says:

Awww I forgot most of the guys train here in Colorado. I wonder where they’ll go and train if they can’t go to the USOC

  7. JAS4 Says:

Of course Dom cause your no longer a gymnast duh! Lol

    • gymtruthteller Says:

She loves the attention. Who is she trying to kid?

      • JAS4 Says:

        Speaking of attention seeking

      • gymtruthteller Says:

Please make her go away. I need her to GO AWAY

      • gymtruthteller Says:

She KNOWS Yang Yilin deserved that Gold medal. She even said it back in 08. Now she thinks she deserved it.

      • sanitynmotion Says:

Ha HA she’s still so pissed about this. So funny. Thank you, He Kexin!

      • JAS4 Says:

Can you imagine the field day Nastia would have if He Kexin was proved to be underaged at the 08 Olympics I can hear her now “I’m so glad the truth has come out and I now everyone knows I am the rightful UB champion” lol she’d be everywhere with that gold medal lol

      • gymtruthteller Says:

I want Jiang Yuyuan to make the Chinese Olympic team but if she doesn’t and He does I hope she wins That will kill Nastia while she is sitting on her (Hopefully)

      • JAS4 Says:

I think that might shut Nastia up about it lol then again who knows lol but she would probably have major wicked pouting looks on her face forever if anyone mentioned it lol

      • sanitynmotion Says:

NO Beth Tweddle needs to win bars. I think they screwed Ms. Beth out of a medal in ’08…

And p.s. when did Nastia say Yang should have won? I can’t imagine her saying that sort of thing!

      • gymtruthteller Says:

I know Beth needs to win bars but I can handle He winning.

No Nastia said four years ago she thought “the other Chinese girl” had the win after her routine. She actually said it.

      • sanitynmotion Says:

Even better scenario: Kyla wins bars. In a tie breaker with Komova, she has better execution.

        Nastia would flip her sh*t.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

I really want Beth to win but I would love Kyla to win beam. I’ll be happy as long as Beth wins a medal and Nastia stays home

      • JAS4 Says:

Or better yet not that I’m a Bross fan but if she were to win gold on bars (not that it would ever actually happen) I think Nastia would have smoke pouring from her ears lol

      • gymtruthteller Says:

He winning would kill her. Literally kill

      • gymtruthteller Says:

I have a better idea. He and Beth TIE for gold on

      • JAS4 Says:

I think Nastia would go completely crazy and set some Uneven Bars on fire lol

  8. nero Says:

WTF it says gymnastics starts at 8:00 tomorrow. 9:00 EST is 7:00 here, but they have swimming from 7:00-8:00

Is this the same for everyone else?

  9. Kel Says:

I am not worried about Nastia going after Kyla on bars. If Nastia performs like she did at Nationals, there is no way they will overscore her too much. Now…if she happens to do better at Trials, I can see them bumping up Nastia’s scores and not taking all the deductions they should like for say her craptastic handstands.

    • JAS4 Says:

She could miss most of the handstands and they’d probably barely deduct for them

    • gymtruthteller Says:

Kyla got a 15.500 on night one and a 15.350 on night two for virtually the same routine. Anna Li’s score went up but so did her start value.

Marta is prepared to sacrifice Kyla for Nastia and if she is given the chance she will.

      • Kel Says:

Well…let’s just hope Nastia makes it an easy decision and performs like she did at Nationals. Marta can’t take her if she performs like that…she won’t be able to justify it.

      • sanitynmotion Says:

I still have this bad feeling – GTT isn’t making it any better 🙂 – that Nastia will semi-hit on bars, get a higher score than Kyla, and it will be Nastia named to the team over Kyla.

Oh, and Kyla will get screwed on beam score, too.

Ahhhhhghghghgh that will piss me off so much.

And yes I think Nastia totally got placed after Kyla for a reason.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

I hate conspiracy theories but have I mentioned that I, DON’T TRUST MARTA and nothing made me feel better at Nationals when Kyla hit the near same routine and scored less on day 2 then one.

  10. Kel Says:

Has anyone seen the video of Gabby after podium training yesterday? She was interviewed…I find her to be so incredibly cocky and obnoxious!!! I hate to say it, but I almost prefer Nastia over her.

    • Dee Says:

I cant stand her, but I have grown to accept that she will be on this team even though most of her gymnastics is hideously fug.

I cant watch interviews with her. Makes my blood boil. She is way cocky…it’s ok if she is on team, but I hope she does not win an individual medal because I wont be able to stand seeing her face all over the place.

  11. Jessica Says:

I really fell in love with men’s gymnastics in 2008. I have been following them as closelysince them as I always have for the women. The top 5 today are who I would choose for the team. Leyva, Orozco, Mikulak, Horton and Dalton. I think that’s an outstanding team. There is no way I’d take someone who’s only a one event specialist. So there goes Naddour and Wynn. Much like WAG, this 5 member team just screws so many good gymnasts out of their olympic dream. And IMO, the only time I have ever gotten excited about pommel horse is when Sasha Artemev was doing it. 🙂
    Otherwise, I think it’s a useless event.

Onto the women’s side, I am so stoked for tommorrow night! I am in Ohio (EST) and I am also seeing swimming at 8 and gymnastics at 9.

I have been seriously thinking about the potential team members. I think we are all pretty much in agreement that Jordyn, Aly and Gabby are locks-barring major injury/catastrophe, of course.

That leaves two spots. I do not share the Kyla or McKayla love. If Marta stands by her claim that she won’t take a one even specialist, than McKayla has to nail her floor routine. I don’t think that’s gonna happen. ASac has a much better shot with her solid beam and vault. And if she upgrades back to the DTY, I think she has the upper hand. I really want to see what Sloan can do. Of course, in the end, I want the team that can win the gold. These are all just my opinions.

I’m glad I am not responsible for actually choosing these teams!

BTW…did anyone read that Jade Barbosa is out of the Olympics???? She refused to sign an agreement reguarding leos and was kept of Brazil’s team. Down goes another vault medalist. Sheesh!

    • nero Says:

Jade is incredibly stupid….and I love her

what the hell!!!! it’s on my tv guide and DVR that gymnastics starts at 8, why am I an hour behind everyone?? And I’ll be up in the mountains with no internet

Jesus I’m going to be freaking out tomorrow at 7 not knowing what’s going on

Mckayla better beat Gabby out for the final floor spot please gymnastics Gods

      • Jessica Says:

I really liked Jade too! Man, the nosy girl in me reaallly want to know the whole story on that one. Jeez, unless its a sponsor that’s just over the top or something..then I just don’t get it. I support standing for your beliefs, but it better be a damn good reason. I mean, it’s the freakin’ Olympics….wear what they give you!
disclaimer: I would have a problem if, let’s say, my team was being sponsored by Hitler, Inc. or some lab that tests on animals. Of course, once again, I am totally speculating on her reasons.

      • gymtruthteller Says:

My guess is that she probably has another deal with a different sponser for more money and she doesn’t want to change her mind. Total guess

  12. Luke Says:

I think the men’s team will be the top 4 plus a pommel horse specialist. Dalton and Legendre are great alternates, but if the US is seriously going for Gold, I’d dump them or maybe even Mikulak and put a pommel horse guy. Shame cuz those three are great all arounders but the US already has three good ones in Horton, Orozco and Leyva.

    • Jessica Says:

Good points, Luke. It just stinks that choices like this have to be made because someone got a notion that 5 on a team is sufficient. Of course, when it went from 7 to 6 members, people were probably just as pissy about it.

I think that they’d do ok on pommell with Orozco, Mikulak and Dalton. It won’t be high scoring, but it’ll be clean. Plus, they are valuable on other events. Dalton, particulary, fills in the rings equation nicely. Naddour is really the only one I can see as a one eventer filling in, but then he’s so so on most everything else.

I wish Artemev was still around 😦 Even with a fall he was still high scoring!

Uhg….again, I don’t envy the committee that has to do this!!
