Where?
January 23, 2013 at 1:24 AM |
Sorry the only way I can post a blog on my phone is to start it, publish it then go back in a different place to finish it (I needed to link something and it would not work)

Hahahaha I’m just being a bitch.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QUN3V4aZqfE&feature=youtu.be – Romanians training. Looks like they’re getting Bulimar to do another vault since a FTY is going to cut it and vault is the only thing holding her back doing AA.
January 23, 2013 at 1:48 AM
In this day and age if you can’t do at least a DTY you should not be vaulting
January 23, 2013 at 4:25 AM
i have no idea what diana b is saying but she’s so adorable! lol
January 23, 2013 at 1:23 PM
Hopefully it’s a DTY or maybe even a more valuable Tsuk. She’s very capable on floor, but then that doesn’t always mean great vaulting- Chellsie and Carly were mediocre or worse on vault. She will be at the French World Cup, can’t wait! Love her.

Jesse is a dumb disney channel show………with that one girl from the suite life on deck. And a bunch of other people.

I think it will be interesting to see how the Romanians do this quad!
January 23, 2013 at 6:39 AM |
I hope we have a quad with a dominant Larissa. She’ll give musty a run for her money…
January 23, 2013 at 11:22 AM
Me too. I’d love to see a good showdown between RUS, ROM and USA, with no injures.
January 23, 2013 at 1:16 PM |
same. based what i have read online, they do seem to be more significantly “at risk” financially though. i wonder how long their gym program will last actually. hope they dont end up going through what the ukraine is with their gymnastics.
January 23, 2013 at 1:26 PM |
Romania’s best juniors are 2014-2015. The 2013 ones are weak, they will be relying heavily on Diana, Larisa and Sandra. Chelaru, Haidu, Dragoi, Ponor are all gone. The best hopes other than those are Andreea Munteanu (2014), Silvia Zarzu (2014), Madalina Blendea (2015), Laura Jurca (2015), Asiana Peng (2016) and Andreea Iridon (2015).

Looks like Shawn is heading to the X Games in Aspen? That explains her buying that snowboard?

I really hope Romanian gymnastics dont suffer the same faith Ukraine did. I fear the may be running out of money.
January 23, 2013 at 9:19 PM |
I hope Romania doesn’t suffer the same faith Ukraine did. It’ll be extremely sad to see a program with such a history and success die because of lack of funding.

Does anybody know if Jordyn is back in the gym, or are they still doing the “teen” tour?
January 23, 2013 at 10:16 PM |
Both. Right now she is in the gym but she is going to tour
January 23, 2013 at 10:27 PM |
GTT: what is your twitter?
January 23, 2013 at 10:29 PM |
Woops- I have it- nevermind 🙂

Looks like Komova is dealing with a back injury. Poor thing.
January 24, 2013 at 1:04 AM |
Sickening. She really has the worst luck. 2010 YOG was her at her non-injured non-recovering peak. She says they are not sure of the reason, but she suspects it is to do with her body adjusting to its growth. She is expected (at this point, more tests due in the next few days) to miss Russian Championships, and therefore miss Euros.
January 24, 2013 at 1:07 AM
That is really unfortunate for her. I hope she mends quickly.

Damn. I’m wondering if gymnastics is just not good for fragile body types like hers. Although you never know I guess…maybe once the “kinks” are out she’ll be winning everything. I can’t help but think if Nastia can do it she totally can (win despite a fragile body type). Although Nastia had the judges in her corner.
Musty is healthy though right?
January 24, 2013 at 11:01 PM
I sometimes think Sanity that the gymnasts with “fragile-looking” body types like Vika’s are really less prone to injury because they don’t land as hard and pound their muscles and bones (due to being lighter) as much the heavier gymnasts do (meaning the slimmer, lighter gymnasts only look more fragile). When you think about it, the 12-14 year old elites seem to have less problems dealing with injuries than the older girls. Regardless, poor Vika has had her share of injuries. I read an interview from before the Olympics I think where, if I recall correctly, her coach attributed some of the injuries she had had up to that point to the fact she just started going through puberty a few months earlier. She did grow several inches in 2012 and I’m sure is still growing. I wonder if indeed that has something to do with it.
January 24, 2013 at 11:12 PM
You have a point there. Growth spurts are the worst for gymnasts I’m sure. Although Kyla managed to get through hers without any significant injury, although she was struggling with that amanar. Chellsie Memmel was injury prone and she wasn’t fragile.
