While I was sleeping

UNH news Segment with Austin Forbes doing bars.

Lexie Preissman’s new floor routine. Apparently Gymnastike is doing a documentary with CGA.

Kyla Ross and Elizabeth Price have been named to the American Cup. I am looking into going again but I am not going unless I get good seats.

Aly Raisman will be honored in New York in February. Too many names associated with this honor that make me want to……. (I’ll leave it to your imagination:) so I am not linking.

Shannon Miller has finally be verified on twitter. It only took a few days but @GetShannonOffic did a great job. She wanted me to thank you for helping out. She asked Chellsie Memmel and Jordyn Wieber to retweet but they did not but she did get help from Elizabeth Price’s aunt who asked Ebee to help (she didn’t help either) but it was nice of the Aunt to ask.

McKayla Maroney is one of the judges for Miss America tomorrow night (Jan 12) 9:00 PM EST Live on ABC!

Any word on non-US gymnasts that will be competing? I would love to see Rebecca Tunney. Tim, Elfie, and Al should apologize for their comments last year about her but of course they won’t.

      Italy’s Vanessa Ferrari.
      Asuka Teramoto of Japan
      Larissa Iordache of Romania,
      Germany’s Elisabeth Seitz,
The two remaining women will be announced in the near future.

    • Catherine Says:

I think one will be a Brit, they are sending one of their MAG Olympic team so it makes sense. Not neccessarily Tunney, but one of their new seniors, they have quite a few. The other one most people are going for a Canadian. If Russia and China turn their invites down which I think they will, then maybe a South American, there’s loads on the MAG side. Or Celine Van Gerner who is awesome. A second Romanian maybe if they are allowed, they had 2 top 10 finishers.

  2. Case Says:

Also, I can independently verify that Jo is back in the gym training. I think that second tour got canceled.

  3. exgymgurl Says:

No theyre selling $100 + tickets for it here in Austin… and there are still $100 tickets for the first row available…FL lost to LSU, and GA won at AK.

  4. Guest Says:

I think Rosu’s Amanar ( second vault in this clip) is better than Maroneys. Same height, more centered landing. Thats why she was the best in 2004

    • Catherine Says:

She has much less height. Hops on the landing, and has to accelerate her twisting to get it round- it does not seem as ‘easy’ as Maroney’s and she has a slight bend in her knees. Certainly it’s an exceptional vault, but Maroney wins that battle for me.

      • exgymgurl Says:

I think maybe youve seen McKaylas in slow motion too many times. McKayla usually hops on the landing or steps. And is usually off to the side and not centered. McKayla has a leaner line, I just think that Rosu’s is just as high… and more centered. I also think most of the time Maroney bends her knees and they just show it from so far away…

      • Catherine Says:

Ah I’m only going on their ‘best’ exhibition- Rosu EF 2004 V Maroney TF 2012. Rosu’s isn’t as high, and she displays very slight form issues- similar to McKayla. Can’t get a decent angle to really analyse Rosu’s form and form on her block though. I know McKayla has slightly ‘soft’ legs and has a bit of a pike in her hips alright. Really, only Cheng Fei had absolutely PERFECT form in the air- and Maroney gets more height than her, which makes hers the most pleasing of the 3.

      • Kate Coursey Says:

Nah, Rosu’s isn’t nearly as high as Maroney’s. Maroney gets insane lift off the horse…I don’t think any other woman vaulter can go as high off a yurchenko block. She sometimes has slight form issues (although she has stuck the amanar twice), but so does Rosu. The exciting thing about Maroney’s amanar is that she gets the height to pull off a triple or a double back. Rosu isn’t high enough to get around another twist.

  9. exgymgurl Says:

The amanar club without Aly Raisman….

  10. exgymgurl Says:

proof of Kylas Amanar…..and all the other americans except maybe EBee

  11. Catherine Says:

McKayla Skinner’s laid out double double! I was kind of wondering exactly what that would look like before, only to remember duhh it would look exactly like Elise Ray’s bars dismount. Anyway, her form isn’t perfect of course and she’s using an extra mat- it looks like she could do it without it, and this was only her second one, so she might even be able to straighten up her legs. Her landing is pretty good too, I expected it to be lower. That would get credit- but H is the most difficult anyway, pity the code doesn’t open the door for possible I and J elements in the future. Murakami may have some new ones up her sleeve too. Anyway, it would be interesting if she could shake up the powerhouse battle Lexie V Simone V Ebee. She has an amanar now as well…

  12. gingercrush Says:

Mai Murakami needs to be clean. I’m not sure why she wants to throw out the difficult skills when the easier skills aren’t much better. That is what use to annoy me about Peng Peng Lee. Yes she had original skills but as she rarely was clean with them, what was the point.

Scam cup is going to be so much fun. Oh I can’t wait for the streaming/youtube videos with the sounds of the horrible trio. I wonder whether they can outdo themselves.

Hahahahaha also I am back posting/mostly reading IG Forum and they’re still all mad.

    • Catherine Says:

Murakami is very clean in her existing skills. I love the Japanese style. You’d love M’rcy Matsunami..check her out on YouTube. She has a toe-on counter Kim and the same again with a full twist, in training from 2010. They are horrific, uglier than the Nabievamanar. She competes for Alaska..I think.

    • gymtruthteller Says:

What are they mad about now?

  13. Biyatch Says:

Gabby now has bangs… not a fan

  14. exgymgurl Says:

Thats a wig. Her hair never looks like that. Wendy WIlliams BFF here we come….I think she looks like she bought it at Claires. In fact there is a green St Patricks day wig there that looks exactly the same.

Check it out from some web site for the Gabby Douglas wig look

    • Case Says:

Lol. Not quite the same hairstyle but I can appreciate where you are going with that.

In other exciting news, Twistars is hosting a huge meet this weekend. You’ll all be pleased to know that Level 7 was dominated by Jaycie Phelps Athletics. Little Jaycie is building an empire in rural Indiana.
