Georgia fell 3 times on beam and had to count two falls. Arkansas took advantage and beat them in as the third team in the night session of Nationals. Oklahoma must have screwed up to because Stanford beat them to make the super 6 too.
Finals is probably Sunday but I am not sure.

I predict UCLA will win because their big guns made mistakes they will fix for the final section. Zam fell off beam and Peszek fell on floor. Their over score will be full tilt come the Finals.

Should be interesting with less than six tenths of a point between the top six teams

I think if Florida, Alabama or UCLA are on fire with the other two making mistakes, they will take it. If all routines are nailed, I’d say it may be between the first two.
BUT. This is a freaking exhausting weekend. Yesterday was a dogfight to make finals and the teams are so close together. Can Florida and Bama not only redo what they did but better it… it can be hard to recapture the magic a second time. UCLA might have that extra energy or goal-setting. I don’t know. I don’t really know what I’m talking about haha.
Sad that Oklahoma didn’t make it and Stanford did! That’s a surprise. And I have to think it’s fitting for Georgia not to qualify after two years (?) of bad coaching and so much energy put into Shayla Performing Poorly. Jay hasn’t addressed questions about the team’s downfall and why Shayla has remained in lineups (granted, she finally hit yesterday but observors mentioned he spent much of his warmup time coaching her, while the girls that ended up falling didn’t have appropriate attention at Nationals) but I think it’s time for this situation to be faced. There is still a great deal of talent on that team but it’s been so unenjoyable and icky to watch what has happened since Suzanne left. And yet they still seem so proud! Haha.

Wow, I actually called it. No worries Gymtruthteller. I live in Santaland and only guessed based on what I read – we get no NCAA gymn on TV up here in the snow.

College gym was not my freak out. Regular sports are trying to kill me. I just quit wanting things because it never works out.

Shayla, did well and Noel and Christa failed. That class that will be seniors next year is such a huge tragedy for Georgia gymnastics. The first class of Jay Clark freshman. The breakdown on beam, that’s a mental breakdown. Coach Clark needed Shayla’s score, but he needed four other scores also. In coaching like in sales you often leave your best people alone because they don’t have much room to improve and most of the time your top consistent performers get the job done. You wont see Marta Karolyi spending a ton of time with Weiber or Nastia or Shawn because she doesnt need to. Its actually at times more detrimental for people that know how to be gamers and get up for a competition to have a coach help. Who leads? Who is the Courtney Kupets or Katie Heenan or Courtney McCool of those three?
Sad…..

Most people agreed with that prediction, they had the most room for improvement from prelims to finals, however, Bama made tiny improvements like stack-eaton on vault and also went up. Other than Ashanee falling on bars for florida no major mistakes in the top 3 teams… nice in comparison to the fall ridden elite nationals last year…. In other news Bart Conner in his alzheimers stupidity said that Corrie Lothrop was an olympic alternate for Canada in 2008,…. and he can’t pronounce Vanessa Zamarippa…. wow… get a life how many commentaries do you do a year? and how many names in NCAA gymnastics do you have to learn…. what a freak!!! Where is Amanda Borden? She would be so much better than Bart Conner…
