Vault:
YAY Amelia. BETTER execution scores for her DTY then Ohashi. TAKE NOTE US NATIONALS and stop over scoring Ohashi.
The rest, wow. Gabby tanks. According to quick hit she abandoned the Amanar. Sounds like it was mid flight. Kyla over-rotated her Amanar and Jordyn Wieber says. ” Me the World Champ bitches” okay not really but I am glad she hit. Only a 15.300 for Lexie. She must not have been perfect.
Kyla over rotating an Amanar. Maybe the rumored triple Amanar is true. Would explain the too much power. She denied it during podium training but “had a big smile” on her face was quoted.
Vault:
Katelyn Ohashi 5.8 9.050 14.850
Lexie Priessman 6.5 8.800 15.300
Gabrielle Douglas 6.5 7.750 13.950 (-0.3)
Kyla Ross 6.5 8.350 14.850
Jordyn Wieber 6.5 9.200 15.700
Amelia Hundley 5.8 9.150 14.950
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So far so good. Quick hits have died but based on scores everyone is hitting. YAY, Kyla and that execution score on bars but it looks like something wasn’t given credit. Only a 6.2 Difficulty score instead of a 6.3 Gabby hit bars which is VERY good after she choked away vault.
Uneven Bars,
Amelia Hundley 5.6 8.400 14.000
Katelyn Ohashi 6.0 8.650 14.650
Jordyn Wieber 6.3 8.700 15.000
Kyla Ross 6.2 9.050 15.250
Gabrielle Douglas 6.4 9.100 15.500
Lexie Priessman 5.7 8.600 14.300
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Us is on a bye next rotation. I don’t understand the line up for beam. Jordyn last, fine but Kyla second before Gabby? Pulease.
Balance Beam:
Amelia Hundley 5.8 8.400 14.200
Kyla Ross 6.1 8.900 15.000

Right now we have Canada, Japan and some others. I won’t be here for this but I might be here tonight.

Wow did they fall on the FTY?
March 16, 2012 at 9:36 pm |
Even the cheesiest vaults in the world would have a tough time of losing almost 2 points if they didn’t.
March 16, 2012 at 9:55 pm
Yeah that’s crazy what is the start value of a FTY anyways? I know a DTY is like 5.8
March 16, 2012 at 10:08 pm
5.0 The quick hits said they were Yurchenko fulls and the live results have them as a 5.0
March 16, 2012 at 10:55 pm
So does this mean Kellogg’s is sponsoring her too now?
March 17, 2012 at 2:40 am
*gags*
March 17, 2012 at 2:55 am
What do you mean.lol???
March 17, 2012 at 2:57 am
I think that was in reply to Kellogg’s possibly sponsoring Nastia too
March 17, 2012 at 2:58 am |
the gag? oh, it’s a violently ill response to nastia whoring on the whole kelloggs deal. gross…..
March 17, 2012 at 2:59 am
Oh thanks.lol I thought it was under the new pac rim quick hits thread. Sorry I am slow.lol

RE: Gabby Douglas
Raisman says hello from Mass.
March 17, 2012 at 2:55 am |
Gabby needs to hit beam and floor for Aly to be worried. One bar routine makes you a specialist.
March 19, 2012 at 6:36 pm
You know, Gabby compliments Aly really well. Marta has to be thinking that. Gabby can be relied on for UB, and Aly can be relied on for V, BB, FX. Better those two than, say – Maroney and Nastia complementing each other….I really like Maroney but if it means having Maroney = having Nastia, I say leave Maroney at home and take Douglas/Raisman.
March 19, 2012 at 8:23 pm
Yeah I too would much rather see the Gabby/Aly combo lol and I really hope Shawn is ready cause I would love to see her on the team
As well
March 17, 2012 at 2:57 am |
Ahh! I was cheering so hard for gabby! what happened to her vault!!!
March 17, 2012 at 2:59 am |
According to the quick hits she abandoned her Amanar in flight and crashed a DTY. She was short.
March 17, 2012 at 3:03 am
I saw Gabby had sat down several Amanars during warm ups glad she didn’t hurt herself though
March 17, 2012 at 3:03 am |
okay, she hit on bars *breaths*
come on gabby! you gotta hit on beam and floor.
so team USA is sitting out of the next rotation, then beam, which kinda helps jordyn since according to the podium vids she has been struggling on beam.
March 17, 2012 at 3:06 am |
I feel really bad for Georgia Simpson that would be aweful hope she recovers quickly!
March 17, 2012 at 3:19 am |
I heard what happened but it gave me a stomach ache so I am keeping quiet. The end of her Olympic dream is what really sucks.
March 17, 2012 at 3:20 am
Yeah you never know what will happen the last few months leading up the Olympics
March 17, 2012 at 3:14 am |
As we reflect on tonights events, please remember that Darlene ( Darling) Hill won floor in 2008 for team USA at PacRims, and Jana Bieger won bars. Neither of these athletes were among the chosen ones for Beijing. Nastia won the AA but fell or something on bars and got beaten by Jana, but Nastia won beam.
March 17, 2012 at 3:18 am |
Why are you trying to bring facts into this discussion egg:) Hey your initials are E.G.G
March 17, 2012 at 3:37 am
Hey in 2004 its even better, Katie Heenan wins bars, ASac won vault and Aliyse Ischino won the AA. Carly Patterson was second and won beam, but still 25% chance of making the olympic squad based on that result, but I know Aliyse got hurt at camp…. Just keeping it real, its not the end all be all of life, in terms of making the olympic team or not.
March 19, 2012 at 6:49 pm |
By this Standard (winning beam @PacRim = olympics)Kyla should be in and then Jordyn too for one event and AA… winning beam has written the golden ticket two quads in a row
March 17, 2012 at 3:42 am |
aaaannnnnnddd we are on beam!
March 17, 2012 at 3:49 am |
Uh oh Gabby fell on beam I feel bad for her even though I’m routing for Kyla
March 17, 2012 at 3:53 am
She fell twice according to
http://usagym.org/pages/events/pacrim/live.html
and I lost the scoring feed. It won’t show up
March 17, 2012 at 3:56 am
Yeah I haven’t seen any of the beam scores yet on twitter either
March 17, 2012 at 3:56 am |
Im guessing Kyla gets to do AA now… Aly Raisman is at home happy as a clam
March 17, 2012 at 3:58 am
I’m soooo mad at gabby!
it’s still early…in the season and in gabby’s career….let’s not forget wieber had her falls in her early days,
March 17, 2012 at 4:08 am |
Damnn! Why can’t open Usagym live scoring website -__________-’
March 17, 2012 at 4:10 am |
It won’t open for anyone.
March 17, 2012 at 4:12 am
Simpson no fracture just dislocation
March 17, 2012 at 4:10 am |
Does this mean it’s the end for Gabby? Oh no, sad for her :’(
March 17, 2012 at 4:15 am |
No. She is Marta’s pet and she hot bars. She will be fine.
March 17, 2012 at 4:17 am
Yeah Marta loves her although I have a feeling she may have to deal with the wrath of Marta at the next training camp
March 17, 2012 at 4:23 am
Gabby is scratching floor. Cue the excuses. Gabby was iiiiinjured. SPARE ME. Are we that far ahead we can scratch a score.lol
March 17, 2012 at 4:26 am
Or perhaps Marta knew there was no way she would beat Jordyn or Kyla for one of the AA spots and decided to go ahead and pull her to prevent anything else from happening on floor
March 17, 2012 at 4:24 am
Gabby scratched floor I’m guessing maybe since she is having an off night she didn’t want to risk injury or either the Marta wrath
March 17, 2012 at 4:26 am
*jumps on ross bandwagon*
How did wieber score on beam?
March 17, 2012 at 4:27 am |
The Gymnastics Examiner:
Douglas has scratched floor, it appears!
Whaaaa?
March 17, 2012 at 4:29 am |
InsideGym:
Gabby Douglas of US tweaked her ankle on vault and did not compete FX
chickened out perhaps?
March 17, 2012 at 4:35 am |
I say Marta took her out because if Gabby quits in middle of the meet she might as well retire now.
March 17, 2012 at 4:36 am |
What doesn’t make since to me is if she tweaked it on vault why did she compete on beam? I could see bars not a whole lot on the ankle there but if it was tweaked why beam?
March 17, 2012 at 4:38 am
If she was really hurt she would not have done beam either. This is s save face move
March 17, 2012 at 4:43 am
Yeah they probably don’t want people questioning how Gabby does under pressure again or they don’t want to look crazy for nearly proclaiming her new Olympic champ after she beat Jordyn doing an exhibition I like Gabby ok and all but I think they put too much pressure and expectations on her with all the hype
March 17, 2012 at 4:30 am |
Gymtruthteller you called it now they are saying Gabby tweaked ankle on vault
March 17, 2012 at 4:36 am |
I am calling BS. Injury my ass
March 17, 2012 at 4:43 am |
she may have not been “injured”, but the fact that she is missing left and right, I feel it was sensible for the coach to pull her out as safety precaution……..gabby is obviously out of it tonight, don’t want her missing a tumbling and breaking something
March 17, 2012 at 4:47 am
Yeah and especially since they didn’t need her floor to win it’s always best not to risk injury
March 17, 2012 at 4:55 am
Everyone makes excuses for this girl when she coughs up another gym meet. I am sorry but I am sick of the excuses.
Taking her out was a good idea because the way Gabby was going she could have landed on her head three times. Is this the type of gymnast you want to count on at the Olympics though?
Being afraid that if she messes up one event she might fall a part completely ?
The fact that Marta had to pull her out and then make excuses for it is not going to be a selling point in Gabbys favor.
I am not going to call her out of it because of one bad competition but I have to wonder if Marta pulling her means she has.
March 17, 2012 at 5:06 am
Gabby is good but if I were Marta Gabby would have to do really well at camp and hit at Classics, Visa, and Trials and prove she can handle the pressure because even if she were taken as a bar specialist if someone were injured she would need to be solid on any event no question asked
March 17, 2012 at 5:11 am
to me I feel it’s more of a mental issue with gabby – she presumably could hit her routines during practice…….not to chalk up any more excuses for her, but if she could overcome this fear/pressure issue then great, if not then shall the most deserving gymnast go to the olympics……..other than nastia
March 17, 2012 at 5:17 am
Yeah I think she has issues that once she has a major mistake she has trouble getting passed it but if she wants to be on that team she will have to get it together
March 17, 2012 at 3:43 pm
Yea she somewhat reminds me of Hollie Vise (sorta) SO much potential but the mental toughness is the issue. I like Gabby but I want USA gold more so if she cant be consistent from this point on even though Im a fan Id say pull her. I do agree with Marta though about Gabby and how she was rushed through upgrades, even Jordryn progressed through and first was very confident in her skills, like even listening to Shawn sometimes i wonder if Chow pushes perfection and thats why they struggle when the situation lacks perfection? just a thought. On a whole though poor Gabby. Kyla however was paced incredibly well through her whole career. I always said this girl will peak perfectly come London 2012. I just hope Maroney or someone else whose not “a power gymnast” makes it if Gabby’s out. I super glad she’s not doing Jeleso, that is plenty of time to get it together and if she cant by classics thats will speak for itself.
March 17, 2012 at 4:41 am |
Any word on whether Ross is training a triple yurchenko?? gym examiner brought up that might be the reason for the extra power…
March 17, 2012 at 4:56 am |
She asked her and she said no but she had a big smile on her face. Who knows. The lack of updates on Ross at this meet makes little sense to me.
March 17, 2012 at 5:01 am
Would love to see a TTY but I don’t want anyone to get hurt attempting it on another note:
http://t.co/oSCbk7vC
Team photo Gabby isn’t putting much pressure on the left leg but shouldn’t the ankle be wrapped?
March 17, 2012 at 5:22 am
LOVE how they shoved Gabby next to Jordyn.
Gabby is not injured.EXCUSES
March 17, 2012 at 5:11 am |
They are saying Gabby’s hand slipped on the vault table
March 17, 2012 at 5:12 am |
Results:
http://usagym.org/pages/events/pacrim/results.html
not sure if they’re the fulll scores tho
March 17, 2012 at 5:22 am |
First one is Nastia sore shoulder stuff from Marta second is what happened with Shawn at camp from Marta
March 17, 2012 at 5:29 am |
All this proves to me is that Marta will make excuses if the gymnast is who she likes. Nastia=excuse
Pulling Gabby = excuse Shawn= she wasn’t ready.
Who doesn’t have full routines 4 MONTHS BEFORE THE OLYMPICS.LMAO
March 17, 2012 at 5:24 am |
Kyla was nĂºmero UNO at last camp verification
March 17, 2012 at 5:30 am |
She had to have had upgrades. I am so confused:)
March 17, 2012 at 5:40 am
Perhaps Marta wanted to make sure she didn’t beat Jordyn at Pacific Rims since it and Jordyn are sponsored by Kelloggs and I’m not sure I buy the whole Shawn wasnt ready thing especially since she said in that article a while back that she wanted to compete at Jeselo I find I hard to believe that even if she wasn’t ready to do the AA after doing the knees rehab thing I still think she would at lest be ready on a couple events
March 19, 2012 at 6:42 pm
Yeah I mean Shawn was “ready” to compete three events for worlds last year…as far as I know there wasn’t a hold up after that (i.e., reinjuring that knee)…did that rehab thing hold her back that much? Something weird is going on.
March 17, 2012 at 5:44 am |
So Wieber hits 4/4 here and scores 61.05 compare that to her “winning score” at American Cup where she got 61.035
LOL
March 17, 2012 at 5:46 am |
also I don’t understand it either why they let her “compete” beam if she tweaked her ankle on vault and scratched floor but whatever
March 17, 2012 at 5:50 am |
Excuses. EVERYONE makes them for Gabby
March 17, 2012 at 5:46 am |
From Martha’s Examiner interview -
“Martha suggested that Gabrielle Douglas’s poor performance was due to her trying a bit too much of her difficulty all at one time. She was “overpressured” Martha said, first by having done so well in New York two weeks ago and then being expected to do it all again here, and Douglas is a gymnast who needs to feel “absolutely secure” in her routines to do them very well.
Martha suggests that dramatic changes (apparently Liang Chow wanted to introduce even more difficulty into her bar routine, giving her a 6.9 D-score, but that was seen as a little too much, so some of the difficulty was taken out at the last minute) suddenly don’t work with Douglas, and that Chow may still be getting to know his athlete and what works for her.
Does Douglas’s performance effect her Olympic chances? Well…”one good meet, one bad meet,” Martha said philosophically, suggesting that it’s something of a wash. ”

March 17, 2012 at 5:53 am |
I agree with Marta about this. You have a headcase WHY do you over load her with difficulty she never hits?
It makes no sense especially with Gabby and beam.
Go for the win only means if you can hit the skill in practice every day.
Marta has NEVER sounded so intelligent as she did in those comments.
The one event Gabby should have the difficulty is bars. It is the only event she hits most of the time.
March 17, 2012 at 5:55 am
Yeah if Gabby could have difficult bars and just decent everything else like a DTY on vault and all if she could be consistent Marta would out her on the team based on bars that is IF she could get it together and hit when it counts
March 17, 2012 at 6:04 am
I’m not a fan of marta….or even like her remotely, but I gotta say that was one heck of a sensible interview marta gave…….
March 17, 2012 at 6:07 am
It is weird to see her being reasonable.lol and I hope you realize I wasn’t yelling at you earlier when I complained about the excuses everyone makes for Gabby. It was not personal.
She hit bars which is huge for her and the US. As long as she keeps hitting bars she will be on this team. She isn’t going in my beam line up under any condition though:)
March 17, 2012 at 6:12 am
oh dude! I’m already arguing on the internetz on a friday night…..not gonna be so pathetic as to take forum arguing personally!
I hold judgement on the gabby vault debacle/competition meltdown till I watch it on TV tomorrow.
March 17, 2012 at 6:14 am
I have it set to record on dvr it’s one thing getting updates online or twitter but I want to see how they all did for myself lol
March 17, 2012 at 6:15 am
I will not be up by 1 pm so I am dvring it too. See you when I get up.
March 17, 2012 at 3:53 pm
Oddly in ways Gabby reminds me of Nastia, in ways, not really strong on all 4, but great on bars, Chow should just get her simple and clean on 3 and get that 6.9D score bar routine locked and I dont see why Gabs wouldnt be on the team. Marta is right, he’s doing tooo much.
March 17, 2012 at 5:47 am |
If you look at pics of Gabby on the podium, you can see that she is favoring her left foot/ankle. She really isn’t applying a lot of pressure to it.
March 17, 2012 at 5:49 am |
I noticed that too I wonder why they didn’t wrap it though
March 17, 2012 at 5:48 am |
http://t.co/DlGrjzmR
I think Marta’s warning to Shawn and
Nastia is this:
Nastia stop blowing off camp for publicity or else it’s making it hard for me to give you a spot
Shawn: get your tumbling back to 08 or forget it
March 17, 2012 at 5:53 am |
Event finalist for Sr
event finalist for Jr
March 17, 2012 at 5:57 am |
Thanks. Kyla making all 3, only senior to do so says a lot.
March 17, 2012 at 6:00 am
I agree and with all these seniors havin Amanrs you would think they would learn a second vault (doesn’t have to be anything spectacular) to at atleast attempt a vault medal
March 17, 2012 at 6:07 am
I thought about that too…..but I think these girls are aiming to be all-arounders and not vault specialists……so they would rather invest their time on other routines/apparatuses than waste time/risk injury on another vault.
March 17, 2012 at 3:53 pm
I am pretty sure that Christine Lee also made 3 finals.
March 17, 2012 at 9:07 am |
I wish Ohashi was 16 this year.. she would be of great use at the olympics! she’s really good IMO! and if she was in the senior category today, she wouldve beat kyla and everyone else.. except for jordyn that is..
March 17, 2012 at 4:15 pm |
I was surprised that Gabby didn’t head case bars. She went up while Simpson was being put on a stretcher and I thought that because of that it was going to be a disaster but she hit.
March 17, 2012 at 5:28 pm |
Watching Gabby’s vault, it is clear that she is really hurt and it is not an excuse.
March 17, 2012 at 5:32 pm |
I don’t agree. She over played it and NBC did too. She might have stung it a little but if she was really injured then bars and beam never would have happened.
March 19, 2012 at 11:33 pm
She apparently posted a picture on FB of her swollen ankle…maybe she’s reading this blog
March 20, 2012 at 12:10 am
I doubt she is but her mother changed the wording on her blog after I complained about it here. She worded it like the trip to the Olympics was a forgone conclusion. It is now called a journey.
I would prefer all gymnasts stay away from this blog. From all blogs.
As much as I call out Gabby for her issues she works hard. All gymnasts do.
I get she hurt the ankle but she did not injure it beyond repair which is what the fanatical fan base was claiming plus someone else on this blog noted how she jumped off the podium after UB the same night. Sounds like excuses to me.
March 17, 2012 at 7:38 pm |
1. Very impressed by little Ohashi, very interesting and precise little gymnast. Really like the slightly odd yet stylistically interesting combo of her body type, height and style… she is ready to rock. Too bad her parents didn’t conceive her a tad earlier!
2. Jordyn looked really good. She’s solid, clean, has the difficulty. She trumps this code and mentally/physically is programmed for the wins. In a way she reminds me of Carly Patterson – high difficulty, few wobbles, just senses what she needs to do and where she needs to be… but unfortunately still not super thrilling, stylish, memorable, not sure exactly what. However Jordyn’s extension and toe point are far better IMO. Eyebrows – not sure.
3. Gabby. Hmmn. I like this kid and was impressed at Scam Cup, but was gagging a bit by all the people that suddenly proclaimed her as Mother Teresa within the past month. Is she still their clear-cut winner for AA Gold at the Olympics as well as the cure for all unsolved world issues? She’s talented but I would not venture to say she’s established herself as the front runner ahead of Jordyn, Kyla, and even ugly but consistent Raisins.
4. Lexi Priessman… holy floor… girl is talented and super aggressive there… I bought into her at this meet. She doesn’t really seem a junior but that could be the growth spurt and fake maturity the intense spray tan and lavender eyeshadow provide her. It will be interesting to see where this athlete goes.
5. Hundley. So she’s Tia Orlando (she had good toes) meets Carly Patterson meets Ashley Kelly, but I actually like her. Biggest girl on the team already but really working on form and polish – it’s obvious. Her huge smile and support of teammates warmed my sometimes icy heart. Nice skills.
6. Georgia Simpson… what a heartbreaking story. I’ve just read that she’s survived horrible injuries and years off to deal with them and her sister’s death. Yes, this makes me even sadder about what transpired today after she persevered through all this and finally clawed her way back to likely Olympian in Peggy Limpdick’s eyes. I’m so sad for her.
7. Was hard to concentrate on the Chinese since they looked young enough to be in Pampers… even my husband thought they were actually six.
8. Canada… looking pretty non-beastly! Peng Peng’s beam is very nice but she needs to slow down and show more grace in her dance on beam… she was already pulling a collegiate style but otherwise was very impressive. Victoria Moors in floor was incredible!!! So non-Canadian, she made me proud to be Canadian!
9. Thank you Marta for reading my previous comments on this blog and answering my questions about what Shawn did at camp, and what she and Nastia need to do next. Sounds like the next camp is critical. Shawn, work those routines!!! Nastia… keep promoting the local YMCAs!!!
10. I enjoy meets with both seniors and juniors. I love the exposure and seeing so many routines. I did wish I was watching Maroney today… hope she has a great Jesolo.

March 19, 2012 at 9:38 pm |
How do you think Martha is going to split up the senior team in Jesolo? Is it going to be like an A team and B team (contenders vs. no chance) with Aly, McKayla, Kyla, Bross all on one team or do y’all think she’s going to try to mix it up. I can’t see her being happy with anything less than team gold especially since the US is going up against some names on the Russian side.
March 19, 2012 at 11:27 pm |
I kind of think she might mix it up like Kyla and Maroney and Aly and Bross or something like that to kind of even it out
March 20, 2012 at 12:14 am |
A team and B team IMO because Russia is sending some good gymnasts including Mustafina.
March 17, 2012 at 5:08 am |
my bad – not john geddert, but inside gym posted the scores. must hv got messed up cuz i was looking at john g’s twitter prior
March 17, 2012 at 1:21 pm |
I think the goal for kyla at her first senior meet should be to go out and hit 4/4 well. She did that. If she stays uninjured and does well at Jesolo she has a good shot Carly and Nastia both fell a lot pre olympics at meets. One bad meet doesnt kill you. ASac had a great PacRims in 04 and flopped at trials. Bieger in 08 had a great pacrims and was missing left and right at selection camp.
March 19, 2012 at 11:34 pm |
Especially if Kyla was holding back difficulty…she’ll be in the running for sure in London with Weiber as the two top AA’ers. I have a bad feeling though someone will get injured. It always happens. Someone getting injured is the only hopes for the likes of ASac, Nastia, Memmel, Sloan, etc…
March 20, 2012 at 12:08 am |
Why is Kyla holding back difficulty but no one else is? It took Gabby tanking for Marta to smack some sense into her coach. Jordyn is working her upgrades. Mckayla is working her upgrades. Only Kyla is being “held back” conspiracy theory:)
March 20, 2012 at 2:29 am |
I think we will know more after Jeselo if Kyla shows her upgrades there then I think Marta just wanted to make sure Jordyn won at Pacific Rims since she is sponsored by Kelloggs if not then who knows Martas crazy reasoning lol
March 20, 2012 at 2:41 am |
When is Jeselo ?
March 20, 2012 at 2:54 am |
I think the very end of this month
March 20, 2012 at 1:12 pm |
Yes, the 31st.
