Not only did she win but she went four for four. Good job Bridgey. Your sis has her token team medal. You trump her with your AA Gold. Even if it is Pan Am’s.

Vault:

Red leo’s with squiggly things on the sleeve. I liked them.

The US girls got some gifts on vault. Jessie piked her DTY down but stuck the dismount getting the highest score. Shawn took a big step on her landing and Brandie Jay’s form is just atrocious. Caquatto must have fallen because she scored 13.925. Grace was first with a 1.5. Brandie’s second vault was a mess but still scored a 14. 4 something.

Poor Elsa Garcia fell twice off beam, so far. She’s in tears.

Uneven Bars:

They only showed Brandie Jay, Bridgey C and Bridget Sloan on bars. Brandie hit her routine, missed a beginning hand stand and was killed on her Execution score. Caquatto stayed on and Sloan must have missed a connection or something because they took forever for her score and it was only late 13.’s. Shawn must have nailed her routine because she got a 14.400

and now I have lost the connection.

5.900 start value for Shawn. 8.500 execution. I just watched her routine in slow/fast motion. It was a slow motion feed but speed up. It was interesting.lol

Was that Wieler kip on the high bar?

I have no sound.

and now I have soccer.hmm

and partial routine from Brandie J. back to men standing around…

Beam:

Shawn fell twice. She was nailing it until the the falls. How crapola.
12.875 is not a bad score for two falls. The rest of the girls so far score in the 13’s. She could have had a score over 15 if she had hit. it’s too bad she gets no other chance to prove what she can do on this routine.
I am pretty sure this is team finals not prelims.

Floor

and now I have running. Honestly this feed sucks. Jessie just did a bouncy floor routine but she stayed on her feet. Saw some of Brandie Jay’s routine where she was again killed on the execution score. Saw some of Caquatto’s floor that she literally walks through instead of dances through.

The US won.
Canada second and the kicker,

The US won by over a point.

While I was sleeping part too.

October 14, 2011

Jordyn Wieber won the AA by .033 over Viktoria Komova.

You can find all the routines here and here

I saw Viktoria’s floor and vault. Jordyn’s vault and floor and Uneven bars and that is it. I don’t know why but I find these worlds boring.

I am off to watch the rest and I will be back with my opinion of the, Vika was robbed, Jordyn was overscored variety.

Congrats to Jordyn on her win. If she deserved it. I’ll let you know:)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So I am back. I kind of get the Vika was robbed part. There is a quality to her gymnastics that you don’t really see in Jordyn, That being said Viktoria blew this AA title on beam and floor.
The first part of Viktoria’s beam routine was beautiful. She nailed everything but than the wobbles started and they didn’t stop. She also had messy landings on floor. People said her bars was messy but I didn’t see it. It looked like every other routine she has done this year.
Jordyn’s vault was kind of messy but the beam was almost perfect (one missed connection and one slight bobble)
Jordyn wasn’t perfect and she missed something on bars but the extra points she had on the Amanar made the difference overall.\
This could have gone either way I suppose.
The real heart break of this AA was the fall from Yao Jinnan. She has a very good DTY, A decent bars, an amazing beam and a nice floor. She would have made a lovely champion.
Aly Raisman again messed up her AA on that pesky uneven bars. She had a chance to get third if she had scored what she did in prelims but if I am being honest the AA score was a weeeeeeeeeeeeee bit high.
champs
When you are wrong you have to admit it and I was wrong. The 2011 World Champs are from the United States.
When this team was named everyone thought it was a bit off and technically that is still 100% true. That was before we found out Sabrina Vega was on the team and Gabby was the alternate. In the end it would have made no difference.
The girls did a great job. Aly was the team leader and they went 12 for 12 in finals.
The 5 girls above won and can now be called world champs even if seven girls will get medals make no mistake about it, these are the girls that won it.
Congrats to Aly, Jordyn, Gabby, Sabrina and Mckayla. You other two enjoy your gifts.
~~~~~~~~~~~~

Mckayla did a great job in teams final hitting her floor and vault. She did a much better job in team finals than she did in prelims and this is huge for her chance for next years Olympic team.

The one name every gym fan keeps trying to eliminate for next years Olympic team is Aly Raisman. Sorry haters but if Aly stays healthy this worlds so far has moved her into the lock position for next years Olympic team.

Sabrina Vega did a good job at this worlds. She stayed on which is huge for her. She was the biggest surprise of this meet.

Gabby Douglas, congrats for your one team final routine. The fact the US had to use Sabrina for an event in team finals does not bode well for you next year. One event gymnasts need to score better than 14.7 even if they made the event final on this event)
(Oh come on. You didn’t expect me to be nice to everyone did you:)

Jordyn, What else can you say? This team medal is yours. 3 of the 4 routines you did in team finals were the highest scores the US received. If anyone deserves this medal it’s you.

~~~~~~~~~~~
I won’t be here tomorrow. After work I am going out. Good luck to the US men except the fairy:)
Marta to Alicia after her injury at worlds, ” I hate you”
October 9, 2011
According to Abomb from GGMB this is what happened to Alicia after she injured herself at Worlds.
All of this information belongs to Abomb so if he made it up and you want to sue someone try suing him. He insists this is 100% true and I have no reason not to believe him. He thinks too much of himself to just make something up.
AS: (tries to punch into a double arabian, crumples to floor, screaming in pain)
MK: “I hate you.”
AS: (achilles torn; lie down and hurt)
MK: “Stop crying, you are acting like a baby”
END SCENE.
If this really happened this is a disgrace. I am not an Alicia fan by any means but she has done a lot of USA-gymnastics and to be treated like this , is just wrong.
Do you even doubt me now that Marta still holds a grudge against Shannon Miller for beating her precious Kim Zmeskal?
Allegedly Marta also said this to Alicia at the Olympics. Got this from GGMB (I forget who said it)
Marta also said to Alicia after she fell on floor in beijing “congratulations you just lost the gold medal for the USA”. She didn’t speak to Alicia or say goodbye when the games were over.
Was Anna Li screwed over for a Potential Nastia Liukin comeback
October 8, 2011
So last night when I was alseep, biatch, attention whore Nastia Liukin announced her comeback in the middle of the 2011 World Championships.
While Nastia was attempting to steal the spot light from the hard working gymnasts that actually plan on earning their spots on the 2012 Olympic team, Anna Li was in the warm up gym trying to show Marta why she should be put in the line up. Allegedly hitting her routine Marta said no and Anna stayed on the sidelines supporting her teammates.
The question everyone is asking is why? If Anna is healthy enough to train why isn’t she on the team instead of a gymnast that is already back in Boston? I’ll tell you why because Marta couldn’t chance it.
What if Anna went out there and nailed her routine? What if she hit for over a 15 and made it to the event finals? What if she won a medal ? How could Marta possibly justify leaving home Anna Li World medalist from next years Olympic team if Nastia ******* Liukin is back in training working for the same spot on the team?
I told you before if Nastia can get a decent UB routine she will be on that Olympic team and the closer we get, the more right I look.
What about Rebecca Bross? The way Valeri was acting last year with Rebecca raised a lot of eye brows. When Valeri pushed her to do the DTY that everyone saw was too hard for her to do at that point everyone wondered if maybe he was distracted. We now know he was. Who needs Rebecca when Valeri now has his precious daughter.
Day two of prelims and worlds is over for me
October 8, 2011
Okay it is over but now it’s like ZzZzZzzzzz. Jiang Yuyuan has tanked away her entire worlds by screwing up vault and bars, doing a below average floor routine and hitting beam, crazy kid.
I have lost interest now. He screwed up bars and is out of finals so Beth gets another bar title but everything else sucks.
Medina Moreno from Mexico (whoever she is) hit beam and is in third. Can’t wait to see that routine.
The US stayed on, 20 for 20. Team finals is goi9ng to be a disaster. I am going to bed.
Good Luck Russia and Beth Tweddle.
Some Day one
This link is working well for all results.
Sub Division one
Elsa Garcia bombed big time on beam and vault. Her only hit event, floor.
When you are outscored by a mixed group gymnast you know you sucked.
